Another baby is married, and we have gained another daughter-in-law… But, to be honest, we have considered her one of ours for a long time now. Ariana is wonderful, and we love her so much. She is perfect for Josh. He has found a keeper, for sure!
Originally, Josh and Ariana were planning a small courthouse wedding, with just immediate family in attendance, with a BBQ afterward. He has NEVER liked being the center of attention, so this is what would make him happy… But then other people started wanting more. More people were wanting to come, other people wanted other things done. At one point, Josh told me that it felt like the wedding was for everyone else, and not for him and Ariana… In the end though, it was a beautiful wedding, and perfect for them.
After things got too big for the courthouse, they were planning on having it in someone’s backyard. But then it started to get too big for that (I think the guest list was up to around 50 by then???). Josh was stressing about it to us, and I suggested reserving one of the covered spaces at like Feyrer Park or Eagle Fern park. Josh perked up at that. 🙂 He and Ariana went to look at them. Feyrer Park was a quick no, because the spaces were too much out in the open, and he didn’t want to be on display. The next day, they drove out to Eagle Fern, and loved them! ❤ They decided that they were having the wedding there, and it was perfect! So them!
The weather was gorgeous! You couldn’t have asked for better! The sun was shining, and because of all the trees, it never felt too hot. Glorious day, really! … By the time we got there, things were pretty much set up, and there wasn’t anything for us to do. We just stood around, chatting, and I went to get some photos of people.
They didn’t have a wedding rehearsal, so once the wedding ordained lady got there, we did a quick run-through on what we were supposed to do… I even had a part… Just days before the wedding, Josh asked if I would walk him down the aisle. ❤ I was so touched! It started out with me walking Josh down the aisle, then the bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc walked down, and then Ariana was walked down by her dad.
The ceremony itself was short and sweet. Josh looked so handsome in his blue suit, and Ariana was gorgeous! She had 3 bridesmaids; Amanda, and her two best friends. Josh only had 2 groomsmen. Jared was his best man, and his best friend (and business partner), Tyler, was also a groomsmen. They all looked wonderful!
After the ceremony, I was about to head to the restroom, when I found out that Josh and Ariana wanted me and Ariana’s mom to be their witnesses on their marriage license. I can’t begin to tell you how touched I was and how happy it made me. ❤ I loved being a part of things, and that they wanted me to be. *happy sigh* … So I followed them to the table where they were set up. We got it all signed, and got some pictures.
Josh and Ariana then wanted to do their private vows. Josh is not one for doing these things in a crowd, and that is totally okay. Josh let me tag along, and they also had their photographer there as well (Ariana’s sister-in-law). There is a bridge where they wanted to do it. The wedding officiator drove us there, and then left. Josh and Ariana went to the middle of the bridge to say their vows, while Jessica and I stayed a distance away and took some photos. Then, when they were done, we did a mini photoshoot, and got some amazing shots! ❤
We then walked back to the A-frame, where I made a quick and needed pit-stop. *lol* … Then it was time to eat. Relatives of Ariana run a taco truck or something like that, and they were making authentic tacos. (We helped pay for that. ❤ ) The food was good, and it was nice visiting while we ate.
After we were done eating, Ariana’s brother, Jordon, took up the microphone. He started out with a speech about the wedding, and soon a ton of people were taking the microphone and talking. I have never seen anything like it. They kept trying to get Joe and I to say something, but neither of us were brave enough, especially since we didn’t know too many of the people there. Jared and Amanda both spoke, though. Jared had everyone laughing, and Amanda brought on the tears. ❤ (I was able to get them both on video.)
They had the father/daughter dance, and then Josh and Ariana danced. They also did a big toast, and played some games… but mostly, everyone just visited. It was really nice.
The day could have been difficult on Josh, because of wanted to stay out of the lime-light… But he took care of that with some liquid courage. *lol* I could tell he was a bit buzzed, when I saw him dancing with Ariana’s mom. *lol* … I really think that they both had a great time, and it was a wonderful, down to earth wedding. It was perfect. ❤
As the wedding was winding down, people started inviting themselves over to Josh and Ariana’s apartment for an “after party”. I think Jordon instigated it. He is quite the character. *lol* … I doubt it was originally in the plans, but Josh and Ariana rolled with it. Jared and the girls all ended up there as well. I hope they had fun!
