TrainWeb was one of the early pioneers of live railroad webcams. When we started our first live railroad webcam in 1996, we only had dial-up access to the internet. Because of slow dial-up speeds, we could only capture and upload one image from our live cameras about every 6 seconds. Back then, internet speed was nothing like it is today where Virtual Railfan can provide live streaming high definition video. Some of our cameras were configured to capture still images and short video clips only when motion was detected of a train passing by the view of the camera. Below are featured highlights of some of those captured images. Most of the photos have a date and time stamp on the image. TrainWeb itself no longer operates any live railcams.
Since we used our webcam technology to take photos at Fullerton Railroad Days, we have included photos from the 2000 through 2003 Fullerton Railroad Days here. Take a look through the photos to see if you can find your photo if you were there! You may find photos of yourself as a child as these are photos from more than twenty years ago! The first link shows highlights from building the railroad sidings at the Fullerton Station which were originally used to display railroad equipment at Fullerton Railroad Days.
