Walk Like a Man
Last weekend, I participated in my first sanctioned race. It was a one-mile fun run. My son-in-law, a Southern gentleman in the truest sense, stayed with me to offer support. I was beaten by a lady who was at least six months pregnant – and who was also pushing a stroller. Her winning interval would have been even greater, however she, and I will always be thankful, stopped to look at some leaves on a tree. I have always greatly admired people who have an interest in botany. Walk like a man.

Moon Pie, Meet King’s Cake
Moonpies are a large part of the Mardi Gras celebration in Mobile. So are
King’s Cakes. So the suggestion is why not a make a King’s Cake moonpie?
Seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyway.

“They that wait upon THE LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
and they shall walk and not faint”
(Isaiah 40:31)
Not being exactly sure of what the Biblical/literary convention is for the scripture quoted above, here is my interpretation. The quote marks at the beginning denote just that. The quote marks at the end of the verse are not followed by a period which is to say the Scriptures begin at Alpha and end at Omega which is infinity. There is a book of devotionals titled “Bread for the Journey” which I greatly admire. And one of the things I greatly admire is that the author does not feel the need to always use the entire page for each entry. Therefore, I will stop here.
