I was spending my afternoon break with Bandit, chilling on the couch and confirming who the Good Boy is around here. Come to think of it, I think he’s he and the rooster are the only male Sims in the household, so the competition for the title is slim – especially considering that the rooster can be quite grumpy
Just as Barbara had predicted, Cha Cha grew into an adult horse during the night
I found her eating and looking quite pleased with herself when I went to clean the stables in the morning. She really is a stunning horse and I look forward to training her. Maybe, if I do really well, Barbara will let me enter competitions with her
Of course, we’ll have to get to know each other a lot better before that’s even relevant, but one can dream…
A loading screen later, and I had arrived at Pax Sanctuary in Chestnut Ridge
I was greeted by Barbara and Bandit, who both recognized me right away
Barbara: Welcome back to Pax Sanctuary – We’re all very happy to see you
Marilyn: Thanks – It’s good to be back
There’s just something about Barbara that makes you feel like you’ve come home and that you’ve been dearly missed, even if you’ve only ever been here once before for an afternoon
Barbara: Let’s get some breakfast. I’ve made pancakes
Monday arrived and as all other Mondays of my teenage life, I had to attend high school. The watcher sent me alone – Frankly, I think she’s just as tired of my high school experience as I am myself. Mischief made it sound so easy to graduate early – I guess it is if you’ve been a played Sim your entire life – I mean with all the bonus traits and stuff
Having just the basic two traits and the aspiration bonus trait, I struggle more than I would like to admit. It’s hard, but I am improving.
Another day – another cruel note in my locker

I think I might be going numb from all the harassment. Instead of sadness, it is as if there’s a big void within me that just keeps getting bigger and bigger from every mean comment and every condescending stare
That void scares me more than anything. I don’t want to feel numb or lost with my feelings. I want to embrace them – understand them
My attempt to simply ignore the gossip and the bullies seems to have no effect. I was hoping that the busybodies would give up out of boredom. I was horribly wrong
Fall came and went, and they are still whispering and gossiping about me – sending me side eyes in the passing, leaving cruel notes in my locker
Back home in Willow Creek I had barely unpacked before Claire – a girl from school was at our door. I won’t exactly call Claire a friend of mine – Our relationship is more like a mutual agreement to not hate each other and get the best out of having bad compatibility
By now my parents seemed to understand that if it didn’t involve nature, horses or other animals I wouldn’t be participating, so for our last day in Chestnut Ridge they didn’t bother trying to drag me along for whatever they had planned.
It would have been nice if they had asked if they could go with me – to see their daughter experience true joy and character development, but now I’m starting to sound like our Watcher, so yeah… I’ll just be happy that they didn’t stop me from going with Barbara to visit one of her friends
Being a teenager, I guess it would be odd if my parents and I found ourselves on the same page regularly, but I can not fathom how they thought I would find it fun to accompany them to a nectary for the entire day. I’m not even old enough to taste any of the stuff made there
Leslie: Oh – I don’t think anyone would mind if you took a sip from my glass now and then. What do you say, Jimmy?
Jimmy: *annoyed mumbling*
Marilyn: Mum… I don’t want to spend my day with snobby nectar enthusiasts. This was a trip for me, remember?!
