Welcome to the website for PSFS, the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society!
We are a membership-based organization of science fiction and fantasy fans based in Philadelphia, PA. PSFS had its first meeting in 1936, making us one of the oldest science fiction groups in the world. We are open to anyone interested in science fiction, fantasy, or horror, in all media from the written word to movies, TV, comics, games and gaming, and visual art.

Mary Robinette Kowal is the USA TODAY bestselling author of the Hugo, Nebula, and Locus award winning alternate history novel The Calculating Stars, the first book in the Lady Astronaut series. Her latest book features her story Apprehension with Sam Miller’s Red Star Hustle. She is also the author of The Glamourist Histories series, and has received the Astounding Award for Best New Writer, four Hugo awards, the Nebula and Locus awards. Her stories appear in Asimov’s, Uncanny, and several Year’s Best anthologies.
Mary Robinette has also worked as a professional puppeteer, is a member of the award-winning podcast Writing Excuses, and performs as a voice actor (SAG/AFTRA), recording fiction for authors including Seanan McGuire, Cory Doctorow, and Neal Stephenson.
