Pumpkin's Patch

I’m currently at Starbucks working on putting hair together for a doll I’m making. I have been working on her since February.

I got all don with her body and started on her hair in March. About the time I started on her the weather got nasty and messed with back and both of my hands. Arthritis, Neuropathy, Sciatica, and probably tendinitis all mixed together. It hurt and I hated to, but I had to stop crocheting and making cards. I put it down for about a month. Now, in the end of may I am trying to get the hair finished on this doll.

It’s going to great( I hope) when it’s all finished. I don’t like black yarn. It seems to attract lint and cat hair. Trying to keep it from getting stuff all over it but I’m constantly picking stuff off and it’s really annoying. I’ve never made doll hair like this. Not sure I will do it again.

This is what the hair looks like on the doll right now. I put the crown on to see how it looked and to get an idea of where I’m going to put it. What do you think?

In 2007 my grandmother passed. Our birthdays ware a day apart. Hers was October 26 and mine is the 27. This was my first birthday without my grandma. My mom and brother decided to throw me a Halloween party . I made my costume. My mom and brother each made a cake. They said they were both for me but I know that one of them was for my grandma. I secretly wished that my grandma could be there with me to celebrate like we always did. So when I blew out the candles my brother snapped this picture. My husband was going through the pictures before we left my mom’s house and he tells me “ your grandma is in this picture”. I just told him yeah right. When we went home, I looked at the pictures and saw the face. My grandma was there celebrating with me.

It’s funny… I can always think of a million things to write about when I’m not at home. But when I am at home, I can never remember what I was thinking about writing. I guess I should start jotting things down.
