On our Road trip from San Diego to Breckinridge we saw this curious looking naturally made monument outside of Moab, Utah.
Anyone see the resemblance here?

Aggelos Makrinnos made this extraordinary edit of clips from over a dozen science fiction movies set to Muse’s Exogenisis 3 part symphony/ Space Rock Opera.
Hope you all enjoy this one as much as I do!
I had to watch Predator Badlands twice in the cinema before writing this post.
Now, this is just my humble opinion. But, I am going out on a limb here and saying Predator Badlands is easily the best AVP crossover ever.
Yes, for those of you who have seen it and are chomping at the bit because (you are right) there is no Xenomorph in Predator Badlands.
However, it is still an AVP crossover event because the Synthetics built by the Weyland Corporation ARE a very important part of The Alien universe.
I recently finished the first season of Alien Earth on FX. It is truly a phenomenal deep dive into the Weyland Synths. It combines elements of Peter Pan into the overall story arc of terminally ill children getting a 2nd life by having their consciousness implanted into an adult synthetic human body.
Likewise, Elle Fanning’s synth character in Badlands has an innocent, almost childlike disposition in her unquenchable pursuit of knowledge and understanding the Predato(Dek).
20th Century Studios really knocked Badlands out of the park. I enjoyed the 2nd viewing just as much as the 1st ( though 1st viewing was in Dolby. Highly recommend seeing Predator Badlands in premium format).
I will be looking forward to a 3rd watch when it hits the small screen and streaming platforms.
Seriously, go see it while it’s still in theaters.
Yes, the future has arrived.
While we are busy marveling over the latest and greatest tech in phones and how well connected we are here on Earth, others have been busy creating the next generation of robots that will pave the way for a permanent home for humans on the moon.
You may have heard that NASA’S Artemis program will put a new generation of astronauts on the Moon.
But, did you know part of the goal of the Artemis Project is to establish a permanent Lunar Base?
It’s true.
And this will not be built here on Earth and sent in pieces to the moon.
No.
This will be achieved by deploying 3D printing construction robots on the Moon.
How is this possible?
NASA has contracted with a company out of Austin, Texas called ICON. They have been successfully building 3D printed houses here on Earth.
Now, they have the technology to do this on the Moon by utilizing the Lunar Regolith as the actual building materials.
The robots will add a binding polymer to essentially turn Moon dust into a kind of cement brick.
The goal is to find a suitable sized Lunar Crater in the Sea of Tranquility. NASA has discovered that partially shaded craters on the Moon offer multiple benefits.
Amazingly, while surface temperature on the Moon can vary from several hundred degrees in direct sunlight to over 200 degrees below freezing in darkness, craters and lava tubes temperatures are almost always 68 degrees Fahrenheit!
Incredible!
Using the natural protection of a Crater, the construction droids will fabricate a dome out of Lunar Regolith. The dome will cap an existing crater.
Voila!
We have a Moon Base.
Not only will this be the most affordable way to build it. But, the Moon materials will shield humans from radiation and the constant barrage of meteors that the lunar surface experiences.
It’s that time of year again.
I’m sure you all have your favorite scary movie.
But what if you couldn’t pick just one?
What if you breathed the horror genre like most breath air?
Well then, if you love it so much, why don’t you make a montage tribute to Horror on Film?
This is exactly what my friend Experience Film did five years ago. And it gets even better.
Experience Film made The Screaming of the Lambs while attending film school in Denver.
I meant to ask you Experience Film, in your time in the Rockies, did you ever make the Pilgrimage to Estes Park and tour The Stanley Hotel?
This is the haunted hotel Stephen King was staying at when he experienced the Nightmare that inspired him to write The Shining.

Hey everybody!
Check out what Scientists and Oceanographers right here in San Diego have discovered.
Seaweed that when added to cow food, will aid their digestion and result in a major reduction in Methane output.
Man, I need to start eating seaweed too!
😉
But, seriously though, this is a big deal.
So, go ahead America. Enjoy that Big Mac or Whopper.
For that matter, have an extra glass of milk.
And double the cheese to your next Pepperoni Pizza 🍕
And next time you’re driving through the Central Valley Farmland, forget the nose clip and air freshener.
Instead , roll down the window and take a big whiff of progress.
Scripps Institute, you just blinded me with SCIENCE 😎👨🔬👩🔬🐂🐮🐃

Spekboom is possibly the most important and versatile Succulent on planet Earth.
It has so many positive attributes that I am sure to miss a few.
The name is actually 2 words in the Afrikaans dialect, meaning Bacon Tree.
It is also known as Pork Bush or Elephant Bush, as Elephants find it delicious.
It is also edible for human consumption. It is loaded in vitamin C and antioxidants.
Spekboom is also unique in that it is capable of performing 2 separate types of photosynthesis.
This allows it to thrive in both wet and dry climates.
But, the attribute that drew my interest is that pound for pound Spekboom is the number one carbon scrubbing vegetation on the planet!
It is from the Eastern Cape of South Africa, but grows quite well here in San Diego.
We are a fire prone area, and Spekboom, like other Succulents, is fire resistant
This makes it an excellent choice for yards on slopes and canyons, as it can be used as a fire break to protect your home.
Well, my new friend For Tyeth does!
Please check out his Glaive Saber designs.
