Yes, I have not been posting lately, Yes, I know the blog lacks content. I will fix that.
The last several weeks have been a whirlwind of preparations for the fall semester and job hunting. Add into the mix a few social outings and most of my time is well and truly spent.
I have been able to move foward with a couple new projects:
1. Dungeon boards. Having been introduced to Hirst Arts molds and the wonderful terrain blocks they make, I have begun casting up pieces to begin making dungeon tiles for my DnD 3.5 Campaign. I am focusing first on the Tomb of the Fire Lord, a dungeon/ mini adventure I created suitable for leveling a party from level 1 to level 6.
The dungeon has a lot of the classic tomb robber deterrent traps like pendulum axes and pitfalls, but the uniqueness of the dungeon lies in it’s background. I have used Egyptian and Mesopotamian mythology to influence the creatures and appearance of the dungeon environs, and the dungeon tiles will represent such, even up to the final encounter room!
2. Imagi-nations campaign setting/factions. Imagi-nations, as the name implies, are fictional sovereign nations used to bring a fantastical element to war gaming set in the 18th and 19th centuries. I have taken the base concept one step further, and have been writing a campaign setting for several of these factions to battle over. The setting also has small elements of science fiction, like translocation, and mystery (who brought the factions here) to spice things up.
I have purchased the black powder rules system to play out games in this setting, and it is set to arrive any day now.
Until it comes, this is all I have at the moment, so until next time!
