‘Hello, can I help you?’
Hello Treebeard Knight, it’s your simmer here. I know you thought you’d gotten rid of me sometime last Christmas, but unfortunately, I have a job for you.

‘Oh yeah, suppose I ought to marry the mother of my children’
Well yes, but I was more interested in the children bit.

They’re both pregnant with little stripe Knights.
And in case you were wondering why this update has taken eleven months to appear, it’s because it’s brought to you by the letters N-I-G-H-T-M-A-R and E, but more of that as we go through.

Rolling Stone is still alive, despite being ancient. Fields of the Nephilim and Screaming Tree have kitties on the way, and the short lifespan means the cat generations are going to end up quite a bit in front of the human ones, but… eh.

The pregnant duo also made the most of their child-free time by having fun in the snow.

You could almost pretend I was getting in early for this Christmas, instead of reliving events from just after last Christmas…

A rare instance of a Knight parent having a lie down.

Hospital time! Although neither has enough LTH for fertility treatment, we’ve been watching non-stop kids’ TV and listening to non-stop kids’ music to induce multiples.

Oh. Well, at least Treebeard is still to pop.

WHAT.

Anyway, these first two babies are

Pacer Mint

and Grimsby Town.
I could have named the whole family after types of mint (Everton mint, Mint humbug, those brown stripy mints I forget the name of) or football teams – so be thankful that I’ve restrained it to these two.

Now make more babies.

You may be wondering where the kitten posts are. Well, here’s a thing. The cats in game are up to the square/check/rectangle generation – and the ones about to be birthed at this point in the update are the stripy ones. I also changed computers part-way through this generation. So I’ve got a bunch of generations of cat pics to find, and I’m slightly befuddled about which is which, but this generation only had two kitties:
White Stripes
and
Stryper.

They both looked quite similar, IIRC (it was nearly a year ago…)

I believe this is one of them.

And this is probably the other (star gen and stripe gen look quite similar as you’ll see, so it’s hard to distinguish)

I do know that I chose Stryper, possibly because of the types of cat available from the shelter for mating purposes, the winner of which was
Rainbow.

Now go make some kitties.

Whilst the kitties are cooking, we’re about ready to pop out some more babies.

And age up our twins – this is Pacer Mint

And this is Grimsby Town

Their happy days as a twosome are not going to last long.

I believe this pretty was taken just before Rolling Stone finally kicked the bucket.

Although being dead is no bother in this town, where they have many uses for people in the afterlife.

We interrupt this frenzy to present disco zombie. Werk it, baby.

So here’s a thing. I have had multiple births a ton of times. I’ve had Twallan’s mods installed for years. I’ve given sims fertility treatment and made them listen to kids’ music and watch kids’ TV and all the rest of it, and I’ve always known that triplets was the maximum number the game let you have.

BUT NO. Thanks to the “magic” of mods, not one, but TWO sets of QUADS. I swear I had no idea this was possible (they got the triplets moodlet IIRC but this may be wrong). Never mind that, EIGHT BABIES. Plus two toddlers. TEN CHILDREN GENERATION I WAS NOT PARTICULARLY EXPECTING THIS.

What’s up, Rainbow?

You want to interrupt the multiple birth story with your own litter? Well, you will have to get in line. I have a lot of children to welcome first, and then we’ll come on to the kitten army.

First up, two boys.

Barber’s Pole

and Bagpuss.

Two more:

Hornet

and Candy Cane.

Aquafresh 3…

…Burglar…

…School Tie

Sidebar: this is my school tie from Middle School (my first school tie was plain red so that’s no use)

…and here is 25-years-ago me modelling it.

My secondary school tie is hard to find online seeing as the school no longer exists, but it looked something like this. Everyone wore one on the first day of year seven… no-one wore one afterwards. But both ties have strongly influenced my boy’s image, as you’ll see.

And there’s a girl ,too.

Deckchair.

As if ten kids, two adults and three cats (Fields of the Nephilim and Rolling Stone are dead at this point, and we shipped out White Stripes, but Screaming Tree remains alive) weren’t enough, here’s a litter of kitties, none of whom I can really tell apart very easily. Hooray!
Dubstar

Stars on 45

And Starship

I have no idea which is which, but cute kitty picspam is cute.

So, to recap. Twelve sims and six cats. There may be a reason why my game then started to crash. Every single time. For months. With me only occasionally getting to a save point (and bear in mind I have Twallan’s saver mod, so saves should happen every half an hour).

After a lot of effort, I managed to get some toddlers happening. School Tie favours the unisex look.

Deckchair is an early favourite.

Although Barber’s Pole is quite cute too.

Here’s Hornet…

…Bagpuss and Aquafresh 3…

…Candy Cane…

…and Burglar.

I sort of regret so many of them having red stripes in their outfit, as I’m always forgetting which is which.

The older girls aged up too. Pacer Mint wears the look of one who has endured much baby crying and many game crashes.

Grimsby Town meanwhile, gets into the sporting spirit early.

I always forget to repaint that roof bit. Anyway, it’s around this point that two things happen. 1: I wonder if the Twinbrook save is beyond help, so I move the family to Midnight Hollow and 2: I get a new computer.

Then the kids all start to age up again – School Tie…

…Candy Cane…

…Bagpuss…

…Aquafresh 3…

…Burglar (who has evil as a trait)…

(and is totes adorable)

Hornet…

…Deckchair…

…and Barber’s Pole.

I forgot that we still had Mandy’s grave on-lot and so she came out to chat to her grandkids, who seemed quite fascinated.

The kids started to bring home friends from school, which was quite handy.

Even if the town has slim pickings.

The older two tend to just play together instead of with the octuplets.

And occasionally get some sleep.

The kittens grew up – this is either Dubstar or Starship, who are total clones.

I went for Stars on 45 as heir though. We couldn’t find any cats to adopt, so we ran around the neighbourhood and found a kitten that we promptly cheated into our house, aged up and renamed Mazzy Star.
She’s not the prettiest cat, but beggars can’t be choosers.

Meanwhile these two aged up

But fortunately so did these two

So if the old folk pop their clogs, we’ll be OK.

I staggered the octuplets’ birthdays across a day to try and avoid game crashing (it failed – multiple attempts ensued), which meant Hornet was able to do this…

…to poor Aquafresh 3.

Burglar is a bit generic-looking and leans more towards Laura, but I still love him.

I’m not sure Aquafresh 3 looks that much like either parent.

Bagpuss neither, but at least I can use this Mare’s Nest CC I’ve had for years.

Hornet is more Knight than anything, but he’s not the pick of the bunch.

Barber’s Pole is not quite as ugly as the hideous hair suggests.

School Tie is very cute, but a bit of a Treebeard clone.

Again, not sure where Candy Cane’s looks come from.

Deckchair is probably the cutest but I don’t seem to have separate photos of her. She’s a total Laura clone, though.

Screaming Tree finally died.

A crazy amount of mourning ensued.

More than when both Treebeard and Laura kicked the bucket just afterwards. Still, three sims less is better for me, even if the game didn’t get much better.

Speaking of not much better, the townies of Midnight Hollow seem either bland or supernatural – and I’m not sold on supernaturals for this family.

Sending ten teens to school is always fun.

Everyone do the foot tapping dance!

The new EPs install and the game now starts letting me get 1-2 saves in before crashing to desktop. Huzzah! Pacer Mint is even able to age up and become quite the cutie.

Whereas Grimsby Town seems to have some proper old-skool Knight throwback genes in there. She wants to be a superstar athlete (but will settle for the Blue Square Premier League or whatever it’s currently called) and is an insane virtuoso with a photographer’s eye who loves the cold and is a supernatural skeptic.

Pacer Mint is a bit Treebeard-y but she’s a good contender. She wants to be an animal resucer and is family oriented,a savvy sculptor, genius, mooch who loves the outdoors.

Stop! Kitty time!

No, there aren’t a billion of them – just 4. (Just!) I can’t remember which is which yet, although they all look quite distinctive and are all a pleasing blend of the two parents. There are three girls and a boy (and they bring us up to seven cats and ten sims in the house).
Their names are…
Oblong
[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lOb799cTxM]
Black Box
Living in a Box (check the cultural insensitivity of that video. Oh, the 80s)
…and Check 1-2.

Eventually, although with much crashing in between, so half of their outfits didn’t make it, we got the others aged up. Deckchair is a slob, good, a party animal who loves the heat and despite hating the outdoors, wants to be a seaside saviour.

Aquafresh 3 is the only one with all three, three in one protection for your family. He’s also an excitable virtuoso snob who is friendly, loves the outdoors and has designs on being a fashion phenomenon.

Bagpuss is inappropriate, he can’t stand art, but loves animals, is a grumpy heavy sleeper and wants to be a fairytale finder.

Barber’s Pole loves both the cold and the heat, but can’t stand art. He is a born salesman but inappropriate and is a party animal. What a weird set of traits.
He wants to be a vocal legend.

Burglar wants to be a master thief, naturally. He is evil, avant garde, athletic and a light sleeping loser.

He is not fond of clothes.

Pretty good looking gen, no? And we’re only part-way through.

Candy Cane doesn’t look much like his parents, but he’s not the prettiest either.

He is flirty, over-emotional, unstable, good and friendly and wants to be a heartbreaker.

I aged up Hornet and School Tie in the middle of crashing and forgot to take proper pics, so here they are in CAS. Hornet wants to be a blog artist. He’s easily impressed, inappropriate, nurturing, evil and a computer whiz.

School Tie is good looking when he isn’t screwing his eyes up, but his eyes are exactly Treebeard’s. I forgot to write down any of his traits or LTW because I’m a BAD SIMMER. I was torn between him, deckchair and Pacer Mint for heirship.

But in the end I decided Pacer Mint was the most interesting choice.

‘Can I call a bad out of here?’

You can.

All the way to Isla Paradiso. The house hasn’t come in case that is the reason for the glitching.

Stryper is still alive, would you believe?

Still, I have no desire to play such an enormous household, so I packed off Pacer Mint with the four kitties.

She contemplates her future and wishes she could head out to sea, sailing away from legacy madness.

You can have the sailing bit, missy. The houseboats are quite small, aren’t they?

Time to run around town and look for mates. You only have a day left as a YA, time is of the essence.

No.

Cute, but best not to break up happy families, in case we make it to another generation in this hood and need the genetics.

No.

Pretty, but CC and face one suggests a service sim and we like to go for townies.

Pacer Mint and not especially attractive girl take to checking out the teen talent.

I think we’ll pass.

Maybe, but again, seems to be part of a family.

Nah.

Family again. Also looks a bit like Seth and I don’t want my sims being burned.

Ummm….
We decided to throw a party to see if she could find a partner that way.

Eh.

That much make-up can only mean a maid.

Hmmm.

Not bad.

Oh hello. Someone is wearing stripes. I wouldn’t even need to change his outfit.

Hello, Teodor Medina. Pleased to meet you.

We had to wait until morning to get a proper date with him – i.e. morning of the day Pacer Mint turns adult.

But we worked our magic.

And he fell at our feet.

Putty in our hands.

Generation cosmic is on its way.

And I decided we were gonna need a bigger boat.
I deleted all the pool tables and bars and replaced them with cots and cat beds.
Join us… whenever it may be… to see how (and if) the next generation turns out!
