‘Tracey is one of the most supportive, generous, kind, loving people I know. By sharing her knowledge, experiences and passion she has made me not only a richer actor but a better person .
“Tracey Street is the reason why I am an actor today! She is a lovely, caring, nurturing person and that is reflected in her teaching. Encouraging and supportive her method of bringing the best out of people without them knowing it is incredible. Tracey is the best acting teacher I’ve ever had to date. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t know where I’d be right now.”
Bally Gill (Royal Shakespeare Company – current acting company member – Romeo (Romeo & Juliet), Salome, Macbeth, Coriolanus, Vice Versa) Represented by Jonathan Arun
“Tracey’s courses have been an absolute blessing for me. Attending the Acting 2 weekly workshops in between auditions and jobs was so beneficial. Her workshops offer you a great space to really engage in the work of great practitioners and Tracey’s undeniable talent for teaching. You’ll get the chance to explore the work of Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner and Patsy Rodenburg and really get to form an opinion and understanding of their teachings, whether you are new to their work or have 20 years experience of using their methods the Acting 2 course will be extremely beneficial for you.
Tracey as a person is extremely dedicated and supportive, she loves to help, give advice and listen. Outside of workshop hours she’ll make sure that you are up to date with what is going on in the industry with information about plays to see, castings to be aware of and any further sources of information that she has found online to support what we had been working on in class. I strongly recommend you join one of Tracey’s fantastic courses.
George Somner (Headlong Theatre/The National Theatre – People, Places & Things Tour, Bad Move – ITV, Grantchester – ITV & Watchman – CH4) Represented by The Artists Partnership, London
“I attended Tracey’s “audition prep” classes in Birmingham when I was doing the audition circuit for drama schools in London. Tracey and her workshops gave me a opportunity and outlet each and every week to share and explore my monologues in a safe space. I honestly feel without these classes I wouldn’t of been as prepared as I was. I had a really good sense of what to expect in an audition; from how to come across as the best version of yourself to what could be asked etc.
Tracey’s enthusiasm and passion really is infectious. When we explored our monologues we would really unlock the piece- Tracey knows how to get the truth coming through in your work. I remember performing my monologue for her and afterwards she said “okay now just tell me- stop acting” it’s advice like this that I took through out my whole training and stands me in good stead as actress now. I would recommend you to just go along and watch your confidence, passion and skills grow!”
Gemma Kenny (Recently graduated FT ALRA Acting Course) Represented by Diamond Management
“Tracey found a way of getting things out of me that I didn’t even know were there. She harnessed creativity that had previously lay dormant.
Tracey is creative, visionary, kind, encouraging & original. Working with her was always fun because you never quite knew what you might end up doing and that was immensely freeing.
I put those times down as the most fun, rewarding & educational. I still carry that sense of adventure & creativity in everything I do today.”
Keeran Ramsorran (Oddsocks Theatre Company)
“Tracey is wonderful when it comes to training actors. She helps to ease the nerves which can surface when auditioning and performing, by creating a wonderfully relaxed and fun working environment. Her approach to training is simple and effective and Tracey is very good at helping actors find truth and connection with text and character. Her workshops and classes are always consistently active and I always felt motivated and inspired.”
Emma Swann (Former Audition Skills student – Currently about to complete full time training at East 15 Acting School) Represented by Hunters Agency
“I was lucky enough to have found Tracey’s Foundation course 3 years back, during which time I discovered what a nourishing, formative environment her classes are. This led me to continue taking her Acting 2 and Auditioning Techniques classes and I can say that I have found in Tracey not only an exceptional teacher, but also a true mentor and an exceptional human.
There is no one who puts more passion and more dedication into their work than Tracey, who shows so much support… for all of her students, giving us so much of her time outside the classes – telling us about opportunities in the industry, giving us extra learning materials, recommending plays to read and shows to see, fitting time for extra sessions and extra-rehearsals.
Tracey and her classes taught me so much and opened up so many possibilities for me, it is a learning space that is incredibly supportive and challenging, at the same time.
I have so much love and gratitude for her guidance and for everything that her classes meant to me these three years, I would highly recommend any and all of her acting courses!”
Diana Stoica (2017 student) Currently training FT at Fourth Monkey, London.
“Tracey has been a wonderful teacher! She is intuitive, experienced, professional and you feel safe and secure to be able to push yourself within her classes. She has given me the confidence and opportunity to take on techniques and roles that have been challenging and exciting. She is also a lovely human being who wants to see you succeed and goes above and beyond to support her students! I would recommend Tracey’s Acting 2 class to experienced actors and professionals looking to push themselves and boost their confidence.”
Victoria Pritchard (2017 student)
“Tracey has been a truly inspirational coach and her love of her craft is infectious. I feel I’ve gained so much in confidence, knowledge and skills in acting by doing the Foundation Course this year. Met some very talented folk along the way and as a group, we bonded so well which I feel is down to Tracey’s exceptional skills, experience and friendliness. She gave us a safe place to draw us out of our comfort zones and to challenge ourselves. Thanks Tracey for being supportive and inspirational. See you in September! ”
Sharon Carr (2017 student)
“Tracey Street = Best acting coach/human I have ever had the pleasure to meet!
Tracey is exceptionally supportive, constantly willing to give advice and to share her knowledge. I have spent the past year receiving an email from her every week about acting videos to watch, plays to read and shows to see. It is so refreshing to meet someone who is as excited about theatre and learning as we all are as students. Tracey wants you to be the best you can be and its such a joy to be taught by her because she puts the work into her classes and its so obvious how much she cares. Thanks Tracey, I have had a wonderful year and I look forward to next year
💖

The very end of March saw the end of the 2016 2 week run (for the last 3 years) of

A PASSION FOR BIRMINGHAM
A PASSION FOR BIRMINGHAM directed & co-written by Artistic Director Tracey .
It was a tremendously successful & special project to be involved with. Audiences LOVED it – all 3 years there were waiting lists for tickets as it sold out the run. It was performed to approx 1300 people over the 3 years. There were many tears of sadness & pure joy throughout the shows – it made quite an impact.
Casts involved had a very special time on what was a very exciting & different style of theatre for many. Lots of new friendships were made and a lot of new artistic partnerships and collaborations have been born out of the project also, which is fabulously exciting to see.
To all of the casts, production team, crew and venue managers that were involved in A PASSION FOR BIRMINGHAM over the last 3 years – I thank you from the bottom of my heart & soul – thank you for making it such a special creative experience.
And if you came to see/experience it – a HUGE thank you too. IT WAS ALL FOR YOU!
Here’s a little slideshow of lots of fabulous moments from the show (with a few extras thrown in)…… ENJOY.
Following SOLD OUT runs for the past 2 years A PASSION FOR BIRMINGHAM is returning this Easter 2016 for one FINAL time.
