First things first: The Antichrist is a Man (Daniel 9:27)

Let’s start here…according to Daniel 9:27 the Antichrist is a man who will ‘confirm’ the covenant with many for one week…but in the middle of the week, he changes the plan and causes the sacrifice and oblation to cease.

As he rises to power, the Antichrist will appear to be a great leader who seems to posses the ability to solve many problems the world is facing.  However, he is, in fact, a wolf in sheep’s clothing who will say whatever people want to hear on the front end, but ultimately will do his own WILL.  He is a deceiver, a manipulator, a liar and a thief.  His goal is to take everything holy and Godly and destroy them so HE can be worshipped as God himself.  Of course, believers know how this all ends…but it’s still interesting to know that we may be around to actually see this all unfold.

King James Bible
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.   Daniel 9:27

Why should we care?

Why the heck should anyone really care about who the Antichrist is?  I mean, honestly, the Bible is ancient and we really don’t know if all that stuff is true anyway…right?

Okay, so yeah, the Bible has been around a while…but let’s assume that God really is who He says He is….and that He is the same now as He was back in the beginning and forever…and He doesn’t change and saw the end from the beginning.  What if it is true?  What if all of these stories are just unfolding to show us that God really is who he says he is and there really is a guy named Jesus who was the only son of God who died for our sins and loves us beyond reason.  What if?

How would your life change today if you really believed that this was all true?

Maybe that’s the point.  Maybe it should scare us.  Maybe it should make us change how we look at the world every day.  Maybe it should make us refocus on things that TRULY matter…like our spiritual salvation and how we treat others in the short time we have on our little blue planet.

Maybe, just maybe, if we really believed…we would live better…love better.

Think about it.
