Staying on Track

So last week didn't exactly go as planned - damn those tasty Halloween Monster Mallow Cakes from Greggs the Bakers!

My weight came down by 2.8lbs but then I binged again after that and put it all back on plus 0.2lbs.

I have been back on track again this week though, so I'm interested to see what the scale will read on Saturday (I have decided to make that my official weigh in day!).    I haven't binged this week and hopefully I can continue this streak I have going! Ha!!  My trainer (who is also studying Psychology - very hand!) told me about a book she is reading for her course.  It's called "The Hunger Fix" by Pamela Peeke.  It's all about food addictions, over-eating and how to overcome it.  I definitely think this is something I should read.  I need to let go of the vicious cycle and just DO IT already!

I created a weight loss reward thingamabob today and it really helps to break down your weight loss in to smaller chunks and look forward to a treat (non food of course!) in the very near future!
My 45 pound loss reward is booking our Florida vacation for next year!!  And my ultimate reward will be a new wardrobe and shopping spree in Orlando.  My other rewards include small things like new leather gloves, mani/pedi, massage, new pyjamas - that kinda stuff.  When I did a similar reward list last year, I did reward myself quite a bit!  Though most of the treats and rewards on my previous list were things I had to do for my wedding anyway! At least I earned those rewards tho =)

I had a new gym program created for me on Monday night, and let me tell you, it ain't no walk in the park!  Prowler shuttle sprints are included in this, and boy, are they BRUTAL!!  I just love being back in the gym and lifting weights again!  My cardio is also a lot more interesting now than it used to be when I worked out at a chain gym.  Also there is nothing better than slamming a ball into the floor with full force ;-)  Gets all the anger and frustrating right out :-)

I'm still thinking of what to write in my "success story", but hopefully I will get it done by the weekend!!  It will be interesting to see what I envisage my future to be like!

The Dreaded Weigh In

I weighed in on Monday and the scale read 199.8lbs.  I knew it was going to be bad, but I didn't think it would be as close to 200lbs as that!  Eeeeek.  To make matters worse, I weighed myself again this morning and it was over 200lbs at 200.2lbs.

So I am going to make that my official start weight for my new journey:

200.2 lbs

I've not done my measurements yet, but I know it's bad because my work trousers are soooo tight.
I can't continue like this.  I have been basically binge eating for the last 2 months.  All I have been doing is thinking about food.  If I'm at work, I'm thinking of all the bad stuff I can go out and get during my lunch break.  How about 4 huge Monster Mallow Cakes??  Sure!  Why not?!?  Heck, throw in a multi pack of crisps (potato chips!).  I love those too!  What else can I have?!  3 chocolate bars.  Bags of candy.  Anything I see in the store that I might want to eat.  A packet of biscuits.  Sure add that in too.

What I really need is a few days of being focussed and back on track and then I know things will feel a lot easier.

I had cancelled my subscription for my Body Media Fit a few months ago, but I rejoined yesterday to hopefully ease back into fitness and moving again.  I did almost 11000 steps today just because I was wearing it.  It really helps keep you moving!  I like when I hit over 10000 steps!  It makes me feel accomplished!

The next thing I'm going to do is to write my own success story.  I'm going to write it as if I've already lost the weight, have become a runner and a become a much more positive person!  I read about this idea a while ago and I loved it!  Fake it 'til you make it!

Starting Afresh....

Tomorrow (Monday - isn't it always a Monday?!), I'm starting afresh with my health goals.

I've already prepared my fruit and vegetables for juicing in the morning, and I've prepared my lunch and it's ready to grab and go in the morning!

Doesn't this look delicious!  Loads of nutrients, that will soon be packed into a glass!

Breakfast will go something like this:

Fresh juice - 4 medium carrots, 2 small apples, a chunk of ginger and a couple of handfuls of Spinach.

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie - you can find the recipe here! I can't wait to try it out!!  It's a little higher in calories (399 calories) than I would normally have for breakfast but I'm trying something a little different!

Lunch:

50g Wholewheat Fusilli
70g Tuna in Spring Water
50g Sweetcorn
10g Brianna's Poppyseed Dressing (This is the bomb, yo!)
80g Cherry Tomatoes

Lunch is always a meal I struggle with.  I get very bored with wraps, salads and sandwiches, which usually leads me to binge at work.  I need to break the cycle of going out to the shops and grabbing unhealthy treats at the bakers or grocery store.  So this lunch will hopefully hit the spot!  If the rain has stopped by tomorrow, then I will have a good 20 minute walk during my lunch break and then come back to this delicious meal.

I'm not sure what I'll have for dinner but my snacks will probably be something like Mcintosh Apples, dried dates, cheese sticks or nuts.

Do you see the price of these apples??  £3.49 a kilo - Kenny always says I have expensive taste!  Bahahaha!  At least it's a healthy obsession for a change!  I should have taken an after photo of the apples after I selected 12 of those bad boys!  Slim pickins for anyone that arrived after me.

Tomorrow I will do my "first" official weigh in and measurements.  I will perhaps do some before pics too - though I do have plenty of those!! lol

I just watched the Halloween episode of Pretty Little Liars!  Oh my god!  I just love that show.  I started watching it on Netflix last month and I have been hooked ever since.  I can't wait to watch Ravenswood too.  I'm a real Netflix addict these days.  I hardly ever watch normal TV, and if I do watch normal TV, you can be sure it will be on some music channel!  I'm watching the first episode of the second season of The Carrie Diaries.  I'm a TV junkie!    If I put as much effort into my health and fitness as I do my TV watching, then I will be ripped very soon! Ha!

Reminiscing!

Hey friends!  So I am sitting here watching/listening to country music videos blasting from the X-box (using VEVO - it's awesome!!) and reminiscing about last summer!  The weather has really changed the last two days here.  The wind and rain has returned and the early nights are drawing in!  The turning back of the clocks is imminent!  At least that means an extra hours sleep!  Yessss!! =)

My day was MADE today when I found Macintosh Apples have returned to the grocery store here!! They didn't have any last year and I was devastated!  Yes, really.  So I bought about 14 of them when I saw them! And spent around £7.00 on them!  It's better than spending all that on candy.  I love, love, love Macintosh apples!

I'm slowly making healthy changes to my diet and I stocked up on plenty of fruit and veg for juicing next week.  I'm going to have at least one fresh juice a day.  I did a juice fast back in May and I really enjoyed it!  I also managed to lose 11 pounds during it.  I felt revitalised!!  I was also on holiday from work, so I had plenty of time to juice, relax and just enjoy it.  I don't think I would have been as successful if I had been at work.  I was juicing 6 times a day!  Also clean up is a major pain in the ass.  So aiming for one healthy juice a day is very reasonable!

I also got some awesome recipes from Andie's website "Can you Stay for Dinner" and I plan to make Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie and some s'mores pancakes with marshmallow sauce that sound really delicious.  I will be sure to post photos of them when I make them!!

Just thought I would share some photos from last summer since I am in the mood for reminiscing!

Back to the old!

It's been a reaaalllly long time since I blogged here......or anywhere else for that matter, but I was thinking about this blog earlier today and I realised I really missed it.  I started blogging here away back in 2008 - My goodness has it been that long?!   And I also realised that I've never "made a change".  Not a permanent change that is.  I have been up and down with my weight during this whole time - in fact for the last 8/9 years!  The  lowest I got in that time was last year when I got down to 165lbs for my wedding in Orlando.  And do you know what?  Even though, I wasn't at my goal weight, I realised I feel really good when I stick to my goals, take care of myself and make time for fitness.  I look back at my photos from last year, and I think "Damn, girl!  You did good!  You look good, and more importantly, you FEEL good!"   So, why on earth did I gradually give all that up again.  I realise more and more that I really am crazy!!

So, in the spirit of getting back into health and getting fit again, I figured I would rekindle my old blog. I won't promise I will write every day, or even weekly, but I hope I can use it to help me back on the path to health, wellness and feeling fit!  AND actually Make a Change this Time!  =)

I actually joined a new gym a couple of months ago - and I hope I will be able to share it with you in future posts!  Until then, here are just a few photos!  As you can see (or not see!) there are no treadmills or cardio equipment like that (except for 2 spin bikes!).  Big tyres,  ropes, sledgehammers and prowlers are all you need to get your heart rate up!  Ha ha!!

Happy Monday everyone!!
