My 23rd birthday was probably a little out the ordinary, at least compared to those of my friends at the time. As I closely neared the big two-three, I saw other friends jumping into their new legality with utter abandon. Tsk. A friend went bar hopping for 21 shots, and woke up the next morning with the names of all of them written on her arm. I don’t think she remembered her birthday very well, but she seemed to have had a good time.

As a side tangent, my own twenty third birthday consisted of me and very nice girl friend taking a long drive up to Bubba Gump resto, and getting a nice Lava Flow. My grand master plan was to go Lava Flow — shop — coffee, just to say I had, and because I thought it would make for an amusing story to tell later. Unfortunately, that single Lava Flow did me and I was wasted on the flow. I didn’t even make it until coffee time. It was more of a coffee shop Lava girly date, so to speak. A great birthday, nonetheless.

Looking around for fun facts about my birthday, I found:

2. Eat cake if I’m under 18 or over 75. If I’m in between, these are my years of discipline and clarity. Look at that pretty mass of sludge and goo for what it is.

3. Ask myself where I came from and where I’m going. If the answer is, “I don’t know,” spoken with marvel and wonder, I’m on the right track.

4. Thank my mother. Chances are the occasion I’m celebrating was a pretty arduous day for her.

5. Be a child. Hang balloons outside my door. Announce to random strangers that it’s your birthday. Okay, even eat the artery clogging, blood sugar elevating, thigh thickening cake if I have to. And if there aren’t any random strangers around, announce it on my blog or in Yahoo! Messenger: “Hey, it’s my birthday! Aren’t I cool?”

I can’t stand when people are not aware of how much space they take up in this world. I was in World Trade Center early this afternoon and bought and ate and ate and ate yummy Snow Cones to death and there was a thin sliver of seat left for somebody to sit. I am a pretty voluptously sexy slim girl, and I figured I didn’t fit there. Imagine my amazement when some 500 pound lard ass decided that there was plenty of room for his fat ass to sit. As I watch him try to squeeze his blubber into the seat, I watched the two people to his sides as they were being crushed. You should have seen the look of discomfort in their faces.

It really is annoying when its rush hour and space is limited enough, and then this guy thats as big as a subway car decides to push his way in. Hello?! This isn’t the friggin’ whale scale. Get the fuck out!

That’s why I think that the turnstyles should have scales or some way of measuring your fat. This way the fatter you are the more you pay. This way maybe fatasses can do some more walking to exercise some of that lard off, and probably will have a little less cash in their pockets so they can’t eat as much food.

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe they should have a way of testing your intelligence, before you can enter the place too.

*sighs in despair…*

Anyways, I am happy that first, I was able to get away from my morbid way of life and then second, I was also able to shamelessly indulge myself into the luxury of eating Snow Cones! I wanna taste Bahama Mama, Cantaloupe, Butterscotch, Fuzzy Navel, Strawberry Daiquiri and Pink Bubblegum sana but hindi available — okay lang because Strawberry, Blueberry, Rootbeer and Blue Bubblegum were able to feed my fantasies.

Yes! I’m bitching today! I feel like bitching! Okay, actually I feel like ripping someone apart, but that isn’t likely to happen so I shall bitch Santa as much as humanly possible.

*sigh*

Oh, you’d better get down on your knees and pray, all right. You’re supposed to be in bed! Santa doesn’t like little boys sneaking around while he’s working.

And he’s still got that stick.

But look at Santa’s eyes. He sees the child’s fear and wonders, “What have I become?“

Do you love this old man? If so, I’m sorry to tell you that, judging by this picture, he is DEAD. And EVIL.

And just when you thought Santa couldn’t get any scarier, here comes this disembodied monstrosity with a beard three times the size of his head and no teeth at all.

You’d better watch out! You’d better not cry! Now THIS is one scary Kris Kringle. Check out the shifty eyes, the dark eyebrows, and those teeth! After seeing this picture, I’ll never be able to enjoy hearing:

“He sees you when you’re sleeping.”

STRANDED SANTA: What’s happened here? Looks like Santa’s reindeer finally got sick of the constant lashings from St. Nick and dodging bullets every time they flew over Ted Nugent’s house and just ditched Santa in the middle of a snow storm. All he’s got to eat are some green sticks. He’s dropping toys…

and he’s worried.

I stayed for much of the day at home. Smelling the pieces of fabric, the linens, the carpet. all of them reeking of the same smell that permeated much of my place — a mix of spices, of food, things that were here.

It has been an enjoyable time living after I gave up on my job.

2PM

I decided to go out and smell the air, feel the cool early afternoon breeze.

I grabbed my jacket (the thicker one because it’s cold out there at this time), got my eyeglasses (I didn’t wanna miss a single detail of what’s it like in the streets), and my trusty camera.

So off I went on my adventure.

I passed by the pool…see, that’s one thing I really wanted to do. To take a dip in the pool. Problem is, this place is too near my horizon — the sun could really burn you without you noticing it because the wind is cold. I didn’t want sunburns, so the only time I could go swimming would be at night. But nights are too cold. So I’m left pondering when I actually could fulfill my dream of taking a swim.

So anyway, I got out the front gate of our house, and began my journey.

Facing the street, I had a choice… If I go right, I’ll go straight to bright lights…to civilization, where there are shops and people.

The left road, on the other hand, has a fewer street lamps, and lots of trees.

So I went left, thinking this is supposed to be my escape from the reality of my monotonic life.

I tried to read a book, and of course, I tried taking pictures, but it was a low-light condition — shutter speeds are slow and I’m supposed to hold my hand steady. I didn’t bring my tripod, so I just tried the best I could. I deleted the pictures later because I wasn’t satisfied. Besides, taking pictures was secondary only to taking a walk.

And so I went on.

There is a small lake surrounded by walkways, tables and benches where people come to picnic. A restaurant is also located nearby.

Got lost along the way…but I’d love to disappear another day into this unmanicured park where I can spend an unhurried day playing PSP games, reading a book, or just communing with nature.

6PM or so

I went back to my home.

And it made me realize a lot of things.

That I’m complicating too many things in my life. That if only I treated things as simply as they really are, then I wouldn’t have to think so much about so many things.

I realized that I needed that fresh air — a breather from the hassles and daily living.

I looked up and saw what I always thought to be awe-inspiring since my youth — a dark blue sky speckled with stars of different sizes and hues.

I wish life was as simple as it once was.

Okay, so I’ve been sitting here for two hours now half-attempting to make the perfect playlist.

Bedroom, chill, drive. and its driving me insane. I categorize everything in little lists for for momentary filing and I end up trashing it all because it doesn’t FLOW RIGHT.

*Sigh*

Meanwhile, I found this topic in the forum which asks for suggestions on what to give her man (who almost have everything *daw*) for his birthday, I think, her budget, 3-10k.

I told her to get him an Insurance Policy, (LOL) with premiums paid already, or at least the first premium installment.

I would have said more but I’d be rude if i insist pa my suggestions, so might as well put it here just to get it out of my rusticating mind, so to speak.

Hmm…

So yeah, what to give someone who almost have everything? Though I don’t believe someone has everything already, because there’s always something lacking in our lives no matter how much we acquired, worldy goods or otherwise.

Hmmkay, so anyway.

1. Insurance Policy. As I’ve said, it’s practical. Considering that they’re married (?), they’ll probably need a contingency if something not-so-good happens to either both of them, right? More specifically, a life insurance plan.

2. Burial Spot. Yeah, the one’s in the cemetery. Burial lot. Haha! Is that what they call it? Well, not unless one of them wants to get cremated. a burial spot will be a great gift. At least, the celebrant wouldn’t worry too much anymore, in leaving huge debts behind when he’s dead. I’m pretty sure, the price of the burial lots today will be different and much more expensive by the time you’re already cold and not breathing. A very practical albeit morbid gift.

3. iPhone. Ihave no words for it, but i would want one too. Hehe! But I would be willing to spend for that, since it’s going to be a conjugal property, so that means I could use it too. Wahahaha.

Ugh. So far this is the less morbid of my suggestions, eh?

4. Well, give the 10,000 in cold cash, then tell him he’s free to go out drinking with his friends all night long. Of course, she can’t tag along. or, simply put. He has free disposal of the 10,000.

5. Give him the latest KamaSutra. If ever there’s such a thing. (LOL)
