Now you ALSO know the secret.

You won’t find it in the papers. You would have to ask the people mentioned in this article. “Top cool” people were AT the party. But “middle cool” people KNEW ABOUT the party. 

Other people knew about this party. Not just me.

This event occurred in Danville, Illinois.  This is ONE of the secrets of Danville High School, though there are several.

In roughly May of 1987, there was a party in Danville, Illinois. It was at the end of the school year, perhaps after prom. It was an informal party at a house. Many high school students came. Over 50. There were drugs at the party. I believe all the people were whites.

During the party, a freshman named Matt Runyan and a senior named Mike Huff had sex with a freshman girl, Saba Alnaquib, in front of everyone. Apparently it was some type of “gang bang” scenario. Sophomores C. M. and Jeff Crabbe reportedly also took part in this.

It is unknown if junior Chad Martin took part in this. I think Chad Martin was/is some kind of big shot at Goldman Sachs or something.

I believe Senior Pat Smith was present. He may have taken part. Matt Runyan was undoubtedly the youngest boy taking part in this. Matt Runyan is apparently some kind of tennis coach in Bloomington, Illinois now.

Saba may have been the youngest girl at the party. I think she lives in Ohio now. She was high school class of ’90.

But there’s more.

Word has it that while they were having sex, other boys masturbated on the girl. Then they rubbed the sperm onto her skin. After that, a few of them wrote all over the girl’s body with pens, creating fake tattoos, etc.

Supposedly another guy filmed the entire thing on video.

Supposedly they also had anal sex with her.

During the party, random guys would walk up and slap Saba on the butt. People may have thrown things at them. A festival of assault and sexual assault.

These guys may have hit her in order to make her acquiesce. This girl was the youngster at the party.

I think some people “egged it on.” Sarah Adair may have “egged it on.”

The women at the party apparently did not help the freshman girl.

It was all very rock-and-roll. Unfortunately, it was also probably a rape. Did she really consent to all that ? Also, the girl was 14 or 15, so by age alone it would be considered statutory rape. No one was ever prosecuted. Saba and her family did not have them prosecuted. She never seemed to talk about the incident.

These people are still out there today, with kids and families, working regular jobs.

The author is unaware if the incident resulted in a pregnancy or abortion. There’s no reason to jump into that culture war.

Also, the author is unaware if the girl was a virgin. At that age, there is a good chance she was a virgin, but I have no idea.

I assume she did not “come”.  The guys who did this would probably tell you that she “came.”

This story was confirmed by 3 or 4 different people.

I consider myself somewhat liberal. “Getting laid” is part of life, and it’s a goal for most young people. However, this incident was outrageous. Some at the party might claim that they were “getting laid,” but this incident sounded more like some kind of chaotic gang rape. Some people pawned it off as an “orgy.”

No one said much about it. It was generally kept secret. There was an implicit threat if you talked.

How did this happen? I think the girl didn’t bring any friends her age to the party. I think not many freshmen were at the party. Most of these guys were older than her. It was dangerous. The girl was younger and perhaps more gullible than the other girls at the party. The guys wanted her.

The author will cut these people some slack : I’ll assume that this party did NOT have the atmosphere of a satanic cult. Many different people were at that party, including an Australian exchange student and a Norwegian exchange student. Do things like this impact America’s image ?

Obviously, it goes without saying that the house where this took place was trashed. I do not know the address. Supposedly someone took a shit in the hall. A madhouse. I feel sorry for the person who had to clean the place up.

From what I understand, the atmosphere was that of a frat party, Girls Gone Wild, or Spring Break.

The event was always considered “borderline.” Some people wondered if it was a kind of date rape similar to the movie The Accused.

There is speculation that the whole thing was “pre-planned.”

There’s more…On top of this issue, there was supposedly a “contest” to have sex with this girl. Other guys tried to have sex with her at other parties. The girl was considered to be sexy.

Certain girls wanted a guy to have sex with Saba before having sex with them. Guys had to climb a ladder.

On top of that, the freshman girl, Saba, was supposedly the daughter of a medical doctor in town.

In addition, the boys who committed the “gang bang” supposedly had girlfriends, i.e. they were cheating.

I don’t remember these guys having girlfriends, though. If they had girlfriends, they didn’t walk around with them holding hands.  I think Matt Runyan hung out with some girl in a different grade.

It’s possible a couple of these guys were virgins. Trying to prove that they weren’t virgins…

Personally I don’t care if they were or weren’t virgins.

Also, I would guess that most of the boys at this party came from Republican families.  This was not some kind of Democrat vs Republican issue.  Also, Reagan was President at the time.

The entire party was a mix of sex and rape. Supposedly someone had sex with a girl who was passed out.

Some people might ask the very basic question “Why did they do this ?” I would say they did it to show off or to prove their manhood. It was also competitive.

I don’t know the solution to this issue. It would be up to a court of law and up to the freshman girl. Obviously, I would not want my child to be involved in this. Would you? Would you want your daughter to be in the freshman girl’s shoes? The people involved in this seem to believe that ethics is not an issue.

I don’t know if the freshman girl “wanted it.”

Again, this incident should probably go to a court of law. Even if she “wanted it,” her age makes it questionable. I think that by law an 18 year old cannot have sex with a 14 or 15 year old. Assault. Sexual assault. Lawyers can correct me.

Are there ways to look at it without bringing religion into it ? Well, an ethics professor would probably like to know if the freshman girl actually consented to all that or if she felt violated. What about the law ? A lawyer would want to know if it violated Illinois state law, including the age of consent laws. I have no idea if it violated federal law.

However, it is believed that the whole thing was witnessed by sophomore Sarah Adair, who is married to Dr. Khalid Abbed, also of Danville. They are now roughly 53 years old and live in Connecticut and can be reached at 203-557-0290 and 203-785-2807. They are at 46 Turkey Hill Road S, Westport CT. Dr. Abbed works for Hartford Healthcare.

Fun fact: Middletown is near Dayton, Ohio, where I was born.

These people have grown up to become reckless and dangerous, and some have positions of power.

They might be willing to field any questions about the 1987 Huff-Runyan-Murray gang bang incident. I would say a couple hundred people knew about this incident prior to this article.

The author: Good or bad, I am a person who went to high school with these people. I did not know these people well. Separate sets of friends. I was in the same grade as the freshman girl. Again, I do not pretend I’m friends with these people.

I heard about this secret over 30 years ago. Now you, too, know the secret of Danville High School.

Post Script Thoughts:

Swedish people seem to be good at sexual rules and laws. Maybe Swedish people can diagnose this. Perhaps it’s perfectly fine to fuck a 14 or 15 year old girl in front of everyone at a party. No condom. Vaginal and anal. Probably no lube. And masturbate on her. And write on her body with pens. Perhaps it’s fine. Maybe it’s not rapey or rape-ish.

What would Swedish people do in this situation ? Frankly, even in liberal Sweden these people would probably go to jail.

Events like this seem rare. Perhaps it’s like the Led Zeppelin Shark Incident. Or perhaps it’s like an Italian government sex scandal. Or perhaps it’s like the Bill Cosby incidents. Perhaps it was like the accusations surrounding Julian Assange.

Perhaps it’s like the Tailhook military sex scandal. This would not be like a gang bang on the front lines. More like a gang bang at the Officer’s Club where people were partying.

Were these people funny? They were sort of like bullies with other people. Perhaps they were funny with each other. They were dangerous. I don’t think any made it to New York or LA. They needed other people.

They think even married people can be virgins. Even someone with a kid can be a virgin. It’s a derangement syndrome.

Another interesting point : Much like jail, there’s a hierarchy amongst these people. The gang bangers are on the top. The girls/people WATCHING are next. Unfortunately, I think the freshman girl who was gang banged is near the bottom. However, people who were not at the party at all are probably lower than her. 

I did not go to the party. I simply heard about the party.

Are there steps to take ? I don’t know. I told a couple of lawyers. I’m something of a big government type of person. A Bernie Sanders type of person. Perhaps government can be of help.

The lawyers don’t seem to take much action anyway. Cops don’t, either. I think if you did some digging, you would find this article to be fairly accurate.

By the way these guys also may have done something similar with blonde Jennifer Creek, also class of 1990, who were freshmen in ’86/’87. 

Also, they may have done something similar with Sarah Bookwalter, also class of 1990.  I’m not sure.  I wasn’t really in the loop. People hear things. There was a rumor mill.

But I believe that the gang bang above with Saba Alnaquib was the “big one.”
