See Ya, Texas!

Well…WE’RE MOVING!

There. I said it.

We are moving. Away from Texas.

Why? You, ask…

Well, for a really good reason.

Kris was just hired at Logos Bible Software to be a “Language Editor.” Basically, he is finally getting to use his degrees and do something he loves.  We are pretty excited about the transition as far as his happiness is concerned. If Kris is happy, Jayna and Elliot are happy, and that’s good news.  However, we are not super excited about the prospect of leaving our beloved Texas and everything that goes with it – friends and family, Tex-Mex, BBQ, and of course our lovely year-round (except this one) summer.  For those of you that don’t know, Logos is located in Bellingham, Washington.  Yeah, WASHINGTON. As in, the state. The one that is far, far away, and to a native Texan, might as well be Antarctica.

I know it made sound crude, but we are moving to the geographic butt crack of Canada, and to be honest I am not fond of wet, cold weather.

We are looking forward to all the wonders that WA holds (as told by others): outdoors, beautiful mountains, putting some roots down in the same town for longer than a year, and good hippie-freaks who eat grasshoppers and dirt, just like us.  So, while we are sad to leave what we have known as our home for our entire lives, we are happy to “try out” a new state and see how it fairs.  So get ready Washington, HERE WE COME!

So we have a bad habit…

Of not updating our blog very often. Sorry.

No, really, we are sorry.  Kris and I try very hard to keep people updated about where have been and what we are doing, and well, since the last announcement…you know, the one where I was pregnant? Well, let’s just say that there was a little someone who demanded our attention far beyond what we expected.

Which cliche would you like? “We haven’t slept in months.” “Your whole life changes when you have kids.” Or my personal favorite, “what the kid wants, the kid gets.”  To be honest, those are all the truth. It appears that in the realm of kids, those veteran parents out there knew what they were talking about, and we should have considered ourselves forewarned. Of course, to us, things were not “as bad” as some of those horror stories out there, but then again, we got lucky.  We got really lucky with a very laid-back healthy baby.  Not everyone can consider themselves as fortunate, and we do not take that for granted for one second.

As for updating our social media sites, that had to take a backseat.  I am not sure how all those parents out there do such a good job of posting pictures (I can’t even sift through them all to choose one), cute little anecdotal stories that accommodate their new little bundles, or tagging friends and family members when a beloved memory is captured.  I want to be like that, and one day I have I can get it together enough to be that way, because if I am this bad with the first one, well, you won’t even know about the others to come.

So please sincerely accept my apologies, and sit back and prepare for a whole slew of updates to come over the next few weeks. Our life is getting exciting again.

And if my apology will not suffice, please allow these adorable pictures to take off the edge. 🙂

We can finally say yes…

Yes. This is the answer to the long awaited question: Are you pregnant, yet?

Funny enough, we found out on Kris’ birthday. What a present, eh! At the moment, we’re 15 weeks into it and just starting to beat the woes of morning sickness. It’s been a fun, stressful, mind opening journey so far—and we know it’ll only get more intense as the new birthday draws near. With that said, all encouragement and funny pregnancy stories are welcome to be shared in comments below! 😉
