- Forecasters warn of potentially "catastrophic" storm from Texas to the Carolinas. It's cold here too! Where's all that global warming we were promised?
- Seems like this might be necessary at this point.
- Do commodities get cheaper over time? Interesting but also think AI will play a role in lowering commodity prices in the near future.
- Can't see how anyone can defend fraud. At same time not sure if the entire national debt is because of fraud.
Thursday Flotsam and Jetsam
Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.
President Trump basically went to Davos and told the Europeans "You're doing it all wrong." America has offered to help protect you but our main job is to protect ourselves and for that we need Greenland. If you don't give it to us - we'll take it and Europe is on its own. Trump walked away with a deal for Greenland. But to also hear the rest of the administration say "You're doing it all wrong" on panel after panel was amusing. This was the real Nerd prom for many.

More college football thoughts and observations as we head into the offseason. Mostly about Indiana and Notre Dame but that's just the way it worked out.
Was having these thoughts anyway and figured may as well jot them down and post on Substack.

Today we await President Trump to speak at the WEF at Davos. This should be good. He may even announce the bombing of Iran. Who knows? He's that unpredictable.

The Indiana Hoosiers won the national championship last night and I feel good for them and the whole state of Indiana. Also last night the Tennessee Titans hired Robert Salah as their new head coach. Though I wish Saleh well - I am worried for him. First the Jets and now the Titans? Is he the NFL's Roto Rooter man?

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. day. Please remember the message of Dr. King and don't judge a person by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Put another way - don't be the type of person who judges a book by its cover.

With the news that Bo Nix has a broken bone in his ankle and is out for the rest of the year the path to the Super Bowl is now wide open for the winner of today's game between New England and Houston in Foxboro. Hate to jinx it but I really like the Pats chances. Despite everyone seemingly picking the Texans - there's a reason Vegas still has the Pats as the favorite.

Saturday Flotsam and Jetsam
Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.
Canada already had the very real danger of Alberta voting to become an independent nation but instead of going to Alberta to try and put out that fire Canadian PM Mark Carney went to China and lit a bigger one. Will the results of this "trade deal" with China see the province of Saskatchewan join with Alberta? With those two gone what's to keep British Columbia from declaring independence since they are now geographically cut off from the rest of Canada? Quebec has long wanted to be independent. How long before the other provinces follow suit? Are we witnessing the disintegration of Canada in real time?
