Snakeskin With Tutorial
Hey, I hope you all had a good weekend! We've been busy packing out of our house and finally got moved into the hotel yesterday so will be here for the next week until we fly out.
Today I have a tutorial for snakeskin, though. If you've been around here a while you might remember the snakeskin I did several months ago, if not you can see it here. While that one turned out ok, I wasn't really satisfied with it and have been thinking of different ways to do the print without a stamp or netting. I came across this video and it worked out better than I thought it might. I did it a bit different, sponging on the color instead of coloring in each scale afterwards, but did follow the basic idea.
If you would like to see the tutorial keep reading.

Tweed Nails With Tutorial
Hi guys! I'm back again with Rumple's Wiggin' today for some nail art. I already had it on so it seemed a waste to just remove it. I saw a tweed design in one of my Japanese nail magazines, I wish I had it to take a picture and show you guys, and loved it so I finally got around to trying it.
Obviously, the base is OPI Rumple's Wiggin' and the rest is acrylic paint. I used yellow, white and black for this one. I started off with the yellow making a few lines horizontally and vertically, some crossing each other.
Next, do the same with white.
Then, with black.
Top coat and you're done.
Then only thing I would have done differently with these is add more colors and lines, other than that I really liked it. Have you tried tweed nails before?

Hello Kitty With Monsters Tutorial
First off, I apologize for the horrid cuticles, the weather here has not been kind and snowboarding doesn't help either. Second, this isn't as in depth as I usually do my tutorials but if you have been around and have seen my other HK tutorials it is pretty similar to those. Plus, I sort of forgot to take pictures of everything but I am sure you will be able to follow along.
When I saw the monster designs for some of the new Hello Kitty stuff I knew I had to do nail art to match. My base is OPI Skull & Glossbones. Start off by making the basic shapes with black acrylic paint. I am only doing Hello Kitty's face on my ring fingers and the rest will be the plain monsters.
After you have the shapes, start filling in. I always do the white for HK's head first and work out from there. The monsters with the pointed horns are green and the crab looking ones are red and blue but you could do them any color you like.
Finish filling in and adding details like the eyes, mouths, rosy cheeks, and HK's bow.
Add top coat and you are done.
Pictures of my right hand, not so great but I loved this one so much I wore it over a week! I did add some gold holographic glitter the next day but didn't get pictures of it with that.
I do a lot of Hello Kitty designs so would you like to see every step of how I do them all or would you just prefer the pictures since most of them are done the same way?

Pink And Black Plaid Tutorial
A super quick and easy design today but one that I think looks really nice. If you have problems making straight lines my advice is get a very long striping bush, load it with paint and lay the brush on the nail then drag it off. Instead of trying to draw a line the brush will do it for you.
Start with a pink base, I used OPI Cherry Blossoms because of the shimmer in it.
With black acrylic paint make a thin and a wide line down each nail.
Now, with pink acrylic paint make a line on each black line.
Lastly, make a few thin black lines across each nail, top coat and your done.
I hope you all have a Happy Valentines Day if you celebrate it!

Hello Kitty As A Reindeer Tutorial
Wow, I can't believe 2011 is almost over! I guess that makes this my last post of the year. Today I have a tutorial from the 12 Days of Christmas challenge. Hillary requested this one so here it is!
Start with the background of your choice. I used China Glaze For Audrey and topped it with OPI Paris Couture For Sure. Then with black acrylic paint make an oval on the ring finger and a half circle on the side of the index finger.
Add triangles on the index and ring finger to make her ears and on the remaining fingers make two slightly curved lines next to each other to start forming the reindeer tracks.
Now to add the antlers, just make two thin lines on top of the head, in between the ears, and a shorter line branching off of those on each side.
Make a small white oval shape in the black for her face. You do not want to fill in the entire oval, be sure to leave enough room at the top for the reindeer details.
If you have made it this far you are in the home stretch! Take a light brown and fill in the antlers and part of the ears. Then with a darker brown and fill in the rest of the head.
With the light brown make a small oval above Hello Kitty's face for the deer nose. Add in her eyes with black ovals, lines for whiskers and a yellow oval for her nose.
Make a small black dot in the light brown ovals to finish the deer nose. Now, you can stop here or you can add in a bow. It's pretty easy but I do it in a few layers. First, with black, make a dot then a triangle connecting to it on each side and fill it in with white, then red and when all that dries I outline the circle and add in a curved line on each triangle.
Top coat and you have Hello Kitty dressed as a reindeer!
Hope you have a Happy New Year!!!
