Reading this first post is going to be a quest down a long and lonesome road. But when you reach the end, you’ll understand all there is to know about Pick Our Destiny, Two Kings, and Date with Destiny! We promise the rest of the posts will be a lot tastier!
We fucking LOVE the D! We ARE the D! We NEED the D! And we NEED YOU to pay our way to the D!
Okay, not the entire way, but part of it. See, we’re devoted followers of Tenacious D but we are not wealthy. Our goal with this page is to, with your help, fulfill our Date With Destiny – traveling to see the D live and hopefully meet Jack Black and Kyle Gass!
But why would you give us money?
A: Because we’re hot!
B: Because you feel sorry for us:(
C: Because we have little shame and will complete dangerous, embarassing, tedious challenges for said money.
As most of you already know, Tenacious D plan to release their new album in May 2012. New album = new tour! As it stands, we would like to try and raise enough money to see the D at Sasquatch Music Festival which takes place in Quincy, Washington. We live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. That’s 3,939 km. 1 day, 16 hours of driving (not including eating, sleeping, urinating, taking stupid pictures). 30 days, 6 hours of walking (according to Google Maps). Or a quick, but expensive, 5 hour flight to either Vancouver, BC or Seattle, WA, plus a 3 hour drive. Plus we have to pay for festival tickets, food, accommodation, etc. Any way we do it, it’s going to cost us more than we can afford so we need your help! We’re guestimating we’ll need about $5000.00 total for the both of us. So that is our goal – raise $5000.00 by May long weekend and fulfill our Date With Destiny.
How will we raise the $5000?
-We have a Jar Of Destiny that we decorated that we ourselves are putting money into on a weekly basis (or daily if we have change in our wallets).
– We accept any donation amount from anyone around the world via the paypal DONATE button right here on our blog!
– We will hold Double Team challenge polls on our blog. You vote on which Double Team challenge we must complete. Once the voting is over, the donations will be accepted on the blog. Once donations have reached the goal, we will complete the Double Team challenge and will be fully documented via video that we will post to our Youtube.
– We will also be posting “roach clips” – videos of us completing little extra gigs – most likely through weird ads we find on craigslist – for the amount of money specified by the gig poster (feel free to send craigslist links to us – but the gig has to be in the Toronto area).
– We also accept “rock-offs”. You suggest a challenge to us and the amount you’ll pay us to complete said challenge. If we accept, we will wait for your donation to clear and we will complete the rock-off (and post the video for you and the rest of the world to see).
– Whatever is remaining by the middle of May we will likely beg, borrow, and steal.
What happens next?
– When we raise the money and embark on our journey for our Date With Destiny we plan to film every step of the way. Date With Destiny will be well documented and will be posted for all of you to see! Our loyal sugar daddies and mommas (you guys, the donatees) will be credited. Any unused funds (assuming we make more than we actually need) will be donated to charity. Because we’re also givers, not just takers.
Who are Two Kings?
– That would be A.P and E.E. Or Andrea and Erin. Facebook knows us as Andrea Tenac and Erin Sassafrass. We just needed a stage name to represent the both of us.
