I watched the RH bill debate last Sunday night at ABS-CBN but decided not to finish it because of those anti supporters. My goodness! They were so very narrow-minded and they gave me a headache that night.
From what I understand, the bill is not about abortion. Besides, there’s really no one to kill. I just hope that those people who contradict the bill would understand the difference between the word contraception and abortion. I just really wanted to thrust a dictionary in front of them and let them look at those words.
During the debate, I’ve learned that the Vatican (even googled about it) was okay about it. If that’s the case, then it should be also okay here in the Philippines. The problem is the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is apparently too stubborn about it. I hate the fact that it seems they have “control” in this issue. If not for them, then that bill would have been passed now. I remember, one time, during the mass, the priest said that the bill will lead everyone into darkness and I was like, “What the f**k!”
The bill should be passed because of the fact that almost everyone is into pre-marital sex now which leads to unwanted pregnancy. Not only that, there are parents with large quantity of children that cannot afford to feed them. Also, it is a protection from incurable diseases like STD and HIV. I know abstinence might be an answer to prevent those but we have to face the fact of the inevitable.
So, WAKE UP!
