Worth a watch of this excellent introduction to an impending Caldey Island investigation.

IIRC I introduced a Caldey Island Survivor to the RLSS and was under the impression that a RLSS review initiated by the RLSS CEO Dani Wardman resulted in change.

But then of course Dani left.

And all her efforts were knowingly reversed or not acted upon by those who followed her.

Thus it sounds like whatever the RLSS came up with on Caldey Island has not been acted upon in any real sense. Just window-dressing.

It also sounds like the ‘audits’ were a waste of time – just as the contemptible audits by the CSSA of the De La Salles were a waste of time.

‘Contemptible’ is too mild a word for what the CSSA did. ‘Cover up’ is closer. But even that doesn’t hit the mark.

In my view the head of the CSSA should be dismissed and investigated personally for claiming the De La Salles were ‘outstanding’ in his fake audit.

There are other similarities:

Both the Caldey Island monks and the De La Salle brothers were involved in systemic, organised Catholic child abuse.

Organised paedophile rings.

It sounds like Andrew is making progress on the Caldey Island scandal and I look forward to hearing more.

Anything I can help with, Andrew, do say.

In particular, the state of play with the RLSS and the CSSA – I can tell you what is going on there. Although you may know already I can give you my perspective if it’s helpful.

Off hand I think you’re ahead of me on my investigations of the crimes of the De La Salles, and how  the RLSS and the CSSA responded. But pleased to share any information with you.

And to publicise your cause.

For example the De La Salles had an organised paedophile ratline for their monks to escape through to France.

And the scale of the DLS child abuse was – notably with Brother Solomon – ‘industrial’ in quantity.

A  Caldey Island Survivor once told me there were aspects of abuse on that island that would be described today as ‘trafficking’.

That was my experience, too, with the DLS.

The Catholic Laity – the Knights of St Columba – were also heavily involved.

So, today, the big challenge for the RLSS is 1) Are they going to continue to enable abusers or

Do the right thing and

2) Treat them as the criminals they really are.

It’s not too late for them to make amends.

My big concern is the RLSS  will continue to cop out in the time-honoured Catholic way of ‘Deny, Delay, Obfuscate’

But – as Andrew says, whether the RLSS continues to provably protect the bad guys or not…

 Justice is coming.

It needs to be PUNITIVE for all  those who have aided child abusers, directly or indirectly.

LIKE FATHER TED, BUT NOT FUNNY

Just processing my childhood memories of Catholic clerical ritual abuse. Conclusion:  They involved sad, pathetic, self-important, middle-aged priests who got off on having power over gullible people (the Catholic faithful)  and children, especially.

These secret rituals were designed to intimidate the vulnerable. Such rituals require an audience, of course. After all, it can’t be much fun having a black mass on your own. So, by definition, they depend on scaring the shit out of the congregation. 

And I’m afraid they sometimes worked.  A family member had two psychotic episodes as a teenage when he was aged around seventeen. These seem to have been caused by the disgusting things he witnessed at these rituals. It  was just too much for him to handle.

By comparison, when I saw similar revolting acts, it affected me differently.  My reaction was always ‘These men are truly evil and they can eff off.’ I believe that’s what saved me from psychosis.

These secret rituals arise out of clericalism and inspire the necessary ‘inner circles’.  Priests  believe they have been specially chosen by God, they’re arrogant elites, and this clericalism has been singled out by critics as a prime cause of Catholic child abuse. 

I have a video which bears this out. In it, one smiling, triumphant priest attempts to bless Survivor Rafael, despite his protests to stop. 

Secret rituals worked just like the Latin Mass. Latin sounds mysterious and big deal. The words don’t seem so impressive in English. But Latin suggests something truly magical is happening. 

It’s not.

The rituals I witnessed as a kid  were like a low-budget version of Eyes Wide Shut. But with no Stanley Kubrick to direct them. Priests raided the dressing-up box in a similar way. Wearing ‘magical’ robes, they needed to inflate their egos, and be venerated by the faithful. 

That’s my abiding childhood memory of priests.

Today, such Catholic ritual crimes still need to be fully exposed. However organised systemic Catholic abuse is already proven, so we’re on our way.

Until such time as the criminals are fully exposed, the best way forward is to take away the priests’ power. 

How do we do that? 

NEVER, EVER see them as these scary magicians. Even if they can cause psychosis. 

Mock them.

Take the piss out of them.

Take away their power.

They would dearly love to be seen as Merlin or Gandalf. Just look at the way they act in church. It’s pure theatre.

In fact, they are still seen as sorcerers in some parts of the world such as  Ballina, Ireland, with Father Foy. Google him and you’ll see what I mean. People are alive today who believe Father Foy could walk on water. I watched devout Catholics making Druidic offerings on his grave even though he was defrocked. Not for child abuse, though, but alcoholism. He must have been very drunk to annoy the Catholic Church well known for its hard drinkers.

 It’s like Father Ted. But it’s not  funny. 

We kids gave up playing ’Secret Seven’  and ‘Famous Five’  – with secret societies/inner circles  – when we were about ten. But priests  play ‘Secret Seven’ and ‘Famous Five’ their entire lives. 

Joining secret societies is clear evidence of their immaturity.  You may not know about them because they’re secret. But I can assure you they did and still do exist.  

It’s not just Opus Dei and the Catholic Knights.

We altar boys mocked priests as much as we dared. We called ourselves the Rhubarb Club (from the Goon Show) and we practised resistance and sabotage on them wherever we could. Including detonating a home-made pipe bomb from the lethal chemistry sets of that era. Even as a kid I knew ALL  priests were liars, perverts and fakes. There are no exceptions. Just convincing actors and actors who don’t care about their image. I knew five priests intimately, too intimately, including a Bishop, so that is a reasonable assessment.  But I had to wait until I was 16 to escape them by leaving home. 

Every priest I’ve met as an adult is cut from  an identical cloth.They’re ALL the same dubious characters. Once again – there are no exceptions. And none of them are remotely funny, unlike Father Ted. The Bishops especially have conspired to thwart the Elliott Report reforming the Church and Survivors have paid the price. These Bishops, especially, deserve  the fate of Bishop Brennan. And worse. 

Father Ted writer Graham Linehan told me once that he was inspired by my character the Blitzspear . He wanted it to dive down into his school playground and rescue him. The Blitzspear came from my story Nemesis – a famous, black comedy, mocking  the Catholic Church.  It was a science fantasy version of the cruel and evil Spanish Inquisition with its horrific tortures. Now what could possibly have inspired me to write it as a young man?  Nemesis has  proved so popular, the series is still in print today, decades later. Because of demand, a new Collectors’ edition comes out every couple of years.

So I’m clearly not alone in my thinking and my experience. 

So maybe that’s the best way forward – to continue mocking these filthy animals whether they’re carrying out secret rituals, hiding in plain sight, or pretending to be normal.  And show them up as the scumbags they ALL are.  

And before you say ‘Yeah, but I know this really wonderful priest, he couldn’t possibly…’ . No. Uncomfortable as it may be for you, there are NO  exceptions. You can’t spin this away. Five priests, five child abusers says I’m right. And I haven’t even talked about the De La Salle monks.

THE CRIMES OF THE DE LA SALLES – UPDATE JAN 9

The current situation with the De La Salles is volatile.

To put it mildly.

I’m not going to make it worse by providing details. Yet. It’s too soon.

And the De La Salles are provably cunning, extremely talented and dangerous enemies of Survivors.

Three times, at least, they’ve outwitted me and other Survivors:

1) The lie to the media about a promised investigation.

2) Encouraging the RLSS to have a national enquiry into their crimes. Then cancelling it.

3) Their recent response to my latest bid for justice for myself and other Survivors.  Currently they’ve stone-walled the RLSS!

The tried and tested technique of the Catholic Church at which the De La Salles are masters is ‘Deny, Delay, Obfuscate’. Described by the CEO of the RLSS as ‘Dealing with the DLS is like wading through treacle.’

I suspect they will try it one more time. Whether the RLSS will ‘reluctantly’ go along with it and accept further obfuscation remains to be seen.

But they know I’m waiting in the wings for a full report.

Perhaps it’s finally time for the Truth.

Will I and other Survivors win Round Four?  We’ll see.

It’s worth remembering that there must be, on my blog, 100 allegations of serious physical and sexual abuse  of children by the De La Salles outstanding and unanswered.

Many involving systemic, organised abuse for which there is evidence.

Hardly a month goes by without a new De La Salle Survivor getting in touch with me privately with a new, horrifying and unanswered allegation of child sexual abuse by these ‘holy’ men.

I suspect it’s because as Survivors get older they’re more likely to open Pandora’s Box.

So an ageing population of baby boomers is actually bad news for the De La Salles.

It’s going to get worse.

Maybe it’s time the De La Salles threw in the towel?

A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS

Last night, I had a lively debate with a Catholic Safeguarding Officer about the merits and possible demerits of a Forum such as this.

At the same time, the RLSS, the Religious Life Safeguarding Service, have actually welcomed this Forum and will contribute to it in due course. That’s great news!

Different opinions on such sensitive subjects are healthy.  So I respect the Safeguarding Officer’s critical view and I enjoyed our conversation, not least because she is very supportive of Survivors in other respects.  

However, it was triggering because she was – albeit unintentionally – suppressing a Voice for the Voiceless.  Reminding me of all those people, primarily family members,  I complained to as a kid who tried to suppress my Voice calling for Justice. They used a variety of methods to silence me. I regularly resisted and they regularly failed in what became a long term running battle throughout my childhood.

They failed when I was eleven, so I doubt anyone could possibly persuade me to cancel my plans today. Thus I was a little taken aback that anyone should consider it. I’m immovable. And so is she. I guess it’s two Celts meeting in a head-on collision.  Neither of us can budge in our point of view and that seems to be the history of our country. There is no room for compromise.

A good friend of mine from Northern Ireland summed that up as only the Irish can: ‘With me, it’s all duck or no dinner.’

But today, with this FB page,  I have a platform where I can’t be silence by anyone, ever again, no matter how well meaning.

And that’s why it’s so important. I’m finally free and I hope others will be, too.

I’ve asked the Safeguarding Officer to contribute her critical view, but in the meantime this is a summarised version  of what she told me which I hope I have written down correctly.

She feels strongly that Forums for Survivors – like mine –  are dangerous and triggering for vulnerable Survivors because there is no professional back-up for them.

I’m sure this must be based on her own experience as a Professional, so I take her view seriously and I don’t dismiss it, even though I fundamentally disagree with it.

In her view, Trauma Intuition, Trauma Information and Trauma Awareness should be left to trained professionals. Untrained people talking about Trauma and giving ad hoc advice on a Forum could be dangerous for vulnerable Survivors.  

In response, I’m aware of two similar Boarding School Survivors FB sites which seem to work fine without such problems. Doubtless there are many more. Self-Help groups in every walk of life  are well established and I see no reason why Catholic Survivors should be any different.

It’s a way of empowering Survivors and giving us a sense of community. Not least because  Catholic Safeguarding itself has let Survivors down as the Safeguarding Officer would be the very first to acknowledge.

In Australia, they have Broken Rites https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_Rites.  But in the UK we have nothing comparable.

So we Survivors have no choice but to go it alone and do the job the Professionals admit they have failed in.

And vulnerable Survivors are STILL likely to be at risk even with professional expertise. That’s my first-hand observation. Time and time again, I saw Professionals seriously slow things down to the detriment of a Survivor I was helping. I bowed to the Professionals’ supposed expertise. I was told to back off by the Professionals and I did. That was a huge mistake. So never again!

Survivors have to take back our power.

We may lack professional training but we have life experience and common sense which can often be better and wiser than the Professionals.

Relevant to this, it was reported at IICSA that a Catholic Survivor, furious at his childhood treatment by the De La Salles, had tried to self-harm outside their Oxford offices under terrifying and graphic circumstances. Catholic Safeguarding (the SCOE) and DLS Safeguarding  intervened and prevented a tragedy.

If, at the time,  that Survivor had read a Survivor’s Forum about the crimes of the De La Salles  he might have been encouraged to self-harm. But I  think it  far more likely that he would have received friendship and support – such as I’ve seen on my X platform when a Survivor was threatening to self-harm – and may have calmed down.

More recently, I recall another Survivor of Catholic abuse lost the plot big-time. It was fairly shocking to witness. He had been an activist but had to retire. I knew him well and I doubt a Forum would have made any difference to him. Sadly, I could sense (with my own intuition) he was heading for a breakdown anyway.

But most of us are as level-headed  and responsible as anyone else in society and our Voices on Forums should not be discouraged because of a vulnerable minority.

My message to Professionals is that we Survivors should actually be in charge of you.

We should be calling the shots, not Professionals, for the reasons I’ve briefly referred to and because of the constant failure of Professionals.

They have lost their authority and the right to direct us. We have to supervise them. That is the future. There are numerous Survivors with the relevant talents to achieve this.

It’s a radically different way of looking at things and it has to happen.

Usually,  when matters are left to Professionals nothing gets done. Truly. It’s why I featured the Survivor Awards – to honour the few Professionals who actually made a difference. AFAIK, there are only token Survivors on Safeguarding Boards and their voice is ineffectual.

That said, mindful of the Safeguarding  concerns that the Safeguarding Officer  has raised, at some point I should probably pin some ‘Resources’, especially if anyone has a particular need. 

Stressing to readers that  if you need help, don’t suffer in silence. And stating the obvious about calling the police and getting a therapist. I can even  recommend a therapist agency – go for an Irish one because only they understand just awful the Catholic Church is. If you’re skint, call the Samaritans. That’s what I did many years ago. It worked just as well as a therapist. And cost me nothing.

It will be good to see what the RLSS has to post on the subject.

Between us all we should get a consensus.

Ultimately, despite our differences, we are all on the same side. The enemy are the Child Abusers and there’s a helluva lot of them in the Catholic Church – hence why I started this FB page.

To sum up, in my view, self empowerment such as on this FB  Forum outweighs any dangers. Survivors  should be talking to each other. Communities work.

EXPOSING CATHOLIC CRIMES

I think this will be more Survivor-friendly and simpler than my blog as it will enable Survivors to post threads on different subjects. In time, it could be an interactive Forum – so do feel free to post on there on anything you like pertaining to Catholic abuse crimes.

It could be your testimony. Where you get advice on taking legal action. How that works. The procedure on reporting to the police and so on. Recovered Memories and how they work. Canon Law – the dark secret at the heart of the Catholic Church that Canon Lawyers dismiss as ‘irrelevant’. But it is not.

Survivors are starved of information, notably because of the poor showing by Catholic Safeguarding who have refused to run such a Forum.

It will take a while, but subjects I’d like to cover include THE ELLIOTT REPORT… Analysing the Catholic Church’s clever use of of ‘Deny, Delay, Obfuscate’ to resist Survivors.. The role of ritual abuse in the Catholic Church – a subject no one dares talk about because SRA isn’t meant to exist. But. from personal experience, I can assure you it does…. The Laity, notably the Knights of St Columba.

But I’d really like to hear from other Survivors and their experiences, positive as well as negative. Maybe different religious orders to the De La Salles. Are they better or worse?

I’d certainly like to hear from champions of the Catholic Church, too. Any actual positive achievements of this Church. Maybe the RLSS? They are very welcome to write and talk about their achievements, information that Survivors would find valuable and where I may have it wrong in my accusations against them. I don’t believe in censorship. So it will be published without redaction.

Because currently I doubt many Survivors even know the RLSS exist because they keep such a low profile.

Yet every week I receive heart-rending tales of abuse from Catholic Survivors. I received one this morning that I found particularly upsetting. They write to me because they don’t know where else to go. I’m VERY happy to help, and I always treat them in confidence, but it is a shocking state of affairs for 2026. So over to the RLSS for a response.


Here’s hoping the New Year will be a good one for all Survivors!

THE SURVIVOR AWARDS 2026

Thanks to so many Survivors and Supporters who nominated the Gamechangers who have made a positive difference to us Survivors of child sexual abuse.  Our battles for justice with the Catholic Church, Catholic schools and homes, Catholic Safeguarding agencies and secular organisations sometimes seems endless, but we would have got nowhere without these Gamechangers, these wonderful people who have fought so passionately on our behalf.

Usually Survivors are treated by Safeguarding Officers in a condescending and patronising manner, sometimes even with cold indifference, concealing passive aggression, more like we are victims, dubious claimants or traumatised mental patients.  And that is how most of them secretly prefer us Survivors to be: compliant zombies so grateful for their faux words of mostly patronising guff.

Provably, Safeguarding agencies, like the CSSA and the RLSS rarely consult Survivors on important matters regarding childhood abuse and that is a national disgrace, knowing they are wilfully ignoring the recommendations of the Elliott Report which said clearly to the Catholic Church, ‘LISTEN to Survivors!’ They haven’t.

And our voices and our opinions are the one that should be listened to first. 

Not the so-called experts, not the Safeguarding agencies and, above all, not the Catholic Church and its organisations who are the prime source of child sexual abuse and who have marked their own homework claiming they have reformed and are now holy once again and no longer sexually abuse children.

So they tell us.

All of the above pretend to change, especially after IICSA, but it’s a lie.

Some of the ten nominations for change are my personal choices, but many are nominations from other Survivors and they have taken priority in my list.

She regularly has Survivors on her show. Her exposure of the Caldey Island child sexual abuse scandal led to a major investigation. A recent interview with me regarding child sexual abuse by the Knights of St Columba led immediately to the Knights promising an apology. She, too, like all the other nominations is a superstar!

Sarah Burgess, investigations reporter for the East Anglian Daily Times and the Ipswich Star relentlessly exposed the child abuse crimes of the De La Salles in a series of astonishing and truly shocking articles. In response, the De La Salles  promised a special investigation. They lied.

Host of the Imagination Podcast. She’s had myself, Dave Sharp, Rafael and many other Survivors on her show. In particular the wonderful Mary Knight who interviewed and  exposed Professor Loftus and other  promoters of the  False Memory conspiracy.A Survivor said to me: ‘Can I pick all three (Sonia, Emma and Rafael), as they are all brilliant?’ Yes! All three are here!

BEVERLEY CLARKE

Only rarely are RLSS Safeguarding Officers Gamechangers. Mostly they are well-meaning, pleasant, jobsworth, ineffectual social worker types. But Beverley is  a Gamechanger. Along with her female CEO, she has spoken out about the crimes of the De La Salles condemning them in no uncertain terms. Her speaking out has profound implications which are currently ongoing. Furious at being reprimanded by two women (!), the De La Salles have retaliated by cutting off contact with the RLSS, the agency they pay to keep us Survivors at bay. So now the RLSS are going cap-in-hand to the De La Salles with a Jesuit priest (Heaven forbid the De La Salles should speak to a woman!) to act as a peacemaker and soothe these angry gentlemen who clearly reek of clericalism.

DANI WARDMAN

Founder and ex CEO of the RLSS. The Religious Life Safeguarding Service.  She arranged for a group of us Catholic Survivors to interview two Catholic Canon Lawyers on the abuse crimes of the Catholic Church. An unheard of concept which will never be repeated because it empowers Survivors. Uniquely, Survivors confronted the organisation that harmed them. It’s never happened before or since! She also attempted a national inquiry into the child sexual abuse crimes of the De La  Salles. After she left, much of her work was provably undone. She was just too much of a threat to the Catholic Church , an organisation which seeks the illusion of change, not the reality.

JOANNA BRITTAN

She is nominated ‘ for shouting at the top of her voice to get justice  for her brothers from Sherborne Prep or herself from Fayed.’ Both Sherborne school and Al-Fayed have considerable abuse charges against them. Joanna has worked endlessly, successfully and alone  to draw the media’s attention to these crimes. She has been on endless podcasts and TV programs fiercely fighting for the Truth.

SURVIVOR B

They have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to expose just how the Catholic Church fell far short of the Elliott Report that was supposed to change everything. It didn’t. On the contrary. The Catholic Church – in the form of  Cardinal Nichols and other clerics – easily and cleverly ran rings around Mr Elliott.  Survivor B has exposed the shortcomings of Nazir Afzal when he was head of the CSSA and pretended to be a Gamechanger. He was not. Because of the very  danger of retaliation, (Catholics do not turn the other cheek.) I have kept Survivor B’s identity anonymous. But they have given me incredible, expert and so valuable insights on the Catholic Church today.  If the media wants to hear an expert spokesperson talk about the failings of the Catholic Church, they should talk to Survivor B!

RAFEL VIOLA AND ALL SURVIVORS

Wheelchair user Rafael was a Survivor’s spokesperson at IICSA. He wrote Stealing Lives about his abuse at the hands of Catholic nuns. He has visited the Vatican twice recently in his search for justice. He was planning a third trip, even though he has been made far from welcome by the Church.  The beautiful ‘Palace for Survivors’ promoted by Vatican Safeguarding  for Survivors to enjoy some down time during their visit to Rome was not available to him. He is the wrong kind of Survivor.

A Supporter wrote, ‘I nominate every Survivor that has spoken out. Every one of them! All deserve to be heard, every single one of them counts. Sexual child abuse destroys lives.

‘Let’s hear it for ALL Survivors!’

  FIVE WAYS THE RLSS HAVE BETRAYED SURVIVORS OF CATHOLIC ABUSE

There was a period last year 2025 where it looked like the RLSS was being pro-active and actually trying to bring about change as they had promised. This was down to the valiant efforts of one  RLSS Safeguarding Officer alone.

I could see they were really trying – unlike their predecessors – so I was content to wait patiently while progress was being made

That period has come to an end. The Officer is leaving. The RLSS are treading water, stalling, delaying and losing credibility again.

We are now back to the bad old days, with endless delays and no action. And the worthless social worker remedy of meaningless ‘tea and sympathy’ for Survivors.

So it’s necessary to present the key ways that the RLSS are STILL enabling criminal actions and betraying Survivors.

If you are a Survivor reading this for the first time and looking for a way forward – go to the police or to a lawyer.

Unless the RLSS provably changes in the next few months, I can’t see how they can help you.

In the coming year, my efforts will be spent on publicising their failures in the media and looking at what legal steps I can take against the De La Salles (DLS) and the Catholic Laity (in the form of the Knights of St Columba). Together with Catholic Safeguarding they have all gravely betrayed Survivors.

I intend to redouble my efforts now I have given up on the RLSS.

Currently children are at risk thanks to these entities.

1) The RLSS have sent in a (male) Jesuit as a peacemaker to the De La Salles This is after the DLS refused to have contact with two female lay Safeguarding Officers for daring to criticise them!

This is pandering to an organisation who have provably covered up numerous  serious crimes against children and therefore can be described as a criminal organisation.

Catholic Safeguarding  – the RLSS – should have nothing to do with criminals and yet they continue to humour them. Why? Because they are PAID by the DLS.

 This is the most venal and corrupt arrangement which should not stand.

I was told at one stage that the two DLS concerned were ‘genuine, good guys’. Clearly they are not  – as the RLSS would agree themselves – and they will be the subject of a future post proving that these two ‘good guys’  are criminal enablers.

In my view enabling or hiding serious crimes with knowledge and forethought makes the persons concerned criminals.

2)I was told by the CEO of the RLSS, Dani Wardman, that the RLSS would act on all forms of Catholic abuse against children including the Knights of St Columba. Even if they weren’t paid clients.

I suspect the RLSS would like to revoke Dani’s promise, but haven’t got the nerve to actually say this to me.

 Twice the Knights of St Columba have promised an apology for their crimes, once in recent months. Yet there has been a lack lustre response to progressing this apology. Indeed earlier an RLSS  Safeguarding Officer suggested I give up. Only when I took it to the media was there action.

There is no indication from the RLSS who the Knights should be answerable to in the Church.

Answer: Probably no one, they are like so many corrupt organisations in the Church – e.g. Opus Dei.

But it’s important because the Knights  – with no DBS checks – are still provably financing boys to become priests TODAY – a recipe for abuse just as it was in my day.

So children are in danger.

Obviously the RLSS really don’t give a damn about children

3) I have endlessly quoted serious cases of SYSTEMIC ORGANISED ABUSE by the DLS and the Knights.

The RLSS have read these but choose not to comment which, in my view, makes them culpable.

Today, we would call such organised clerical and Catholic lay abuse : Grooming Gangs and Sex Trafficking.

Today, the DLS have refused to discuss it. Or to say anything in writing.  And have ignored the case where they knowingly lied to the media. The RLSS have declined to tell Survivors why a RLSS National Enquiry into the DLS was curtailed.

The RLSS have yet to follow up on any of this.

4) Three times, a  wheelchair user DLS Survivor  Rafael Viola, travelled to the Vatican Child Safeguarding in Rome who said they couldn’t help, and referred him to four completely irrelevant Vatican organisations.

Why?  I suspect it was wilfully ‘taking the piss’  as a retaliation for Rafael annoying them so much with his persistence. Chuckling to themselves at his frustration. If that sounds far-fetched, look how a high-ranking priest  – with a big smirk on his face – forcibly blessed Rafael despite his protests not to.  We have the video.

But the RLSS have a responsibility to comment or advise in this situation and help a Survivor of the DLS.  Instead, they ignore Rafael.

Are the RLSS really so scared and in awe of the Vatican? I’m afraid so. They are cowards.

5) Wilful and calculated obstruction by the RLSS which is ongoing.

Some ways are ‘small’. For example, after several years the RLSS  still has no social media, no X, facebook etc.

They make excuses – ‘it’s in hand’. But it’s not. The RLSS are genuinely SCARED of facing Survivors.

Even Starmer’s government faces its critics on social media. Not the RLSS.

Once again they are cowards.

Other ways are even more serious.

For example, the recent rigged audit of the  DLS to give them top marks. (By the CSSA which is not explained)  I could unpack that easily and show how it’s corrupt.

They’re using a technique which I suspect the RLSS are using on themselves, too. Briefly, you limit your terms of reference, excluding anything that puts your organisation or one you’re defending in a negative light. So meaningless ‘performance indicators’, especially KPIs – key performance indicators – would feature. But you exclude anything that challenges the KPIs – like the views of Survivors like myself. Or past history.

Outstanding important issues regarding Canon Law were also ignored by the RLSS despite my interviewing two Canon Lawyers. One of whom, a priest, is on the RLSS board and showed zero sympathy for Survivors, claiming the terrible things that happened to kids:  ‘That was not my experience’.

Those questions  are still on the table.

Of the greatest concern to me personally is that organised systemic abuse of children, especially involving the Catholic Laity, with no DBS checks, could still be in operation. There are some indications that this is still the case. And that these ‘holy men’, these Knights, continue to prey on the vulnerable as they did in my childhood.

Why would anyone imagine that they would change just because there are stricter protocols today?

The Catholic Church and its various organisations –  including the RLSS – have always found a way to get around laws.

The current head of the CSSA admitted to me in an email that ‘What was the point of IICSA?’

Survivors are having to deal with members of Catholic Safeguarding who do not give a damn about the safety of children, past and present.

Just protecting their jobs and the Catholic  Church.

Shame on them all!

THE DE LA SALLE SCANDAL – LATEST NEWS

i just sent an X post about the latest astonishing developments – see below. I’ll write it up fully once the situation has reached some kind of conclusion. But even De La Salle apologists will have trouble explaining this away. It would be good to hear that the Jesuit peacemaker made contact with the DLS, that they listened and cooperated. And, if they didn’t, suitable sanctions were applied.

But I fear the most likely outcome will be that the Safeguarding officer (who is leaving) will be replaced by someone more compliant. And if the CEO sticks to her guns, that at some point she, too, will move on and a new CEO will be appointed who will have a more deferential approach to the DLS. Preferably a man. Like the head of the CSSA who audited the DLS and gave them full marks, despite this massive scandal of De La Salle child abuse brewing which he knew all about.

Then the DLS will somehow find backing and support for their objective: namely that all their past crimes of sexually and physically abusing children – over a hundred cases– are to be overlooked and ‘it’s time to move on’.

It will be interesting to see which way it goes.

In another development, Survivor Rafael Viola actually went to the Vatican and raised the De La Salle’s crimes with the appropriate agency ,the Commission for the Protection of Minors.

I think they took him seriously as they knew he’d fly to Rome to pursue them – for the third time!

In response, the Vatican Commission  for the Protection of Minors are claiming they can’t do anything , but have passed the files onto the Dicastery for Bishops, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

Four Vatican departments who, I would have thought, had no relevance or authority where child abuse  was concerned.

So Kafkaesque!

The De La Salle scandal is accelerating! Latest: DLS have refused to acknowledge their past abuse crimes,refused to explain in writing, and finally refused to have any contact with the RLSS – the Catholic Safeguarding org because they’d criticised the DLS. (Their paymasters)

So the RLSS had a board meeting to discuss. Solution: Send in a Jesuit as a go-between and peacemaker. The RLSS CEO and the Safeguarding officer were both women who the DLS refused to communicate with. So the RLSS sent in a MAN & a Religious instead. It’s called Clericalism
