Day 993: Challenges in the Grand Canyon.
Day 942
Yesterday was hard. Nothing particularly bad happened except that my emotions decided to take a nose dive into dangerously sad territory. That’s weird right? Nothing bad happened and yet I felt like I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. This morning I woke up to my sobriety app telling me I… Continue reading Day 942
Day 939
One of the greatest gifts of sobriety, besides the mental clarity, rocking sense of humor, and loads of money saved, is a growing love of hiking. When I was drinking I hiked about 4 miles a week, and generally I was hung over while attempting those miles so you can imagine the amount of cursing… Continue reading Day 939
Day 900
It’s a big day. We celebrated in small ways. 1000 days is coming. We’ll celebrate in a bigger way when that comes. I remember a friend telling me that our cells remember. When we feel crazy or sad unexpectedly it’s because our body remembers. The last several days I have had trouble focusing. It’s been… Continue reading Day 900
Day 897
Two nights ago I went to a Women and Wealth seminar. Seminar is a strong word it was more like a two hour talk about real estate given by my brilliant neighbor who I want to be like when I grow up. The talk was good. The information was helpful. The drunk girl plowing through… Continue reading Day 897
Day 893
“Thank you for seeing me” I saw this as a caption on one of Glennon Doyle’s instagram photos. Her wife took it of her and her daughter having a moment and she said thank you for seeing me. Beautiful. As a photographer I am used to being behind the camera. There are very few photos… Continue reading Day 893
Day 889
I wanted to write a blog post yesterday for day 888, because I love weird number combinations, but I forgot to check the days. SO today. Day 889. It’s good. We’re good. Life is good. It’s a strange thing to be sober for this long. 2 years, 5 months, 6 days. To stick with something… Continue reading Day 889
Day 823
“The truth has legs; it always stands. When everything in the room has blown up or dissolved away, the only thing left standing will always be the truth. Since that’s where you’re gonna end up anyway, you might as well just start there.” – Rayya Elias Last night I went to LA to hear Cheryl… Continue reading Day 823
Day 813
Today I went for a walk and thought about all the miles I walked in 2018. It was a lot and so it is no surprise that my feet grew half a size. No lie! Half a size! Hundreds of miles will apparently do that to you.
Day 812 Thankful
Today we say thanks. I often see people writing out the things they are grateful for throughout the month of November. I’ll write it all here in one day. Sobriety is not something that needs much explanation. It’s good to have this in my life. Family who can’t get rid of me if they tried. … Continue reading Day 812 Thankful
