This male sparrowhawk tried for a good twenty minutes to get to a small bird that was sheltering in the bush and calling in panic the whole time. It was quite a spectacle to watch and I was not sure whether to be relieved for the songbird or sad for the raptor when he eventually left, with his belly still rumbling.
