About Me

After attending an arts magnet high school and graduating with an endorsement in writing, I obtained a Bachelor’s in English from George Fox University and began work as an in-house editor for an environmental engineering firm. After five years in-house, I decided to go freelance in 2015 so I could diversify the types of content I edited, as well as control my own schedule. Since then, I’ve edited fiction in a variety of genres, non-fiction, dissertations, and more.

My business soon expanded to include formatting all sorts of documents and teaching others how to make Word work for them, headache-free. Previously, my webinars and courses have been offered to editors through the Editorial Freelancers Association as well as in-house at George Fox University. Now my flagship formatting course is now available right here, with access for anyone who wants it.

I live in Portland, Oregon, with my husband, two kids, and a cat. In addition to my editing work, I coach gymnastics to preschoolers a few hours a week; write for Medium about productivity, writing advice, and ADHD; and run an Etsy shop for printables. In my free time, you’ll likely find me playing a cozy video game, watching my kids’ sporting events, or writing my own songs, musicals, and novels.
