Weight Loss at Last!!

I can't believe it has been so long since I last blogged.  I'm pleased to report that things are going well, and as of today, I am down 14 pounds (1 stone!) since the 4th May!  I had started on Slim Fast and lost a lot of weight in the first 2 weeks (11.2lbs) but then I seemed to hit a wall and was going up and down for a few weeks again.  I am back on my trainer's diet (I did it 2 years ago!) and it finally kickstarted my weight loss again!  5lbs off since Tuesday!

My start weight had been 201.2lbs and this morning I weighed in at 187.2!!

From the 200's to the 180's!!  Yay!!
It is now the big countdown to the wedding - 11 weeks until we leave for Florida!  We have picked a venue, and we are just waiting to hear back to see if it's available on the day we have chosen!!

I hope to back next week with some measurements for you all!!  I hope there is a significant difference!!  That dress of mine will have to be taken in A LOT!! (Fingers crossed!!)

The Wedding Dress!

So yesterday, I hit the town with my sister to go have a look at wedding gowns.  I was only going to look and try on a few to see what suited me and then order something similar online because I really didn't think I had enough to time to get a dress custom made for me since the wedding is in 5 months!  The first store we went into was no good.  The woman in the store was no help whatsoever!  She just pointed to the gowns around the shop to where the various sizes were and that was it!  Needless to say we just walked out!

The second store was really busy so we just kept walking to another store.  The girls were really friendly, I was taken straight to some gowns she thought I might like and then let us browse and pick out any others I would like to try on.  The first few gowns I tried on were quite nice but nothing was really WOW!  While I was trying on another gown I saw another girl trying on a gown that was absolutely gorgeous!!  I wanted to try the dress she had on!  So after she had taken it off and had left the store, I was able to try it on!  I just knew it was THE ONE!  I was beaming ear to ear and right there and then I knew I was going to get this dress!  And it was within my budget AND it will be made to my size AND it will be ready for me for August for any alterations I will need.  I'm hoping I lose a bit of weight for then and can get a few inches taken in!  It will look even more stunning once I lose some lbs!

I'm not going to post the pic of THE ONE - but here's a couple of shots of a couple of the dresses I tried on - my sister had to take the photos secretly since it's a big NO NO! lol

I kinda liked this one - but just didn't LOVE it.

I really didn't like this dress at all - as you can probably tell from my face - plus it didn't really flatter my figure as much as the one above!

So now the countdown is ON!  All we need to do now is book the actual wedding venue in Orlando - we have a few ideas but just need to settle on one!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I will hopefully do another post later about what I'm doing activity and weight loss wise!

An exciting announcement!

Well, I don't know how exciting it really is.  It's more scary at the moment - and no I'm not pregnant ;-)

Kenny and I have signed up to do a half marathon!!  I can't believe I have agreed to do this.  I am not a runner.  I suck at running (at the moment anyway!) but I believe that with a lot of hardwork, training and dedication, then I will be awesome at it!  The Great Scottish Run takes place on 2 September so we have just under 6 months to prepare.  As we will be getting married about 2 weeks after the half marathon, I'm hoping it will give me some focus to start taking my exercise and healthy eating seriously.  I feel like the wedding isn't enough for me to really want to buckle down and get to my goal!  I know that if I don't lose at least 20lbs (I would like double that though!) then I will regret it on the day, and then every day thereafter.  I still remember how I felt in Florida a year and half ago and I don't want to feel that pain again in 6 months time!

We will be starting our training on Thursday - and I think I will just start with Couch to 5k again.  I will follow it to the letter too!  Usually I have a habit of skipping a week when I feel that I can run for longer.

This photo is from a previous race.  I drive over this bridge every day, and no pedestrians are allowed.  And just think, 6 months from now I will be running over it!!

Does anyone have any advice they could give to a newbie runner??  I think I will need all the help I can get!!

PS - I gained half a pound at my weigh in last Wednesday :-(   I need to do better!

A set back is always a chance for a COME BACK!

I seem to have lost my stride the last couple of days.  I always seem to stray off course when I get out of my routine.  Why is it so easy to get out of good habits than it is to keep with them??  I love it when I'm eating healthy and I feel so good when I drink plenty of water and have my fruits and veggies!  I feel slightly back in control today - but I haven't tracked so I could be doing worse than I think!

I weighed in on Wednesday and I was down 0.6lbs!  Yay!  So I'm at a total loss of 7.8lbs in 3 weeks.  I feel good about that :-)  I hope my wee set back won't do too much damage at my next weigh in.

My gym has just undergone a transformation!  I haven't seen it yet, as I haven't been there in over a week, but we are excited to go tomorrow and see all the new equipment and newly painted walls and flooring!  I will try and take some photos of it to show you guys.

I bought Zumba Fitness RUSH for the Kinect during the week after trying out the demo.  It is an amazing and fun workout!! There are different types of workouts you can do - short, medium or longer and either high, low or medium intensity.   I did a short workout at hight intensity which lasted about 20-25 minutes.  I wore my HR monitor and it showed I burned 180 calories!  The calorie count on the game said I only burned 100 - but that is obviously nonsense! ha ha ha!  I guess it's just a guestimate!

I'm off to watch Charmed on Netflix!  I'm still on season 1, episode 20!  I love it!!

Hope you are all having a kick-butt weekend!!

My Favorite Things Part 1.

Happy Saturday, everyone - I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :-)

Just thought I would do a quick post about things I am loving right now!

The new Weight Watchers Theme Song here in the UK - it really gets me excited about WW again!!!

Banana Republic  - I just wish we had BR here in Scotland, but luckily I can still shop online :-)   I love these jeans.

McIntosh Apples........

DIY Manicures - I love these false nails - they look so natural, don't you think?

Sausage fingers!

Blue Bloods......

Supernatural....... I love Jensen Ackles!!!  Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins aren't too shabby either ;-)

Breathe Carolina - Blackout.  I am loving this song - it's a great workout tune!

I hope to do Part 2 of Top Tips to Get You to Goal, sometime in the next few days!!  I am happy to report that I'm down a total of 7.2lbs - My 3rd Weigh in will be this Wednesday - I hope to get 5% achievement then! =)

Top Tips to Get you to GOAL! Part 1!

If you are looking for some inspiration, motivation or a bit of no nonsense advice on losing weight and getting to goal - then look no further!!  These tips were in a recent edition of Weight Watchers Your Week magazine.  I hope you enjoy them and find some tips you can use yourself.

1.  Stick to your Daily Points allowance.
Every day that you stay within your daily PP budget brings you one day closer to reaching your goal because you're creating the calorie deficit your body needs to lose weight.

2.  Use Your Weekly Allowance for Greater Flexibility.
When you want to eat more than your daily PP allowance or enjoy a treat, dip into your weekly allowance.

3.  Track EVERYTHING you eat!
Studies show that keeping track of your food intake can boost weight loss success.  That's because, without tracking, it's easy to think you've eaten less than you actually have!

4. Stay to Your Meeting Talk.
Research shows that people who attend the greatest number of meetings have the greatest weight loss.  So weigh in, then stay around to be inspired!

5.  Move More than you did Before.
Getting active is the ONLY way you can get  your body to burn more calories every day.  Why not break down your moves into 10 minute bursts, so it's no sweat?!

I hope these simple tips can help you if you are struggling or are in need of a simple reminder that it's easier than you think.  They certainly helped me get back on track!

I went back to my WW meeting tonight and weighed in at 202.5lbs.  My weight in the morning though was 201lbs - so I may just take my weight in the morning, nekkid! lol  Although I think just being up 1.5lbs at night with my work clothes on sounds not too bad!

I hope everyone is having a great week =)  I'll be having an even better week if I can book tickets tomorrow to see Madonna here in Scotland in July!!  I will let you know how it goes :-) Wish me luck!

I will be back with more tips later in the week!

Happy February! =)

Happy February everyone!  I was going to say Happy New Year - but it's well past the time for saying that ;-)

I feel motivated to do a post just now - so I'm just going to go with the flow.  I have been kind of out of touch with the blogging world for quite a few weeks now.  I have been kind of reading everyones blogs, but usually just once or twice a week!  I miss the blogging world, so I'm back to catching up with everyone and try and keep my own blog updated.

As you know, I had gone back to WW in October and was doing well for a few weeks.  I lost 9.5lbs but then I started slipping back into old habits again and messing about with other diets.  I basically lost all focus!  I gained a little bit back so I'm at a total weight loss of 7.5lbs at the moment.  I have been hitting the gym though and I feel that I'm back into a routine with working out, so now all I have to do is balance my diet and exercise and see results - why do I make it so difficult for myself??  ;-)

We have booked our holiday/wedding/honeymoon for September!!  I'm so excited, but also scared that I've not left enough time to lose enough weight to feel great about myself.  I know if I just focus on the goal I will get there or pretty darn close, so it's time to stop messing about.  This is real!  I don't want to feel like a fat, sweaty cow on my wedding day.   I remember how awful I felt in the Florida heat in 2010 - my legs were always rubbing together, they were chafed and sore and I could hardly walk!   We spent the best part of a day looking around Walgreens, CVS and Wal-mart looking for anti-chafing cream!!  Not a memory I really want to remember but that's the truth of it!  Being fat SUCKS!!

I am pleased to say, that as of today, I am back to doing WW - I'm counting my PP's and tomorrow I will be hitting the gym with my love!  The good thing is I have no excuse to back out now.  I sold my car two weeks ago, and have inherited my lovely fiance's car, which means I have to go home and then we go to the gym together.  It makes it so much easier when you have someone supporting you and working out with you too!

I will be going back to my usual meeting on Wednesday, so I hope to have a good result for you all =)
