Is this thing on?

6 months! We made it.

What does 6 months in Seattle look like? Well first we left our state shaped like a hand. Then we drove across the US. We landed in Seattle in the middle of the night. We found a place! Well sorta. It was a room in a house. We were very fortunate to have a place to land.

From that point on it was hustle, hustle and hustle! We worked worked worked. We met some friends, made some new ones, went out, ate, found out why Seattle is amazing.

Now we are both working full time. We moved into our permanent apartment in Seattle.

Oh also, remember our contest? We didn’t forget. We have a tie with 2 winners for first place!

JR Clark & Heather Palmer!

Second place is

Jennifer Walma!

JR, Heather and Jennifer email me at theviewaswego@gmail.com with your contact info and I’ll send you some goodies!

So what’s next? Well, we are still figuring that part out. But for now we’re good. We are stable and plan on hanging out in Seattle for a while. Keep your eyes peeled for our adventures through fall and our first West Coast winter!

Also thank you thank you thank you for your love and support ❤

Long Time No Blog!

Oy….

It has been a whirlwind this past month! So let’s run by what’s gone on…After my last post I was invited to a Hiring Seminar for Apple. I worked a bunch at Teavana and had a slew of interviews with Apple. At the end of June I got some very good news.

I WAS HIRED! I’ve started my training and am so amazed.

I can say I have accomplished in a way, what I came out to Seattle to do. Scott too. We are so fortunate and have worked really hard to be here.

The other big development is that we will be visiting California next month! Happy Birthday to us! We’ll be visiting San Diego, LA, and San Fran over the course of a long weekend.

Thanks to everyone who has helped support us before, during and since we are here! (I promise I’ll update more)

Day 10 – 30 Days of Music

Day 10 – A song that makes you fall asleep

I spent hours playing these games and listening to their soundtracks. This is the central theme from the Kingdom Hearts series “Dearly Beloved”.

Day 9 – 30 Days of Music

Day 9 – A song that you can dance to

So I am not doing great at posting every single day. But still. Here is day 9!

Scott and I just got to see Theophilus London here in Seattle. Will be posting about that escapade soon!

Day 8 – 30 Days of Music

Day 8 – A song you know all the words to

Sing along folks!

Lyics

O green world,
Don’t desert me now
Bring me back to fallen town
Where someone is still alive

Fighting for something new in this
When no one needs the heart of me and I’ll
Get out somewhere other than me before…

(than me before…)

O green world
Don’t deserve me now
I’m made of you and you of me
But where are we?
Oh no

Sells to lie
Phone with talk, you stars
Suppose you
Down when you’re in fast
Cause it seems so little to you

But now you’re in love, you know
You know, me too
You know, me too
I hope sex and drugs rust into my self, holy
It feels holy
It feels like you’re with your father in the place you love…

It’s been 3 months!

We are surviving! We aren’t homeless, hungry, or totally broke. In fact; we’re fine.

My whole point in moving here was that we could be poor anywhere. We could fail anywhere. But! We could also succeed. So why not do it somewhere we want to?

If there is something holding you back, it isn’t. It is just you. You determine everything you’re capable of. I’ve been trying to wake up everyday and ask myself, “if you died today, would you be happy with what you’re doing?” For a long time I thought the answer was yes. At the end of each night though I didn’t share those same sentiments. Now I do.

I want to thank personally, Jess Alexander and Mike Snyder for inspiring Scott and myself to finally make the move. If you wouldn’t have moved to LA I dunno if we would have found the courage to move to Seattle. I am eternally grateful to you!

If you don’t know who these wonderful people are check out their blogs here:

I guess my point is: Do what makes you happy. Truly happy. It’s just you. You’re the only one that can make the difference in your life.

Look how happy Schatzi is!

I’m looking forward to another 3 months and another 3 after that and 3 after that! What will one year in Seattle look like?

Day 7 – 30 Days of Music

Day 7 – A song that reminds you of a certain event

It might not be your favorite song but it is the only one in recent memory that is absolutely tied to an event. The day I bought my Ford Focus (RIP) and I drove it home, this was the first song I heard.

It totally became the song of summer and always reminds me of that car when I hear it!

Day 6 – 30 Days of Music

Day 6 – A song that reminds you of somewhere

This was the first song I heard by Best Coast. It came on pandora or something and I immediately felt transported. Feelings of old Weezer and even older feelings of Connie Francis from my childhood took me over. There is just such an overwhelming sense of the California sun in this song. Even though I’ve never been to California I’m pretty sure this is how I would feel if I were there.

Our trip to the Cinerama!

Saturday was a gorgeous day in Seattle. Scott and I walked around the city and visited Belltown. Belltown is the area that is closest to Seattle center and is home to the West Lake outdoor shopping mall. Here are some pictures from our walk!

Our walk led us to the Cinerama which is an amazing historic theatre in Seattle. My pictures doesn’t due it justice so visit there website here to see great pix!

One thing of note at the Cinerama is that they make CHOCOLATE POPCORN! It is amazing. It melds the greatness of sweet/salty together in an easy to eat package! ❤ A definite must try!

On our way home we captured this view of a different look of the Seattle Skyline.

Day 5 – 30 Days of Music

Day 5 – A song that reminds you of someone

This song reminds me of my babycat Luna (Lulu). I had this as a ringtone on an old cell phone and she would always go crazy when this song came on. Miss and love her!

Lyrics

Build a wall of books

Between us in our bed

Repeat repeat the words

That i know we both have said

Relax into the need

We get so comfortable

Remember when i was

So strange and likable

I just want back in your head

I just want back in your head

I’m not unfaithful but i’ll stray

When i get a little scared

When i get a little scared

When i get a little

When i jerk away

From holding hands with you

I know these habits hurt

Important parts of you

Remember when i was

Sweet and unexplainable

Nothing like this person

Unlovable

I just want back in your head

I just want back in your head

I’m not unfaithful but i’ll stray

When i get a little scared

When i get a little scared

When i get a little scared

When i get a little

Run run run run

Run run run run

I just want back in your head

I just want back in your head

I’m not unfaithful but i’ll stray

I’m not unfaithful but i’ll stray

I’m not unfaithful but i’ll stray

I’m not unfaithful but i’ll stray
