Dagos po! Tuloy Po! Welcome! Bienvenido! Bienvenue! Selamat datang!
This is an invitation to see the world anew. The ordinariness and routines of the everyday world seem to have numbed us gradually and unsuspectingly. We lose the wow of living, the awe of first times, the ohh of misgiving, and the ahh of understanding. We lose many other things that underlie our being, our becoming. Yet we continue. Yet we stumble. Yet we struggle. Yet we survive. Yet we are here. Yes, we are together. Whether we like it or yes, I am here with you, you are here with me, the sun rises to signal a new day and sets to end an old way, a flower blooms, a love grows, relationships born, life becomes meaningful, friends abound, places beckon, dreams near, and all other things, big or small, suddenly matter. We find each other… in dialogue… I say..
– a Bicolano, an advocate of alternatives, student of life, intimate storyteller, passionate lover, human rights activist, peace builder, volunteer (JVP, 17), a good son, atenista, chess and basketball player, a believer, a friend, and now a writer of “Under-Mining the Power of Communities: The Politics of Mining and Local Community in the Philippines”
then… I hold your hand or you hold mine (whichever).. let us journey together by clicking any categories on the left side.. Let the words talk back to you..
What do you see? What do you think? Let’s engage the world again, again and again.. Make it a habit by visiting this blog everyday, week, month, year.. Our moment together would always be special, each time as if the first time.

Greetings, MenSAb! Welcome to the Peace group (Anti-War). Not a lot of deep thougth on my main blog. Not yet anyway. Some of my thoughts from my younger days are on my poetry blog which I have a link to on my main blog. I don’t have it all posted yet. If you want to check out some peace talk you might look into MennoLink.org, but there’s a membership fee. Some of the lists might be free, I don’t know, I’ve been a paying member for years. I look forward to comparing and sharing.

Interesting yet enigmatic site. Another dreamer like me. If only people could see things from a different perspective.

Hello, Menandro.
Greetings from Jakarta, Indonesia!
Read your op-ed article in Jakarta Post which led me to this blog. You might be one out very few young people out there that take great concern not only in matters of your own country, but also of Southeast Asia. Keep up the good work!
Looking forward for more of your writings.
Regards,
Marisa

A most interesting commentary on the CTF report. The issues at stake are clearly much wider than the report’s findings. What do we do to attend to the rights of the victims or their relatives? How do we deal with the hurt that also comes from the insensitive bargaining that goes on between the major players in the drama? The cries of the tortured still haunt me and will continue to do so until I cease to breathe. If you send my your email I shall send an email copy of my comments on the CTF report and its future. regards James Dunn

Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky.
