Greetings Terrans, just a quick post from me today – managed to get a squad of five Dire Avengers painted up:

These are the original Dire Avengers, mono-posed when they first came out in WD127 back in 1990. These are absolute classic Jes Goodwin sculpts, incredible for the period, and I think the fact that Aspect Warriors are largely unchanged 36 years later speaks volumes about the quality of the design work.

I stuck with the classic blue/bone armour, with yellow used to tie the shrine back to the Craftworld and a bit of red for interest. Not too much else to say about these guys really – 5 identical sculpts painted identically!

Next up, a spot of green…

Greetings Terrans, and may your next orbit of Sol be pleasant and fruitful. I have another bit of progress to report on my growing Eldar army – as promised, I used the holiday to crank out small group of RTB06 Harlequins. I have been holding on to these guys since the late 80’s, so good to finally get them painted properly! I found the sculpts to be pretty decent for the most part – quite delicate and complicated for the period, though a few do have badly misaligned faces, (on the vertical axis front-to-back due to mould slip), though luckily you can’t really see that unless you are looking head on. Paint-wise I treated each as an individual as per the original concept of Eldar Harlequins, rather than the more uniformed approach used by modern studio painters. Here they are, front and back:

And a final group shot:

And that’s it for this post, time to get stuck in to the Aspect Warriors. Stay tuned!

Greetings Terrans, I hope you all had a fabbo Christmas! I’ve managed to nab a bit of painting time & got a shove on for my remaining RT04 Eldar – nothing that I haven’t said on my last post, so this is just a bit of a photo dump.

First up, a duplicate of ‘Irbic Trueshot’:

Next, a pair of ‘Aedui Starborn’:

Next is ‘Commander Inghen Keentongue’:

And finally, ‘Belgae Strongwill’ (Pfnar pfnar 😊):

And that’s all the RT04s that I have! I’m low-key on the hunt for more – it would be nice to complete the set, but these seven will do for now:

Next on the bench – more late 80’s goodness with a handful of RTB06 Harlequins!! 🤡
