Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Funny Cartoon HD Best Wallpapers

After AAP’s tremendous victory in Delhi, AAP and Arvind Kejriwal are all over the news. I personally am really happy to see AAP win.

More than anything, I have great respect for this man – Arvind Kejriwal. Even in the past, he has been been fighting for people through his NGO and played a greater role in getting the RTI.  He was a common man fighting for common man’s rights. There are many of us who think all the politicians are corrupt and one among us should become the government.  He made it true.

Inspite of his mistake in the past, he did not give up. There are many examples in history when people started a new party and as it failed, they combine with any major party (Congress or BJP) and enjoy being one of the MP/MLA. This man did not give up and inspite of everyone writing down his party, he re-emerged victorious.

A party formed out of volunteers and no experienced politician is a novel and fresh idea for our country. It was refreshing to see many young people – common man, taking to streets to support the party. Even during election rallies, people saw common man and not the “politician”. AAP has been open to recruit common people into their party. They have been transparent and we can see it to some extent on their website. Overall the party seems to be genuine and relatively clean compared to the existing political parties. The fact that many people trusted the party to donate funds for it also says a lot!

Before the elections when I was discussing with my friends, all of us felt that AAP deserves a “second chance”. Kejriwal’s dramatic resignation last time during his tenure as Delhi CM was a very grave mistake. For a common man, it meant their trust being broken, when they have stepped forward and supported a completely new party.

But Kejriwal coming forward and apologizing to the voters of Delhi must have earned him some empathy. If not trust, people have given him a second chance. Though BJP has been riding on Modi wave, the voters are smarter to not be biased by it. After all, Modi can’t be both PM and CM. Congress wiping out from politics is another plus point for AAP, all the voters of congress have moved to AAP.

Also, having the same party at centre and at Delhi may cause BJP to sit back and do nothing as there is no one to question or challenge them. Now, having AAP at state, will kind of bring BJP out of their comfort zone and force them to be alert and put some efforts.

So the pressure is on Kejriwal now to utilize the second chance and prove his party’s worth. He needs to learn from his past mistakes. He needs to accept that he is the CM and respect the post. He cannot expect that things will magically work, just because he is the CM. He needs to be patient and trust the system and get things done tactfully. With an able Prime minister like Modi and the AAP at Delhi, it will really be a good competition among the two parties to prove themselves. I hope India will get good, corruption free and development driven government through this.

PS: the views expressed are personal and not to hurt any sentiments.

Class 1

???????????????????????????????

One fine day, we all members of Project LOTUS have decided to start spoken English classes for the 5th std kids of government schools. These kids are not very familiar with the language and are infact scared of it.We have to admit that English is a very important medium of communication in India. Every job needs them to know English.

The living conditions and the environment around these kids doesn’t allow them to come across this language as often. Hence it is an alien subject for them. Also, they do not have educated parents who can help them out. Our intention was to make them familiar to the language, so that the scare inside them is gone. This will help them in studying and understanding their academic subjects well and as they grow they will be ready for the society which expects everyone to know English.

However, we were not sure what to teach them, how to start and where to start. There was no such definite material online which was intended for such kids who are completely new to this language. We had to teach them slowly, making sure it sinks into them. In this process we started developing our own content.

I have decided to put it here in my blog so that it may help anyone else with the same interest. Any feedback to improve this material, is welcome 🙂

Class 1

–          Show the video which focuses on pronouns. You need not tell them they are called pronouns. Repeat the video and make them repeat each and every sentence in the video.

–          Pick up the new words that are related to the topic. Explain them each of the word and its meaning. Make the sentences with the words and explain meaning., Encourage them to make new sentences with the words.

  • words:
    • I
    • You
    • He
    • She
    • They
    • We
    • It
  • I am a student
  • You are a good boy/gal
  • He is a boy
  • She is a girl
  • We are happy
  • They are jumping
  • It is a pencil

Encourage them to ask questions. Help them choose the right word. Depending on how soon they pick up, this class can be repeated in the next class too, so that they remember the words well.

dont just watch!!

I just saw this video shared by someone on facebook and couldn’t help writing about it. It is so shocking to see the figures that everyday almost 40 girls under the age of 15 are forced into prostitution. Everyday, there are so many news articles about men attacking innocent kids, even infants. It is extremely disgusting to think about all these perverted men who are part of this business. How can someone even think of such thing about such innocent kids.

There are people arguing that women have come on par with men and have equal rights. But still there are many areas in which women need protection, let alone progress. The thinking and attitude of people need to change. The message given by this video is really true – People around these kids need to speak out and act.  Wishing that we can see this change soon.

navvali neetho -lyrics

This was my all time favorite song during college days.. The song used to play in loop in back ground as I went along with my work in my hostel room.. Absolutely love the song.. The music and the lyrics are sooo beautiful..I can never get tired of it..

Today, as I am working from home, suddenly this song popped in my mind.  Love the feeling again listening to this song in the back ground as I go along with my debugging and coding 🙂

Art of sketching

IMG_1533I am always fascinated about pencil sketches. I was not sure how to train myself for the same. Luckily found an online video on pencil sketching and started off with it immediately.

Initially I took printouts of the picture to be sketched, traced the outline and concentrated solely on the shading part. That was pretty tough too. To identify which part of the face had to be dark or light, creating the texture of the skin, the effect of light on the face, the shadows, trying to put life in the eyes and most importantly the hair, which I still need to work on.

Tried to take a step forward, I ditched the printouts and tracing. I am trying to create the outline looking at the photo itself, which I must say is very very very difficult. I realize we need lot of observation skills and sense of dimensions. The shape of the face, the expression, the size of the eyes, the distance between the eyes, the length of the nose, the lips, the location of each of these features on the face – believe me, it is so so difficult. I can now appreciate the skills of all the artists who can sketch people watching them live.

My first two attempts have been not so great!! Though the sketch came out well, it doesn’t completely resemble the object of interest. I need more and more practice to be able to create the perfect portrait, resembling the actual photo.

Then comes my next goal of being able to sketch a person directly. There is still a long way to go, but I will try to keep up and reach it 🙂

This blog is dedicated to all the wonderful artists out there who have the amazing skills of capturing beauty in their canvases.

Joy Of Giving week 2013

jgw

Joy of giving week is back.. The biggest festival celebrated all over India from Oct 2nd to Oct 8th marking the “festival of giving”..

Many groups, NGOs use this occasion and do a lot of activities to help the needy… In my company, we have decided to do something for the house-keeping staff for this week.. We have collected wishes from all the house-keeping staff and encouraged employees to come forward and fulfill these wishes. The response was mind-blowing. All the wishes were fulfilled within the first two days. Thanks to all the efforts put by all the volunteers.

We are also planning to invite a Hospice, Karunashreya (working for cancer patients) to setup their wish tree in our office campus. Also, plans are there to conduct a book donation drive. Hoping that all events turn out to be successful.

This “Joy of giving” week try to do something to make a difference in someone’s life. Experience the Joy of giving 🙂

This is one of the events my friend is part of : http://indiaunderthestars.com/

First stage performance :)

images_wp1

We had our company’s family day on Friday. It was an awesome evening. It was the first time I performed after many many years. The last time I performed on-stage was only during school days.

Thanks to my sis who encouraged me to join for both dance and fashion show. It was absolutely fun-filled experience. All the early morning practices; the group chit-chats before and after the practice sessions; the new friends formed in the process; the crazy fun we had during practices; the never-ending discussions on watsapp ; the last minute tensions regarding the costumes; the actual performance on the D-day; sharing, liking and commenting on pics on fb … it was all memorable and fun 🙂

after last two weeks of hectic and fun-filled days, back to relaxing and normal routine 🙂 ..looking forward to more excitement in life 🙂
