Tsukimi, agreed. Hopefully it works out that way.
mtwoods444 on Cactuar!!! Reliable Midrange that WINS!

Super sweet deck! I love how low the curve is, but that you also built in some nice mana sinks.
Also, I love the versatility of Trash the Town in this brew. Winning combats, trampling through for damage, and drawing cards all in one is sick!
psionictemplar on Mono black infect

Ok, I am back (obviously). Focusing on your main plan of infect I think it would be best to decide if you want to use several infect creatures or just a few to deal your damage. Going bigger allows you to run fewer creatures (that are bigger ex: Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon) and more board control but comes at the cost of having to protect your creatures more. Going small with several creatures gives you more likelyhood of getting that infect damage in but then you dont have much impact on the overall board and your creatures are easier to deal with. Personally I like the go bigger route but obviously go with what suits you best.
If you go the small creature route then I would suggest moving Thoughtseize to the main and cutting any 2 costing discard spells since you will want to be playing your infect creatures from then on. Your general plan would look like turn 1 discard, turn 2 play infect creature, turn 3 another of each maybe. If this is the route you want to take a card suggestion is Demonic Embrace as a recurring way to deal larger amounts of infect. Demonic Embrace + Phyrexian Crusader can mean a 2 turn win. Another card along the same vein is Nightmare Lash but I wouldn't play more than 1 or 2 copies if you did.
If you wanted to go the big route you could follow the same idea just push winning back a few more turns while you prepare the win. This might mean playing discard and then a board wipe like Damnation until you are ready. This could also open up the land destruction idea for the early turns since you won't be looking to cast a bunch of creatures. Like I said earlier, choose the one that suits you better.
If you want more feedback later, let me know.

@zachz Thanks! I completely overlooked Hellhole Rats. That one is going in the Maybeboard until I give it some testing but it holds promise.

This is good to know. Thank you for the clarification. I have thought about using overload with cyclonic rift before in cascade but have never had the mana to do it. I will amend my primer with a correction. Thanks again.

Ive started making an old school revised / 4th , 5th edition jumpstart cube.
It has 11 jumpstart 20 card decks so far. Ive designed them to not be combined and mashed up, however, but instead am aiming for super fast games.

Absolutely, black used to have stupid amounts of drawbacks. Turning them into upsides is fun in deck design.

Asder hello there, thank you for the suggestions! Sideboard Is still under construction and im considering or have condidered the cards you mentioned... The mana base Is a Little tricky to play too much colored non creatures spells imho and im considering switching for a fetch/shocks base for the sideboard games but Life costs are a real issue there, considering the weakness to fast aggro decks

After the arrival of High Perfect Morcant, I couldn’t resist the pivot — and I’m sure many of you felt the same. Lathril, Blade of the Elves will be missed, but her legacy lives on in the violence committed in her name.

No Big Changes - Solving Ratios
From my last update, there haven’t been much changes in Modern, with only a few cards making waves.
I will continue to make changes as I see necessary, so don’t think this is the end of Mardu Pyromancer!
Thank you all again for your upvotes, comments, and support!

Balaam__ - thank you for the upvote! I appreciate the compliment on the primer. I’m constantly trying to keep it updated, even if I haven’t run it in MTGO in a hot minute.
Metropolis39 - I always appreciate your comments. And I hear what you’re saying, and I’ve been on and off Unearth, but honestly, I’ve loved it to for most creatures I typically run, including lately the 2 Titans and Joshua, Phoenix's Dominant Flip. Seasoned Pyromancer is still basically the best target, but also Magus of the Moon is a close second when the stars align. Worst case scenario, it adds to the mini-cycle theme that a few of the cards in the deck have.
zapyourtumor - thank you for the comment and compliment! Young Pyromancer is definitely one of my favorite creatures, and I get it is not as competitive in modern MtG, but I still love it in a spell heavy build.
Saturn999 - I saw this deck popping up back in 2018/2019 and it was so cool at the time. Really felt like honest Magic, and reminds me of simpler times. I’ve seen builds through the years that run Liliana of the Veil (and various other planeswalkers), but most of the time Mardu Pyro tends to focus on instants/sorceries. But that also might just be my personal bias.
Cloudy2024 - I appreciate your suggestions, and I have considered focusing the deck on a more Mardu/Boros Energy style. I’ve personally liked the goodstuffs build that this trends towards. I am hesitant to lose the reactive midrange nature of the deck (which I enjoy more) than the proactive aggro nature of Energy builds. But it is a valid thought!
