Welcome to Precious Flaws, a collection of the stories and poems of Galway and Mayo-based writer Fergus Deffely.
The earlier pieces you will find on this site were written following my participation in a series of creative writing classes chaired by Kevin Higgins and Susan Millar DuMars.
More recently, I have finished work on my debut novel The Fix, which takes place in a small town in the West of Ireland. The Fix is the story of one man’s unwitting descent into a world of petty-crime, power abused and vanishing trust. My second book is also nearing completion; The Disturbance, A Strange Tale of Cats and Alternate Worlds – is a modern day fantasy for children of all ages. I am currently in the process of trying to find an agent who will represent The Disturbance to publishers.
