While browsing through my Facebook feed today, i came across this post where a lady in Australia fell in love with a delivery man after hearing his voice over the phone. She then met him, asked him out on a date and later married him and now they have a kid. Ah, so romantic! π
I mean.. such things do happen in this world and then love does make you blind, deaf and mute. People fall in love with looks, personality, voice and sometimes absolutely no reason at all. Bizarre… right.
As we’re talking about falling in love with different attributes in other people, have you ever fallen in love with a person’s handwriting?! A good handwriting needs lots of patience and practice. It doesn’t happen overnight. I have fallen for it and that too of the opposite gender’s which is a very rare thing as to find men with good handwriting is like looking for a needle in a haystack, whereas plenty of women are blessed with the quality of readable and neat writing.
An uncle of mine possessed one of the best handwriting that i know of among my relatives and friends. Now, how do i describe it. I find no words other than saying that it was incredibly neat, legible and every alphabet was so well written that it spread on the paper like pearls. He wrote in Malayalam. He was away working in the ship and was my mother’s cousin’s husband. As ten months or a year kept him away from his family, friends and relatives, his hobby or rather a way to pass time was to write letters promptly to everyone who was close to him and what a joy it was to receive his letters. I would be the first one to open it up and just stare at it without reading a word and admire his handwriting skills for a good five to six minutes and then hand it over to my parents for them to read it and then keep on talking about it to my mother about how beautiful he wrote.
He’s no longer among us now though he will always be remembered in our hearts and mind but i so regret not treasuring one letter at least for the sake of memory or when a feeling of wanting to look at something peaceful and admirable arises from within, his letters would have definitely done that work but sadly none of us thought of keeping his letters. Nowadays majority of us have forgotten to write with the advent of smartphones in our lives and typing much easier to do and we have literally disowned the pen or pencil which was a part of our existence till some decades ago!
The other one who had stole my heart with his splendid handwriting was my elder daughter’s classmate who has left the school and is studying elsewhere now. What perfect writing at such a young age! I just hope he continues with that handwriting lifelong and in no point how soever should it change at any cost! His notes would always be updated and I’m sure all the teachers would have melted and given him extra marks just for his handwriting if ever there was such a thing. I remember asking his mother to share his notes when my daughter couldn’t attend school and i used to always tell her ( daughter) about my fondness for his beautiful handwriting. I had even mentioned to his mother about how neat and adorable his writing was whenever i got the chance to do so. Some people are blessed that way though its a rare quality to have that perfect handwriting. Some may have good writing but the letters may not be clear enough to read while others just use the pencil or pen to scribble something on the paper and call it writing!
So which category do you all belong to?? π
