On Tuesday Night just gone, we went down 2-0 to St. Pats. A really poor 2nd half performance from the lads let Pats grab the points and I don’t think anybody can have too many complaints about the result, the better team won on the night. Hopefully this defeat will shake the lads into gear.
However the main talking point of the night was the mindless idiot, being generous here, ran onto the pitch to confront the Pats keeper. It was a disgrace to see and it has no place in Tallaght Stadium, this sort of thing is wholly unacceptable. Stewards must do their job better however as there was no apparent rush to grab this fool off the pitch. He should never have been allowed anywhere near the pitch in the first place. Hopefully he will now get a lifetime ban from the stadium and that the relevant authorities also take the appropriate action.
Another note from the game was at how quick the stadium emptied out while there was at least 15mins left in the game. We know it’s a person’s prerogative when they can leave the game but we urge all supporters, both old and new to get behind the team and support them even further during the bad times as no team goes out onto the pitch with the intention of playing badly. There is a reason why the club retired the number 12 jersey and we need to show this spirit again as it is starting to creep into the atmosphere at games lately. It don’t matter if we’re playing Bohs or if we’re playing Wexford we need to get behind the team and make Tallaght a cauldron of noise. The players have gone on record to say that the support, when in full swing, really pushes them on.
A lot of members of the Tallaght Hoops were in attendance in the post match gig in the Glenmalure Suite which was great to see. The band playing put on a great show as did resident DJ, Tallaght Hooper Paul O’C, who surprised us all by playing decent tunes!! 😉 A great time was had by all! Who knew The Turtle could eat so many hot dogs!!!!!
THSC would like to welcome new signing Robert Bayly to the club. We all remember the performances he put in against us last season in the 2 Cup games against Sporting Fingal. If we get something similar out of him this season, then he’s going to be a great signing for us!
Next up in the League is this Sunday, the 21st, against old rivals Dundalk, kick off at 3.45pm due to the game being live on RTE2. It’s as great a chance as can be to put Tuesday’s game behind us as quickly as possible so let’s get properly behind the lads for 90mins and help them get the 3points! Come on Rovers, these are….. (you know the rest!!)
Hooperman is making his debut this Sunday as well!! Rumour has it he has close links to the Tallaght Hoops…….
Details on the Bus to Galway will be announced after the game against to Dundalk as to avoid any confusion but if anybody wants to get in contact beforehand that is no problem. Look to the Contacts page above for the necessary info!
Finally, we urge anybody who wants to take part in the European Savings Scheme to get in touch with us ASAP as the clock has started ticking and the weeks fly by!
AND OF COURSE NEVER FORGET TO KOH!
