We Silver Elves are happy to announce the publication on January 8, 2026, of our newest tribal narrative book:
Dragons, Pixies, Dryads, Elves, Faeries and Otherkin Tribes: Myriads of Elfae is our sixth book in the series of elf, faerie, fae and otherkin tribes. Dragons, Pixies, Dryads, Elves, Faeries and Otherkin Tribes includes tribe narratives of Dragons, Pixies, Dryads, Elves, Faeries and a variety of many otherkin tribes including Merfolk, Naiads, Sprites, Sirens, Fauns, Pookas, Halflinks (Brownies), Gnomes, Sylphs, Boggarts, Trolls, Orges, Valkyries, Spirit Beings, Huldu Folk, Shining Ones, the Sidhe, Qilins, Liches and mixed Elfae tribes.
All of these are newly written narratives and are not found in the first five volumes in this series. Our first book in this series is composed strictly of Elf tribes; the second book in the series describes Faerie, Fae and Otherkin tribes; and the third, fourth and fifth books are comprised of Elves, Faerie, Fae and Otherkin tribes.
In these modern times we now abide, it is most important that the folk incarnated here from the Faerie realm have a strong magical narrative of their own in a world that often likes to tell us who we are and who we are not, and mostly quite inaccurately so. It is our hope that in reading the magical narratives contained in Dragons, Pixies, Dryads, Elves, Faeries and Otherkin Tribes that you will be inspired, our kindred brothers and sisters, to begin if you have not already done so to create your own narrative or add to what you already remember and intuit.
Since we Silver Elves have been living and sharing The Elven Way since 1978, many individuals have written to us that they felt that they were faerie, fae or other but didn’t know any more about their particular tribe. And for years, we told them that they should trust their imaginations and intuitions. And while that is still very good advice, we realized in time that this was not any easy thing to do for many of these kindred of ours who were often newly awakened and needed a bit of guidance upon the path. And so we created a survey to help us learn more about the individual’s understanding of their own magical nature so that we could help them in having a narrative of their own kin type.
The magical narratives we created and that compose this book are based upon the memories or intuitions and thus the responses that we were given by our elfaerie kindred to the survey we circulated about ones otherkin nature (the survey is included in this book in the introduction). We advertised and circulated the survey on Facebook and other social media including our two blog sites, and gifted those that participated with their kin type narrative. We Silver Elves would like to thank all those who participated in this survey and we truly loved their creative responses. Of course, we used our own imagination and intuition in putting their replies into a consistent whole, which was often a challenge but a challenge we very much enjoyed.
You will find as you read through the many narratives in this book that the tribes of dragons, pixies, dryads, elves, faeries and otherkin are beautifully varied in their magic, healing abilities, lifestyle, art, ancient ways, governance, love of nature, relationship to mankind, preferences, symbols and skills.
This book is divided into six main sections containing 112 tribe narratives in all. The first section being 16 tribes of Dragons, Pixies, and Dryads; the second section is composed of 44 tribes of Elves; the third section being 13 tribes of a variety of Faerie and Fae folk; the fourth section has 7 tribes of Merfolk, Naiads, Sprites, and Sirens; the fifth section has 14 tribes of Fauns, Pookas, Halflinks (Brownies), Gnomes, Sylphs, Boggarts, Trolls and Orges; and the last section has 18 tribes of Valkyries, Spirit Beings, Huldu Folk, Shining Ones, the Sidhe, Qilins, Liches, and some tribes with mixed Elfae. Perhaps, you will find your people in here, or kindred quite like them. If not, then you may wish to consult our other five volumes of over 600 more tribes of a variety of elfae and otherkin.

Here are a few excerpts of narratives from Dragons, Pixies, Dryads, Elves, Faeries and Otherkin Tribes by The Silver Elves. Included below is one of a Dragon order, one of a Dryad tribe, and one of a Faun tribe:
The Rathynli Dragons . . .
“These dragons are very close to the kitsune or nine-tailed fox folk and learned from them, long ago, how to shape shift into humanoid bodies. Also, they are not a clan or tribe but rather a mystical and magical order, somewhat like a magical lodge, or like the Franciscans are a religious order of the Catholic faith. So, these dragons are the Rathynli (pronounced: Ray – thin – lie) branch of the Otålowyn (Oh – tah – low – win) order. Also, known as the Ancient Mystical Order of the Dragons of the Nine Realms, which are nine realms of the Yggsdrasil tree of Norse lore upon which all beings reside, which in its way, might be compared to the Kabbala, if not in an exact association.”
“Like most mystical or magical orders, they have a hierarchal system for personal, magical and spiritual advancement and mastery. These are listed in the following fashion: the Oak level, the Hollyhock, the Lilac, Jasmine, Lotus, Elderberry and Foxglove. Prior to that there is a neophyte level, but they are not as yet counted as true members of their order. The Oak level indicates those who have made a solid commitment to the order and to their personal development. The Hollyhocks are learning the fundamentals of magic. The Lilac study the first level of glamourye, thus the ability to cast spells of visual transformation and illusion (some of these folk make their way in the world as stage magicians). The Jasmines learn the basics of enchantment, while the Lotus level emphasizes meditation and mystical communion with the otherworldly spheres. The Elderberries becomes masters of Daoism and the balance of the yin and yang energies. While the Foxgloves are the true masters of shapeshifting and can actually alter their bodily form not merely appear to do so. Of course, there is more to each level than we can go into here, but that is the basics.”
“Each level is signified to each other by wearing a patch or a piece of jewelry that resembles the plant or flower of their level. Overall, the order has no flag or banner but they do have an escutcheon that has a gray background, signifying the misty nature of their lives, with the Yggsdrasil tree or World Tree upon it, denoting the nine worlds, with Thor’s Hammer to the left, denoting their great powers and a white Raven to the right, which indicates their ability to see in the various realms and communicate with those realms.”
“In relationship to mankind and the normal folk, these folk are essentially a hidden folk and have as little to do with man as they can. Men are little more than ants as far as they are concerned, or perhaps termites or locusts, that are ever trying to destroy everything. But these dragons, not being bound to the material world, are not all that disturbed by that fact and assume, for the most part, that men will most likely and eventually bring about their own extinction. And if they don’t, well, good for them, at least they will have learned something. In the meantime, if men don’t interfere with these dragon folk, these folk are satisfied to just let men go about their business, as crazy as their business often seems to these dragons.”
“While these dragon folk learn all sorts of magic (at least, the fundamentals of nearly every type of magic) as they proceed in their basic education, they usually select a particular form of magic or a couple of forms to master beyond their essential mastery of shapeshifting itself. They might become adept necromancers and necromages, or pyromages and pyromancers, or enchanters and sorcerers or whatever combination appeals to them. Some study Norse magic combined with Chinese folk magic or other ethnic variations. It all depends upon the individual as they move away from formal classes into personal research and exploration.”
“Their familiars, if they choose to have any, are also very personal. However, there is a commonality to them, for nearly all of these familiars evidence leucistic genes, so that they are partially or all white or albino. They, like many of the aboriginal peoples in the world, understand the significance of these rare animals and their magical powers and often their connection to signs and prophecy, which these dragons are adept at reading and interpreting.”
The Anåtidre Dryads . . .
“These dryads can usually be found in the forested mountains, away from mankind for the most part and usually along streams or rivers, sometimes near waterfalls, living in association with the White Birch trees and the Weeping Willows and the wood elves that also live among them (see our book Wood Elves). They are the Anåtidre (pronounced: A – nah – tie – dree) clan of the Lototåfae (Low – toe – tah – fae) tribe and they have had and continue to have a close relationship with the faerie folk since quite ancient times when they migrated with the Tuatha de Danann across southern Europe from the region of the Caucasus to Ireland and the British Isles.”
“Although they have a Queen, known to them as the Goddess Mother, who has a consort who wears horns as a crown and is known as the Horned One, these dryads tend to be loners overall. They each have their individual tree, usually a Birch or Willow, that they tend to, although sometimes their entire family tends to it, but they don’t do a great deal of socializing beyond being polite to their neighbors. Their Queen and her consort travel among them encouraging them in their lives. However, since there are so many of them, they seldom actually see her until she reaches their particular part of the forest.“
“They generally live away from mankind due to the fact that they live in the mountains and fewer men live there and because, as we said, they are loners. However, they are not hostile toward mankind or the normal folk overall and are quite willing to help those who do live in their region as long as they aren’t trying to cut down or harm their trees. They are adamant in the defense of their trees.”
“They do have a banner for their tribe, although they seldom bother to hang it. It has a blue background upon which there is triple moon, the sort of moon design popular among witches with a full moon and an outturned crescent moon on each side. The moon is in red, so a red moon indicating their active natures, and beneath it, in purple, there is wood elf script with the words: We Stand With Our Trees, which is their motto. This triple moon formation is also a quite popular tattoo among their people.”
“Magically, they tend to do witchcraft, as one might expect, and, of course, like nearly all elfae folk, they are diviners, but they are also Necromages who help guide those who have passed from their current incarnation through the Between and on to a, hopefully, better rebirth in a new form (see our book Beyond Death: The Elfin Book of the Dead, Ascending towards the Faerie Realms through Progressive Incarnations).”
“These dryads are frequently attended, especially the witches and other magic wielders among them, by crows and owls, who act as their familiars and assist them in their various magics. The crows, especially, are noted for bringing the Anåtidre items that they have found that these dryads can use in their spells. Although, they also take these items as signs and they divine the spells they will do based upon the objects that crows bring them.”
“The Anåtidre are famous for being a very beautiful people, although reclusive, who have a love of lovely things, especially art, and who are also rather cultured and educated. For them, the great magical treasures that they possess are not items, such as enchanted rings, swords, boots or other such objects but rather the ideals of beauty, fair play and their spiritual belief that all beings were created to perfect thems’elves and are an essential part of the great cosmic whole.”
“There are three clans in this tribe. The first is the Foxglove clan, which is the Anåtidre clan, who are, as we said above, a very beautiful but also a very feeling folk, which tends to make them introverted. Love, friendship and kinship are quite important to them but in a respectful way so everyone is given their ‘space’. Then there are the Forget Me Not folk, who are very relationship oriented, never forget a friend or lover, and are not the loners that these folk are. They enjoy being together in groups and are more extroverted in nature. And there are also the Queen Anne’s Lace clan who, first of all, love to wear lace, which is probably where the association came from. They are especially seen as being a lucky folk, primarily because beautiful people are often favored in society and they do tend to live further down the mountains and closer to mankind who are easily swayed by them just because of their beauty. They are great enchanters.”
The Arvåeri Fauns . . .
“These fauns can sometimes be found living in the deep rainforest, as far from mankind as they can get. They have had bad experiences with men and have ever since sought to avoid them as much as possible. They are the Arvåeri (pronounced: air – vah – ear – ree) clan of the Kymbaryn (kim – bare – ren) tribe and, like nearly all fauns, they grow antlers once they mature, have deer legs with humanoid upper bodies, but instead of deer ears, most of them have elf type ears and therefore they are sometimes called elf fauns.”
“They are very active in the body modification communities. They get piercings, have their tongue split in two sometimes, their ears elongated and have other modifications as well. Naturally, many of them get tattoos on their upper bodies. And some wear rings, like nose or earrings, along their Achilles tendon and often on their hooves.”
“There are numerous clans in their tribe, named after flowers for the most part. There is the Lily of the Valleys, The Snapdragons, the Lotus folk, the Ivy folk, the Spiders (named after spider plants) and the Aeonium or Tree Houseleeks. The Lily folk are noted for wearing bell-shaped hats, upside down, of course. The Snapdragons are a very colorful folk. the Lotus clan like to live on lakes and ponds in the midst of the forest. The Ivy people are the most mobile of them. The Spiders are a very prolific and hardy folk. And the Aeonium, instead of the rainforests, like to live in the deep deserts. This may seem strange but many of these elf fauns are a nomadic folk periodically traveling from their deep rain forests, to pine forests, to deserts and elsewhere. Mostly, this is an effort to always keep ahead of and away from men and the normal folk, but also, they do it because they just like to travel and adventure around. Part of their Druidic training is learning the ways of Nature in all its various regions, seasons and climes.”
“As magic wielders, they practice a form of Druidry that puts an emphasis on interaction with the air elementals. They also do weather working. Again, especially with the air. And aeromancy, which is divination through contact with the air spirits. They read the winds, the breezes, the hurricanes and the tornedoes. And, they can bring them forth if they wish, or need to do so, or calm them down.”
“Spiritually, like many elfae folk, they don’t have a religion they follow but they do honor Mother Earth as a great goddess and the mother of their people. She provides everything that they have and everything that they need and they see her as the living, breathing entity that she is and has always been.”
“They don’t really have leaders per se as a people. This is to say that they don’t have hereditary leaders or elected leaders. Instead, they have what they call Natural Leaders. Their way is to follow those among them who know what they are doing and what needs to be done in any particular instance. Their sense of this is instinctual rather than mental. If a disagreement arises among them, some of them will follow the faun they feel knows best and others will follow whomever seems to best know what to do in their eyes (or feelings really). They may split off for a while, but they often find each other again.”
“They also seem to have a great fondness for bonsai trees. So, in a certain sense, they carry their forests around with them wherever they go. They have what they call a Traveling Woodland that is composed of all their bonsais together. Sometimes, however, when the time is right, they will plant some of their trees where needed, while they begin to raise other trees. So, in that way, they are wandering tree planters as well. Also, due to this, they are related, you might say, to various trees and forests all over the world. So spiritually, their forests are widespread.”
“While their clans don’t really have flags or banners for the most part. Some of them do hang up banners that show different trees upon them. As for instance, they might display a banner with a fir tree on it one day only to have one of an elm another day, and a different type of tree altogether on the next after that, demonstrating that they don’t relate to just one tree but to many or nearly all trees.”
