Hanwoori

More than a week since I collected my visa. Money can do wonders. You pay an additional RM392 and it is ready to be collected in 3 working days including the day I submit my application.

And on the same day, tried out Hanwoori restaurant in Ampang koreatown.

This is the shopfront

The ventilator(?) is right above the grill.
The side dishes are not as nice as some other restaurants.
 Yummmy. Samgyupsal.

The kimchi jiggae here is so yummy. Love it.

And every trip to koreatown includes a trip to Korean mart. Got this waffle ice cream. Still prefer the chocolate ice cream to this.

Nomss

Yay! Done with 3 of the things in the previous list. But the visa application is driving me nuts. Still haven't receive the CAS numbers after 2 weeks although it mentioned 3 working days when I verified the data. Everyone is waitinggg.

The other day we had a celebration or should I say dinner for my grandfather's 83rd birthday. Here's the pretty pink cake. The top is longan cake and the bottom one is durian cake (same as last year's). Both baked by my uncle's sister. Still love the longan cake after eating it for all these years.

Haven't been to Tanjung Sepat, Sepang in a while. Don't think will go there again anytime soon.
The beer garden in the Fungus plantation place. Nice place to chill.

The pau before steaming. Still small.
After steaming

Lunch made us wait long. Bought yummy homemade fishballs everytime.

On the way back from the JPN after renewing IC, lunch in an organic food restaurant in Kajang. Healthy food. But, I can only stand eating it once in a long long time. Not too used to the taste.

Vegetable + beetroot juice (Totally my mum's kind of drink). Urgghh beetroot.
Guava leaves tea and Mulberry leaves tea. Tasted too weird that I don't even remember which I drank. Only remember it's the least yucky tasting one.

Seaweed roll salad. Yummy. They made the sauce themselves. Yay no mayo.
 Rojak salad
Gentry rice (I think that's the name)
  Mamak fried mi (healthy version)

to-do-list

One whole list of things to do and buy. Stressful from thinking about them.
The time has come to get a laptop. My desktop of 10 years finally get to retire. But, the choosing part is giving me a hard time. I can't just close my eyes and pick one since it is pricey and not just a few ringgits. *sigh*

And thinking whether to get a new camera. Another choosing task. *double sigh*

Another thing is to renew IC. I've managed to keep my IC with the 12 year old-face photo in good condition. Hate to go to the place for IC renewal and hate waiting.

It's also time for a new spectacle(or maybe 2).......

......................and the list goes on and on. Have to get to it one at a time.

Koya Japanese restaurant

Decided to try out this Japanese restaurant in Bandar Mahkota Cheras.
We didn't order anything fancy. Just the usual stuff.

I don't like Japanese curry but decided to order it. At least it tastes better than the Japanese curry elsewhere. And we had BBQ scallop.
It's nice to sit there and have some tea after the meal. haha

Baby bear

Last Saturday, my cousin sister's grandson turns 1 year old( yes, you didn't read wrongly it's grandson). The little boy's mummy baked a pretty cake with characters from Winnie the Pooh on it. And baked some other cookies for the guests to take home.

I took this cute bear with smudged nose cookie. There's another really cute one which is baby's clothes.

This little boy is really lucky. Can see that he receives LOTSSS of love from his family.

The other day I walked past the organic snacks section in the supermarket and saw a whole lot of organic korean snacks. They are quite pricey.

Anyway, bought a cheese-flavoured snack to try.

A visit to the palace

It's common to visit palaces if you have ever been to countries like China or Korea. But, never once visited own country's palace. Because before this we can never pass beyond the gate. The most you can do is snap some photos in front of the gate.

The gate minus the usual guards and horses

For the past month or so(up til yesterday) the palace is open for visits since now the King is no longer staying there. He shifted to a new 'house'. hehe

I found the time to go 2 days ago to at least take a look. Only part of it is open for exhibition I guess. Nothing fancy. Can't really tell that it's a palace actually. A bit disappointed. Maybe I expected too much?

The lamp post looks quite nice. haha

  The King's outfit

 The Queen's outfit

 Royal waist-buckle

 The Queen's necklace and tiara
Bunga emas

Suddenly, my parents decided to go to the temple in Broga (near uni). The last time I was there is when I was little.

When I saw this old man fishing, I knew I had a picture here. But turns out he changed his clothes and became younger (grey hair instead of white hair).
This is what I meant when I said 'little'.

Kang San Ea

Dinner in Ampang koreatown with my family. yay! It's their first time there while I've been there countless times. Tried a different restaurant from usual - Kang San Ea.We were there early so, there was no other customer except for us.

It's my 1st time seeing such a wrapping for a spoon. Just like a lollipop. hehe

The 100 plus my dad ordered comes with a really huge glass.
Honey ginseng tea which my mum ordered. Can't really taste the ginseng though. RM6.

Green tea for me and my brother. Korean green tea has that rice taste. I like it. RM5.

That's 1 serving of samgyupsal (pork belly). We ordered two servings. RM25 per serving. And we ordered kimchi jiggae (not sure whether it comes with a bowl of rice). RM17.
Dolsot bibimpap. Quite big portion. RM17.
This patbingsu (red bean shaved ice) is FREE! They are so generous for giving such a big bowl. And not 1 but 2 bowls! Shaved ice like this could possibly cost up to RM8 (but of course it's not worth that much)

The korean guy who took our order (I think he's the owner) can speak Mandarin.
The food here are not too pricey. Or is it my family members are small eater?

Went to Korean mart again after dinner. It's on the same row of shops. Can never miss going there during my visits to koreatown.
