Focus on Life: Hopeful

Tucking in for the winter

Our Focus on Life prompt for this week is the word Hopeful.

This always brings out the hidden farmer in me!

My hope is that this lovely rosemary plant will survive the winter. I will be covering it with more leaves and pushing it farther into the corner. I have brought these plants into the house for the winter in other years, but they really dry up in the heated winter air.

So for this little guy...I have hope!

I wish I could have taken a better picture, but I snapped this with my phone this morning with not a lot of time, or light!

Focus on Life: Cabin Fever - Quiet Calm

A Couple of Really Tranquil Photos

Sally Russick gave us the prompt "Quiet Calm" this week, for the second week of "Cabin Fever."

Right after receiving this prompt, my area of  New York State got its first really large snowfall. Quiet, it was, calm? Maybe not so much.

But Friday night, I found these:

Focus On: "It's a Wrap!"

The End of Winter (we hope!)

This week's photo prompt from Sally Russick and Focus on Life, is All Wrapped Up. Here are some of the definitions she gives us for "wrap:"
6. To envelop and obscure.
7. To surround or involve in a specified quality or atmosphere: The plan was wrapped in secrecy.
8. To engross.
9. To put on warm clothing. Usually used with up.
10. To conclude filming.

It's still winter on the calendar, and yes we got a winter storm yesterday and today. But at least where I live, it was a kinder gentler winter storm. Here are a few of my gardening accessories and plants waiting patiently for their wrappings to be removed....

Bye bye, winter. Hope to conclude filming you soon!

A little bit of life

[If you are looking for my Focus on Life post, it's here.]

My morning walk - with my pal.

In my last post I mentioned walking with Bebop, my dog, and today we did Grand Rounds, about a 3 mile loop, taking us over two bridges (one closed!) past several ponds, and up and down hills.

Here's Bebop.

She was very busy. Did not want to pause for a photo op.

So here's a picture from this fall.

The floating head effect. I was photographing jewelry, and suddenly she showed up to check things out.

And these are some of the things we saw.

Bridge closed? Not to us!

The other side of the bridge. Can you see the ducks?
Oh, there they are!

So, that's how we spent our Sunday morning! Thanks for stopping by!
