Hi Stitchin Sisters, I finally decided to try to post here once a day or once a week, whatever.  It's been a long time, and of course, I don't remember what to do so it'll be a relearning curve.

Nothing much has changed since my last post.  A few more needlework finishes,  started to crochet and knit again, a few changes in family life.  I've seen some of you since my last post, and hope to see you again before too long.

I'm looking out at this beautiful day and feeling very blessed this lovely fall (almost) day.  I've not been very productive recently, not feeling too well, but on the road to recovery and hope to get the beads on Around the World in 80 Stitches, they're about 2/3 done, and try to figure out how to post it here after it's framed.

I hope I have something more interesting to talk about tomorrow

IDIDIT

Yep, I posted to the Challenge blog.  With much help and talking through by Jayne  I finally figured out how to do it.  I'm sure by the time I need to do it again I will have to be reprogrammed.  This has taken nearly all day, apart from shortening a pair of jeans, and making brocolli soup.  Now to clear up all the mess I made and start stitching.

Just a random thought.  Does anyone besides me remember the good old days when a light bulb burned out and you just bought a new one.  No choices, just 100 watt or 60 watt.  I went to get bulbs yesterday.  My kitchen ceiling lights needs 'floodlight' type bulbs; my bathroom needs pretty round ones, and the floor lamp my daughter gave me for my sewing area needs one that Walmart hasn't heard of.  This is progress?  What happens when people have more than bed, bath, living room and kitchen?  Think of the many types of bulbs they would have to buy.

This Wednesday is our 2011 starting day for our stitcher's group.  There are only three of us, sometimes four, but we have fun and I'm looking forward to it, we haven't met since before Christmas.  We did have lunch together last week, at a sushi restaurant.  It was all a new experience for me and I can't wait to go again.

One more time

Thanks for your comments.  You have encouraged me to try again, maybe two pics this time.  I did it!!  The "Celebrate the Wonder', is a little difficult to see.  It is Cathy's (of Thread and Eye) own design and was a fun one to do.  It has a little of everything.

I was doing the usual New Year's thing, cleaning out old boxes of stash, etc, and came across two quilted wall hangings which I made a few years ago (one is not quite finished)  They are Autumn and Winter, and much to my surprise my daughter loves them. So - I'm going to proceed with Summer and Spring, which might cut back a little on my stitching time.  However, there are 24 hours in each day so I guess I can make some progress.  They are quite big (about 32 x 35") so I don't know if they would show up on a post or notl, but I'll take a picture of the completed one and try later.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the Christmas celebrations, but the snow was really deep here, I didn't get out for about three days, and not much since then.  Thank you all for your lovely cards, and thanks Martina for sending them to me.  It was nice to hear from all the Stitching Sisters and I look forward to May.

New Year's resolution number 102.  I'm going to post my blog at least once a week, even if I have nothing to say, and I will figure out how to post pictures.  Here goes.

4 hours later.OOps, since my computer crashed recently I've discovered that my camera software wasn't installed.  I finally found the disc and muddled through installation so that pictures are finally in my 'My Pictures" file.  Now I'll try to upload one of them.   Wow!! it worked.  There are about eleven more that I finished in December, but I'll just stick to this one for now.  Next time I'll upload WIP's

Tempus Fugit

Another two weeks gone.  I did manage to spend another few days with my sister and niece and had a good stitching time.  I took my sister a canvas kit 'Autumn Quilt' and she's thoroughly enjoying stitching  Soon I'll have her hooked too.  Too bad we don't live closer together.  Had a nice visit, my niece is a fabulous cook and she made a bunch of 'on program' meals, which I appreciated.  I'm down 9.5 lbs now,  and still dropping.

I finally finished my canvas project, and nearly done with the Garden Grow SAL.  I do think it's time I finished some of them and maybe posted pictures, which I have been putting off for some time.  For someone who doesn't do anything I find that time just flies by.

Today I'm off to Thread and Eye just because I want to, no real reason, but I'll pick up some silk ribbon for my Baby sampler so I can move ahead with that.

I  hope your lives are just as exciting as mine.

Happy stitching!!

Where'd the last two weeks go

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I last posted.  There's no reason, except my own procrastinating self and the fact that there's nothing new to tell.  I've not been doing much except stitching and swimming and looking off into space.  Maybe I should make an attempt at posting pictures of my WIP's.  Maybe to-morrow - oops, there's the old procrastinator again.  I had a great day yesterday.  My daughter treated me and three of her daughters to manicures, pedicures and lunch.  Now I'm all beautiful and nowhere to go.  I do enjoy looking at my nails while I'm stitching though.  And the lunch was completely on program.

I'm doing well on the WW program, down 7.5 lbs so far with only ?????? to go.  You won't know me next May (unless I gain it all back again during my hibernating period this winter.

Oh, one bit of news of probably no interest to any one but me - I have another great-grandbaby, a boy, and 1 or 2 or 3 on the way.  It has not been confirmed if it is twins or not, but we should know soon.  This is from MeanoldgranddaughterwhomadememisstheFebruary retreat.  The other one will be born in Halifax.  That makes 9 possibly 10 greats of which only two live in Ontario, so I won't get to see them very much.

Must go and carry on with my interesting life now, keep on stitching.

HOME

I'm home again and have been since Saturday.  I really enjoyed my time with my sister and my niece (as always) but I'm always very glad to be back home again.  I think I finally finished my unpacking yesterday.
I came home full of resolutions,  #1 - join Weight Watchers online
                                                  #2 - walk three 15 minute intervals a day
#3 - swim  3 laps a day (weather permitting, I'm not going in there during a thunderstorm)

Yesterday I started, completing # 2 and 3.   I haven't done #1 yet, I seem to want to procrastinate when it comes to spending that much money, but it would make me stick to proper eating.

Today I'm going to try to figure out how to post pictures to my blog, wish me luck.  The rest of the resolutions I forget.  I'll have to phone my sister and find out what they are.

Yesterday we celebrated granddaughter #2's 16th birthday.. It's not until July 6, but she's leaving tomorrow to go to Huntsville for the summer.  She's staying with family friends and will be working at Algonquin Outfitters for a few weeks, with a couple of weeks at camp.  With her gone and granddaughter #1 working, it's going to be a strangely empty house this summer with only 3 and 4 hanging around.  #3 is 12 and #4 is 9 and the youngest still comes downstairs to visit me and to do some stitching (not for long, but it's a beginning)  You'll know if the picture endeavour is successful when and if you see them on the side bar.
