Wasps and Thorns

The ball rolled into the garden and Max hesitated before he got it out. The conifers had little spikes that stung his skin the last time he went in there. Also, Hilary Mclary from school said that wasps sometimes make nests in them, and if there was anything he was afraid of more than thorns, it was wasps. He didn’t want to believe her, she always said things like that and she smelled like cheese.
