My e-space, Scientia ad Sidera, latin for ‘knowledge to the stars’ has an historic relevance for me* while representing education for all, knowledge for everyone, everywhere. We are all citizens of planet Earth and we must aim for the stars, aim for non-discriminatory education. Education that is not dependent on one’s country of origin, religion, skin colour, sex, financial situation or where one lives.
I’m interested in how we, as teachers, can go about bringing this to fruition. My ideas on assisting with the education of girls in immigration detention on the island nation of Nauru is outlined under ‘Future Learning Space’ on this website.
Any other ideas would be welcomed. Please join me in the quest for knowledge to the stars.
* Scientia ad Sidera was the motto of the high school I attended.
