A Fading Art…

While browsing through my Facebook feed today, i came across this post where a lady in Australia fell in love with a delivery man after hearing his voice over the phone. She then met him, asked him out on a date and later married him and now they have a kid. Ah, so romantic! πŸ˜ƒ

I mean.. such things do happen in this world and then love does make you blind, deaf and mute. People fall in love with looks, personality, voice and sometimes absolutely no reason at all. Bizarre… right.

As we’re talking about falling in love with different attributes in other people, have you ever fallen in love with a person’s handwriting?! A good handwriting needs lots of patience and practice. It doesn’t happen overnight. I have fallen for it and that too of the opposite gender’s which is a very rare thing as to find men with good handwriting is like looking for a needle in a haystack, whereas plenty of women are blessed with the quality of readable and neat writing.

An uncle of mine possessed one of the best handwriting that i know of among my relatives and friends. Now, how do i describe it. I find no words other than saying that it was incredibly neat, legible and every alphabet was so well written that it spread on the paper like pearls. He wrote in Malayalam. He was away working in the ship and was my mother’s cousin’s husband. As ten months or a year kept him away from his family, friends and relatives, his hobby or rather a way to pass time was to write letters promptly to everyone who was close to him and what a joy it was to receive his letters. I would be the first one to open it up and just stare at it without reading a word and admire his handwriting skills for a good five to six minutes and then hand it over to my parents for them to read it and then keep on talking about it to my mother about how beautiful he wrote.

He’s no longer among us now though he will always be remembered in our hearts and mind but i so regret not treasuring one letter at least for the sake of memory or when a feeling of wanting to look at something peaceful and admirable arises from within, his letters would have definitely done that work but sadly none of us thought of keeping his letters. Nowadays majority of us have forgotten to write with the advent of smartphones in our lives and typing much easier to do and we have literally disowned the pen or pencil which was a part of our existence till some decades ago!

The other one who had stole my heart with his splendid handwriting was my elder daughter’s classmate who has left the school and is studying elsewhere now. What perfect writing at such a young age! I just hope he continues with that handwriting lifelong and in no point how soever should it change at any cost! His notes would always be updated and I’m sure all the teachers would have melted and given him extra marks just for his handwriting if ever there was such a thing. I remember asking his mother to share his notes when my daughter couldn’t attend school and i used to always tell her ( daughter) about my fondness for his beautiful handwriting. I had even mentioned to his mother about how neat and adorable his writing was whenever i got the chance to do so. Some people are blessed that way though its a rare quality to have that perfect handwriting. Some may have good writing but the letters may not be clear enough to read while others just use the pencil or pen to scribble something on the paper and call it writing!

So which category do you all belong to?? πŸ˜€

Watching reels is quite addictive.

And Nayanthara was the highlight for today.

She’s known as the lady superstar of the south.

She’s gorgeous and she’s acted with all the superstars be it from all the film industries down south.

And now performed with shahrukh in Jaawan and i happened to see the song just today and she just proves that heroines need not wear skimpy and skin revealing clothes to be noticed. This song is catchy, makes you want to hear it now and then and Anirudh Ravichander has done the music for this. And Arijit Singh and Shilpa Rao has made it more addictive.

Enjoy the song

And just posting some pictures of her πŸ˜€

😍😘😍

Isn’t she gorgeous??

Another wonderful movie to watch if you’re a fan of malayalam movies.

Watched ‘kannekkanne’ starring Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tovino Thomas, Aishwarya Lakshmi and others.

Tovino’s performance was okay to be honest. He could have emoted better for the important role he was playing. Aishwarya was nothing great either. Story was really good. How complex human emotions can be is what the director of this movie has tried to portray.

And Suraj takes all the credit for his performance in this cinema. He’s proven that he not only can do comedy but can pull off serious roles with equal ease. Actually it all depends on the director and his trust on the actor and his abilities. Suraj’s expressions of anger, jealousy, revenge is so well brought out that everyone can relate to it as emotions are what humans are made up of. I literally saw this entire movie for his performance and no one actually comes near him though Tovino is considered a mini superstar in Mollywood or perhaps this film was made in such a way that suraj was supposed to get all the attention and no doubt he did deserve it with full kudos.

A simple story but a whole lot of emotions involved and at the end of it how forgiveness and the act to forgive is what everyone wants as a closure to their deeds done intentionally or unintentionally.

Minnal Murali, a malayalam movie i saw some weeks back. A good watch. Its a 2021 release movie. The movie garnered lots of appreciation and Tovino Thomas played the lead role in it.

The plot of the movie revolves around what happens when two persons are struck by lightning on the same day. Though both survive the jolts, they start to possess some unnatural powers and how one uses it for good and the other for their mean activities.

The director, Basil Joseph, tried to give it a sci fi look but as malayalam movies are made on lower budgets compared to other movie industries, he managed to do well and kudos to him for that. You get a feel of wandering back to your childhood days and being fascinated by the superheroes that you grew up watching like ‘Superman’ and ‘Batman’ who fought the evils to save humanity. Kids would enjoy this movie as some scenes do recreate those scenes when Tovino fights with the villian, Guru Somasundar who too played his role efficiently.

So, if you’all haven’t watched it yet, make it your weekend watch.

Just curious to know, if you guys know anyone who has been struck by lightning and did they have any repercussions of that jhatka that definitely zor se laga hoga!

An aunty i know of had told us that her mother was struck by lightning not once but thrice and guess what, she survived all three of them and lived on with no issues till later on only to pass away due to old age.

So, what actually happens when a lightning strikes someone.. πŸ‘‡

And, do people survive lightning attack? πŸ‘‡

Interesting topic. Lots to read on this and ponder about yet another marvel of nature from the many, known and unknown to us.

Ranting about things is in every indian’s blood. If we don’t do that i think many of us can’t even go to sleep peacefully.

I’m on vacation to my native place, kerala. Its a beautiful state, picturesque, lush greenery all around and blah blah but the attitude of people here are terrible.

The simplest of things take time to do or rather the people aren’t actually interested to get it done. Mediocre shops close around 6-7 pm when actually businesses flourish mostly around the evening time. Repair work like changing a tubelight or fan can take around days inspite of calling them everyday reminding them of the work they need to do and if you tell them that you’ll look for someone else to get the job done, don’t worry they won’t bow down and own up to the delay caused but rather without any regret they’ll tell you to hire someone else and they won’t regret losing that work.

And even if they do visit your place to get the work done, they will come with no proper tools or instruments and walk away saying they’ll come later and then just vanish with no sign of them for at least a week! Its really frustrating and its only because of such attitude that laborers from other states especially Bihar and UP have flooded the state as they are hard working, will work for minimum wages and have mastered the native language in no time where as we people do not go for menial jobs or consider it as low grade and abstain from doing it at all costs.

Due to the rising inflow of such laborers, crime rates have increased as there’s no track record of their existence with the state government whereas its mandatory for these outsiders to register themselves so that the government can keep a eye on them if any untoward activities take place like drug peddling, robberies, rapes and murders and many a times they are involved in these crimes and because they aren’t registered they get away very easily and the police find it difficult to nab them once they leave the state.

In short, Kerala isn’t the place to settle down as part of retirement plans.

Come, visit, enjoy the scenic beauty and leave.

People who have settled here and owning palatial houses, just one question to you’all , “how do you get your things done??”

Old is Gold..

In this world of show off’s and people with branded mobiles, there comes a person with a Nokia 1100 model and boy oh boy was i surprised when he handed me that phone to make a call when i couldn’t from my mobile, what an embarrassment it was. Duh!

I was very happy to see and hold that phone when the whole world seems to have forgotten about its existence. It literally felt like holding a toy phone when nowadays one has phones that resemble bricks of various sizes.

So, yes such people do exist who have nothing or no interest to keep up with the latest trends and I’m a fan of such people.

Evil everywhere.

Sorry chandni. The world has been very cruel to you.

No words can explain what you went through and now the trauma that your parents have to face lifelong.

Horrific people on this earth. Deserving nothing except death!

You didn’t deserve this at all. May your soul rest in peace.

Rains in india, why of course its the monsoon season here now. Rain is beautiful, be it heavy or light showers.

The dry land is finally touched by the passionate kisses from the clouds in the form of rain drops. Umbrellas held everywhere, colorful and black, sometimes hitting one another while others getting drenched without having one!

Clothes giving out the stench of wetness and the house resembling a dhobhi ghat (washerman’s ground) with fabrics strewn everywhere and anywhere.

Amidst all this, rains do bring out the romantic side from within all of us. ❀️😊

Here’s to all pluviophiles

Vacation Time…

Thought of fasting but my mother’s food is too tempting. πŸ˜‹

Thought i will stop eating sweets, but someone would drop in and give payasam (kheer) of some temple so how can you deny god’s prasad. πŸ˜€

Thought i would walk but it rains most days. 😏

So, i tell myself.. what the heck… just chill, live the moments and not everyone is previleged to enjoy like this! 😜
