This was Tuesday (10/4/16) at 8 weeks 2 days. We have tiny arm buds! Some say gummy bear, some say spacesuit. I say adorable 😍

Finally

It’s been two years since I posted on this blog. I figured I might as well update now that we are where we are…

5 years. 8 at home attempts. 4 medicated IUI’s. 1 fresh round of IVF. 1 frozen embryo transfer. 2nd fresh round of IVF. 2nd frozen embryo transfer and finally, BFP. 4th overall transfer and 6th embryo.

Beta was 424 at 11dp5dt. Turns out I have some immune issues that were hindering us – I’m thankful for my wonderful RE and the staff at the clinic. Here we go!

Out

For sure. CD1 today, right on schedule. Definitely disappointed but brushing ourselves off and gearing up for another go. A July baby would certainly be lovely too πŸ™‚

Negative 😦 we’re obviously sad but holding on to a tiny strand of hope. We will see what the next couple days bring.

12 dpo

At the prompting of Miss Isa I realized I owe an update. Here we are at 12 dpo…. annnnnnnd I haven’t tested. I used a Wondfo internet cheapie on 10 dpo and it was negative so now I am gun shy. I know, it was too early. My chart looks pretty good but I did have a little dip yesterday – back up today. We have a box of FRER’s and a box of Clearblue digitals… just waiting to be used. I can’t decide it I want to wait it out (period due Monday) or open the box(es). This is by far the worst part of the tww for me – so close to victory or sadness. Oh, we also found out the donor we used this cycle is now sold out for now so if we do have to try again, it’s back to square one in that department too. Even though this is technically our fifth try, I would still feel like a bit of a one hit wonder since it’s been two years since the last one… I will keep you posted! πŸ™‚

Signs, signs, everywhere are signs…

Two funny things happened yesterday:

1) we were driving home from spending the weekend in Michigan. N sees a billboard and says “I’ll take that as a sign”. I can’t remember what it was for (a hospital maybe) but in big, bold letters the billboard said: THE RESULTS ARE POSITIVE.

2) we were watching the Patriots/Bengals game last night and the Patriots have a player with the last name Stork. After a particularly good play the announcer said “The Stork has arrived!” we just looked at each other and giggled πŸ™‚

8 DPO and counting…

Greetings from 5 DPO

Hello! Today is 5 DPO and there’s not much to report. The only thing that is a tiny bit out of the ordinary is the fact that both yesterday and today I have been burping constantly! I’m not reading into it too much since it’s still so early, but it’s interesting nonetheless. I’m a little bloated too but that could be anything. Just waiting, waiting, waiting! At least we have some fun stuff going on this weekend! πŸ™‚

Thanks, friends!

Hey out there! I wasn’t sure if my last post would get any attention since we haven’t been on here in…oh 2 YEARS! Crazytown. Thank you for the welcome back’s and the good luck wishes – it’s nice to see you all! So what has happened in the last two years? Let me see…

  • N got a new job
  • I finished grad school and my internship
  • I got my first ‘big girl’ job (currently looking for a new one but that’s a different post)
  • We bought a condo
  • Bought a new (to us) car
  • Went on a couple vacations
  • Friends had babies
  • Friends had MORE babies
  • Finally decided we were ready to try again
  • Went to the doc; had a pre-conception check up and ultrasound to check things out – good to go!

And there you have it! We are settled in our new place and loving it – the second bedroom is just screaming to be a nursery πŸ™‚ My doctor told me that I was totally healthy and should have no problems conceiving at home…famous last words. We are taking her advice for now, and if we’re unsuccessful after 3 months we will be more aggressive. So right now I am 2DPO after doing 2 home ICI’s at approx 14 and 22 hours past that smiley face you saw in the last post. All signs lined up beautifully and I think the timing was pretty spot on. But who the heck knows! I am in a much different place this go ’round (older, wiser) and am taking a more relaxed approach to the TWW. But talk to me in a few more days and we’ll see how that’s holding up πŸ˜‰

CD 1

Thank you for all of your kind and hopeful words, crossed fingers and extra thoughts. Unfortunately it was not our month. Needless to say we are very, very sad and allowing those feelings for the time being and then moving on. I’m not convinced that something didn’t happen in my body this month; there were just too many unusual things going on. I think for whatever reason it just didn’t stick. I was jarred awake this morning at 4am by the worst most painful cramps I’ve ever had. Went into the bathroom and…well I’ll spare you the details but let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. I’m making an appointment with a new obgyn to discuss next steps. We are for sure skipping this month due to scheduling – two weddings, pride, my birthday…it’s crazy. I’ll keep you posted on how everything goes and of course our plans for the future. For now I’m going to enjoy this beautiful Chicago day and a beer or two at the Cubs game tonight. Cheers!
