Merchant House

We went on a free tour of merchantshouse.org given by villagepreservation.org. We are members of the latter. Please sign the petition at actionnetwork.org/letters/save-the-merchants-house-museum-2?source=merchants-house-website. “In December, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved a development next to the Merchant’s House Museum at 27 East 4th Street. It will destroy one of New York’s first landmarks. A home that was built in 1832 and that has remained intact, inside and out.”

Socrates Park Birds

I was surprised to find a wren and some winter ducks in the little Socrates Sculpture Park.

Socrates Sculpture Park

While waiting for our car to be detailed, we walked to the Socrates Sculpture Park in Astoria, Queens. It is located on the banks of the East River across from the tip of Roosevelt Island.

Jewish Museum Doors

We went to The Jewish Museum in June to see an exhibit about Ben Shahn – Wikipedia. The doors are worth taking pictures of.

Greenwich Vilage in the Snow

I managed to catch this white-throated sparrow in flight.

After visiting Hudson River Park we walked to Abingdon Square. There are tiny lights in the tree there. I added falling snow to that background.

Happy New Year everyone.

Hudson R Park in the Snow

New York City’s first big snowfall of the winter. We took a short walk down to the river to see the snow. I added a snow overlay on the last photograph.

Central Park Reservoir Birds

After visiting the Ramble we stopped by the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir – Wikipedia in Central Park. I wanted to see what winter ducks were there. We didn’t stay long. Here’s a link to a Birding Guide | Central Park Conservancy
