Don’t We All?

“Jesus wept”

More weight

In those 2 words

Than any will

Ever know

Words spoken

Or writ

Will never

Equal the Meaning

In a hope-filled

Troubled soul

Death and resurrection

Agony and ecstasy

One day I’ll know

The value of the price

He paid for me

Now all I have to offer

Is broken humanity

Holy Spirit

Help me take up my cross

Like someone helped Jesus at Calvary

So I can sense your power

Each coming day with liberty

And give You glory in this story

For all the world to see

John 11:35

Winter blues, a Change of Hue

So, chocolate lies, too. It tells me to be the summer Friday. No, I prefer a spring Sunday, when every message is erased, except the words Jesus wrote.

I still enjoy the rich, dark flavor and warm tea.

Hope is not hope until all hope is dead

Might as well think on Easter

Not cold winter’s dread

Paper hearts and shamrocks

I’ll shove to the side

Go straight to the tomb where hope rose alive

No, I won’t miss a beat if all live or die

I’ll stand up for Jesus and trust I survive

Place all in His hands should I fall or thrive

Victory words sung may sound despairing to some

But I hear a message of hope in each one

Honing the Groaning

I hear groans, suffering, pleading in every place

I watch ominous clouds rush to fill each serene, blue space

Across the world, I hear the cries

From people to hear and recognize

The voice creation longs to hold

My voice, too, among the fold

Echoes back, a sounding board

I hear a whisper, from where? The Lord?

My voice, mute. Against naked skin

No more unclothed. I’m engrafted in

I hear, but will I remember when

I feel the sounds of groaning men?

With no strength or power to end their pain

All I offer is be Born Again

While groans live on ‘til Jesus comes

I’ll grieve with hope until this earthly home

I trade for joy unspeakable upon this earth

For while I still grieve, I’ll never know why

Jesus would ever think I have any worth

He hears much more than these than I

Creator of heaven, earth and sky

Whatever it Takes Until He Takes Me

The Lord knew I didn’t want to go

So clouds spilled rain that turned to snow

Who doesn’t know snow helps gardens grow

Now I wait for the plow to show

No matter where the winds do blow

These weak hands hold a shovel or hoe

I’ll praise His name for this I know

His light shines through this hope-held soul

God’s first words to the darkness were, “Let there be light”

Jesus said “I am the light of the world”, in the dark of your night

Words heard in the morning now unfold

The rest of the story may never be told

Keep it Personal

“Salvation is a personal relationship between you and Jesus Christ.”

I said it. I still say it. I probably will say it until I die.

Do I believe it? I will always be me.

No one knows my story

Much less do I know yours

No one knows God’s full story

But what we read in His Word

What His Spirit reveals

In a heart that is His

A personal relationship with Him

To me, means this

Lay down my preference

Submit to His voice

Let Him write His story

As I give Him free choice

To not tell my story

But let Him tell His

With whatever tools and gifts

He chooses to give

The one thing He gave us

Was free will to choose

If I will to live my way

I will lose what I lose

If I follow Jesus

No matter how much it cost

I know it cost Him much more

Than what I ever Iost

I believe His free will

Led Him to the cross

So please make up your mind

Each day I’ll make mine

God made it personal

On both sides of time

God makes Himself personal

His Spirit, divine

Love makes mercy tangible

Hope makes everything rhyme

When my words don’t add up

To the sum you think fits

I wil trust that my Savior

One day personally

All things He will fix

Who Will Hang Around

No need now to hang around

Take what you need and leave

No need to sow on barren ground

Speak peace while you believe

Jesus hung around 6 hours

On a cross at Calvary

In 3 days left an empty grave so I

Can be one day where He now be

The one reason why I hang around

Is that you might one day see

Jesus hung around for you

And He hung around for me

3 days, 6 hours, to rid the curse

Of sin and death, can we

Hang around one more hour

And praise Him for having the victory?

But should one day I can’t be found

Well, know that Jesus knows that we

Are just hanging around together

Somewhere here or in eternity

Hard Hope

One can fast

More than food

Man eats

more

than needed

Does one set of footprints

Carry her

Or tears that

Loose her

Anchor

Obedience is

Far Better

Than words

Can ever tell

Her fast, complete

A volta sweet-

ly turned

One day

Will tell

Who is and was

Her hope and anchor

In her storm

Few know

Track Record

I know someone

Who keeps track

Of every line I write here

I know someone

Who keeps track

Of words I stored

Elsewhere

I know someone

Who keeps track

Of every word I ever spoke

And knows every one

I ever will

I know someone

With a good

Track record

Hey, I have a good

Reason

To keep still

Psalm 46:10, 139:4, NKJV

Stop

What if I just stopped

Really stopped

Trying to give what I have

To those who I think have not

What is the worst that could happen?

That’s what Jesus did

He stopped

Let them nail Him to a cross

Then said, “Father, Forgive them,

They know not what they do”

With nothing more to give

He willingly stopped. But none knew

In three days He would rise

Offer life to me and you

That’s what Jesus now asks

Each follower to do

Stop, forgive, and love all

The same way I love you

Can I stop? No

Not without shedding

All pride

You see, I’m just a weak vessel

Who let Jesus live inside

Splender

The bottom line is

There is no

Ordinary

No normal

No ho-hum

No blah

In fact

If there were

A bottom line

Wouldn’t I have found it

By now?

Words have to land

Somewhere!
