
This particular series of photographs was something I did that was inspired by the hype surrounding the Cottingley Fairy Photographs that took the world by storm a long time ago. Of course the girls have long sinced came forward to declare that all (except one) of their photographs were hoaxes, but yet the very hope that had existed, and also the hope that some still cling to that there could be a magical world out there, living, invisible but on the borders of our own world was exactly what I was trying to capture when I replicated these fairy photographs.

At number five is Princess Jasmine. Princess Jasmine is a bold and feisty character, though raised to be a demure and dainty woman she is not afraid to speak out against what she believes is wrong and as such, Princess Jasmine is the embodiment of Courage, courage to speak out and stand up for what is right even when everyone else around you may be acting otherwise. And last, but most certainly not least in my Happily Ever After Disney Princess lineup is Princess Belle, though not of royal birth herself Belle became a princess by virtue of marriage to the handsome prince who was once a hideous and ferocious beast. But it is precisely because of Belle's caring and her innate ability to see the inner beauty in all things that broke the curse upon the Beast and his castle and as such Belle is the embodiment of inner-beauty, and also the ability to see that beauty in all other creatures in this world. This mermaid, on the other hand was drawn because a friend of mine wanted to give me a challenge, told me to come up with a mermaid character that was not part-fish. Admittedly it was quite tricky... so many animals in the ocean... crabs, lobsters, starfish, octopusses... I settled in the end of a jellyfish because I think they are quite beautiful in appearance, and well thsi is one of m yfavourite mermaids so I gave her a somewhat of a 









I must say, my bond with Angel grew to be closest between me and all my birds.
