I hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! A BIG thank you to all who have served, are serving, and plan to serve our wonderful country – the greatest country in the world! This includes Dad, PopPop, many great uncles, great-grandparents, and more. GOD Bless America!
To celebrate, Robert is attending a baseball game! If you recall, his first baseball game ever was at The University of South Alabama a few weeks ago. He and Dad took the grand tour of the field and gave the players high-fives.
Today, he’s attending a Mobile Bay Bears game with Dad, Mom, GG and PopPop. According to Robert, this is a great crew to attend a game with – for a couple of reasons: (1) If it’s too hot, they’re leaving; And, (2) They insist on loading up on souvenirs and tasty treats at the start of the game. Well, actually before the first pitch is ever thrown. That way, if it’s hot and they wish to leave, they’ve lots of memorabilia and full tummies. Peanuts, hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, hamburgers – they’re ready. Bring it on. Robert is ready to chew, too!
Speaking of chewing, Robert has certainly sprouted lots of teeth. Now, when he smiles, pearly whites just gleam back at you.
Plus, he’s taken to brushing his teeth himself. During Bath Time, Mom puts toothpaste on his little blue rubber toothbrush and he takes it and starts brushing. Very impressive. While doing so, Mom sings Mr. Raffi’s “Brush Your Teeth” song – just to keep his teeth brushing spirits high.
Along with brushing his teeth, Mr. Mister is walking, walking, walking, and then walking some more. He also enjoys standing. Moreover, he’s been working with his walking/rolling toys. He’s not quite mastered these toys he pushes himself. However, he mentioned that the toys roll best when he runs them around the house while in the walker – such as his approach to his grocery cart.
Notice he’s toting his Cracker Jacks around. Robert does love a good box of Cracker Jacks. Not to eat, of course. Rather, he likes to shake them to get a good beat. He’s also shown he has great rhythm. Mr. Man is dancing all of the time! First, he bounces his head. Then, he bounces his hips and head together. Sometimes there’s a shoulder bop thrown in for good measure. And, if the song is really good, he’ll do jazz hands. Thus far, few bands have earned such measures, though.
While cruising the house in his walker, Robert has taken to toting around a picture of Granddad, Aunt Lena, and Dad. Aunt Lena is the Queen of Peek-a-Boo. And, Granddad is Robert’s Guardian Angel.
We are so thankful for such a wonderful man, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He sure loved Robert.
Praise GOD from Whom all blessings flow.
GOD Bless America!
furrily yours,
Melvin Cat
I’m off to the attic. Even the attic is cooler than the temperatures outside. Besides, Mom and Dad have stashed a few Christmas presents for Robert, and I want to make sure to cover them in cat fur. Now is the time – it’s shedding season!
Bon Voyage! Or, as Robert sings: “Happy Trails to you / Until we meet again . . . “
Meow.
