Summer’s coming back again

Summer’s coming back again,
and with it some of my favourite memories
You came in summer,
and stayed through Autumn, winter, Spring.
The next summer’s almost here now
Will you stay and make me more memories
for next summer?
Otherwise I’ll have to spend my life running away
from last year’s warm memories

Half a thought of love

I’ll never find them again,

they went by so quickly.

Half a thought of love,

a goodbye in the rain.

They slipped away like last year

And they wont be back again.

Half a lifetime’s gone,

days wasted treated with disdain.

Half a lifetime’s hard to get,

and it wont be back again.

I’ll use my life

I’ll use my love

til only empty will remain.

Nothing in a grave of nothing.

And it wont be back again

A moment in a year

There is no longer a moment in a year that

doesn’t belong to you –

I’ve lived every feeling and every season and felt

every shade of blue

I’ve closed my eyes on nights so black — there’s

no word dark enough to say

I’ve warmed inside on days so full of love that

will never go away

Every moment –

Every day –

Belongs to you.

I’m resigned to you love.

you

The beauty in this world

the beauty in this world

I’ve been thinking
about the beauty in this world
darling mine
Sometimes it’s overpowering
when
too much beauty
surrounds you at once.
Like now,
this comfort of an open fire
with gentle light,
the satisfaction of F. Scott Fitzgerald,
each word just right.
Franz Schubert
softly soothing my doubt
about
how life can go on
without
you.
I’ve just been thinking
about the beauty in this world
darling mine.
Yours wins now
and every time.

Beautiful things live in this forest

I don’t know the name of this wild fruit that grows in the forest but the local bird life love it. It’s pretty though

a

A green tree frog blends in amazingly well and you have to look really hard to see them. It took me two day of slow searching and listening to find this guy who is blending in so well with the leaf that is probably his home

B

The bird wading through the water is a “Pied Heron” and they spend a lot of time wading through the water looking for a fish to eat. They’re very fast when they strike and actually swim underwater to catch their prey.

C

I made some recordings  of the wildlife and will try and insert that into this blog so that it might give you a better feel of what it’s like inside a tropical rainforest.

walking at night1

The lover
loved,
leaves.
Leaving midnight to grow old
empty glasses
crumpled sheets
wiping love from his lapel
straightening his conscience
he enters loneliness
once again.
Warm
has left
warm,
until next time.
He walks
following the stream of his own breath
on down darkness
to a dream
about
warm and warm
forever

Flamingo

I’ve been working with something I love working with,

and that’s …natural light.

It does mean using a lot slower shutter speed on my camera and a big chance for blur to occur

if the subject moves in that time frame.
This is a recent photo from some time I got to observe a flamingo in natural light and setting.
The flamingo was quite aware that I was there and observing her
and allowed me to get within a reasonable distance
and also seemed like the flamingo was spending her time observing me.
It was a very heartwarming, grounding and rewarding experience !

the moon tonight

I’m pretty excited about this shot, because it’s the first time that

I’ve been able to take a clear shot of the moon that didn’t just look like

a roundish bright shape in the sky.

The lens is just a 55mm-250mm, the same lens that I take most of
my nature shots with.
I had a lot of fun tonight doing this,
I hope you enjoy !

my companion today

I’ve been feeling pretty sad and down about different natural disaters

that have been happening in my part of the world lately, and really

felt like it was all getting to me.

So today, I took my lunch and went to sit with my old friend “the ocean”

and this pelican came right up to me and really had a positive effect on me.

This is a photo of the guy that ended up sharing my lunch with me,

and helping me to see more clearly again.
