Dear Readers,
Thank you for your willingness to read this blog post. I have written emails to my local representatives in the past year. This will be another one. I don’t venture in my blog to write about the politics of my time. I prefer to offer some information that will move beyond the struggles of our daily political drama. The grief I feel is pervasive and is shared by many friends over the death of Renee Good. A senseless, cruel and murderous act was committed in Minneapolis. My prescription for myself and anyone who is moved to end injustice is to act either by a thought, word or positive action each day.
Minnesotans are known for their work ethic; their devotion to caring for others with volunteers making a huge difference in the general health and security of the multicultural population.
The winters are challenging, but to offset nature’s winter storms, there are thriving cultural offerings like outdoor sports and the many entertainment venues. It’s cold here much of the year. But summers have a splendor that keeps refreshing the population’s efforts to build a society of cooperation throughout the year.
Community originates in the neighborhoods. People pull together in the face of aggression to stand up for the values that made Minnesota a good place to live.
Minnesotans aren’t without scars from inequality, but people pulled together here after the chaos of George Floyd’s murder; the riots that followed, and isolation of COVID. Daily life seemed to be reviving in the last few years. People began smiling more and engaging again in fulfilling their hopes and dreams.
Despite our best efforts, I watch in horror as a dark cloud washes over the United States that spreads hatred and division. Everything that I have lived for and believed in has withered under the spread of toxic fumes. We are in a police state, being threatened and pulverized daily, hour by hour, by the most sinister forces of repression.
After the killing of Renee Good, relatives in Europe contacted me, filled with fear and disbelief. Reassuring them that all was “okay” with me, I felt a deep sense of community with the contact from abroad.
In the case of Renee Good, the impact of such an overreach of laws of the US does not happen without wide scrutiny. It marks off another death in the list of assaults on women and men during this year’s Ice Raids. They committed Murder.
Yes. A murder was committed in front of the world. The world needs to see the truth. We are no longer living under the rule of law of our constitution.
I was completely disgusted by how far the government will go to cover up murder and the absolute mayhem that they have created in our lives and in the streets of America. The infamous “Divide and Conquer” policy is operating here.
“The land of the free and the home of the brave.” is a lost slogan of our past.
On Thursday while I drove to an appointment, there wasn’t much traffic on the roads. I suddenly felt such a sense of loss that my eyes filled with tears. My heart is heavy with sorrow for Renee Good, her family, and her children. And for my country, I plead for better minds, bravery, and the hearts of our elected officials to be moved to stand up for what is moral, ethical, and sane leadership.

Thank you for stopping by my kitchen.
May the light break through darkness
Peace
