Restful Chaos (3TC)

Di’s prompt words are:  MANIC, CRAZY, CHAOS

(“Catch the Feather”)

Everywhere we turn

Crazy chaos spins the world…

Makes kitten’s manic zooming

Seem positively restful…

(& Auntie’s too old to twirl) ~

This is “Gracie Joy”, my neighbor’s kitten (who has grown quickly since these pictures were taken).  She thinks she’s really cute and can get away with anything.  (She is darn cute, and she does get by with all manner of misbehavior.)  When scolded she offers Mom-Deb that look of innocence common to 13-year old girls!

You can’t tell from my shared photos, but she has 2 speeds: race-around-the-house, and sleeping.  She knows me as ‘Auntie L’…and has dismissed the rumor that I’m not a cat-fancier, or any other type of pet-lover.  I confess: she absolutely fascinates me–what I’d give to have her energy.  And to be honest, after watching her antics and laughing out loud, I go home feeling totally relaxed.

There were other pics displaying the chaos she leaves behind when bored–but…they’re in the police evidence locker (“misdemeanor” indictment in process, bail bond probable).😺

Hall of Mirrors

For Daily Spur prompts:  duck, open, “write a metaphor”

The world is a hall of mirrors…duck in through the open door, at the end there may be no Exit.

Subdued Adieu (3TC)

Di’s prompt words are:  BLINDED, PRIVACY, SUBDUED

🎭

Blinded by obsessive

Need for privacy

Perhaps he missed

Unique blessing or two…

His subdued adieu

To Life, like walking off

Stage relieved, grateful…

Embraced by falling curtain

And silence of no more

Onerous roles, World’s

Expectations ~

We Need Someone…

💖💖💖

“We need someone to save us from meaninglessness and meaness.  God’s promise is this:  we have a Savior, and His name is Jesus.”

He Could Never Know

💖✍💔

He could not have known

Letters wouldn’t be enough

That she’d arrive uninvited

Show up outside his door

Wanting something more

Something he had naught to give…

A couple letters, merely

Briefest notes, a postcard

Not even friendship offered

They were miles, years, stars apart…

Perhaps she was desperate

Abandoned, lonely

Maybe even unhinged–to think

He’d respond with welcome

Let her into his home, his life

Surely she knew he had a wife…

He would never know how close

She came to jumping that day

The sound of surf in her ears

Calm shush of palm trees’ sway

He could never know

That she left bereft

Her heart crushed

As though by aqua waves–

Ceasless tears that rushed

Tears she wished would

Drown her

Take her farther forever away ~

She’s a Beauty, but…(3TC)

Your three words today are:  SOLEMN, SULTRY, TERSE

🔥💃🔥

Man, she’s a beauty

Oozes sensuality…

But maybe she’s

Just a little bit crazy…

Keep a wide berth–the lady

Can go from solemn to sultry

Faster than a burning bullet

And that’s what it feels like

If you’re crass, offending her…

She’ll shut you down hard

In terse language fiery ~

Deficiency

💰💰💰

Amid the wealth, surplus and bounty

Society’s culture has sad deficiency

Dearth of honesty, kindness, integrity

And pure-hearted generosity–

Oh, the avarice, the me-first greedy

Much they could share with 3rd-world

Countries, and homeless folks

On neighboring streets, the hungry

Working-poor, and disabled–

Deficiency of compassion, and vision

Hearts turned to prideful stone

By gilded piles of what they own

As if money, possessions

Could stay old-age, advancing

Illness, protect them from

Just consequence, or randomness

Of Life in general, or foolishness

Unexpected losses, untimely death–

How did “reputation” become

All about acquisition

Instead of noble character

The “measure of a man”

With moral compass true

Who is “good as his word”

Walking righteous talk

Instead of one who mocks…

There are still heroes, yes

And saints, I believe

But it’s difficult to know

Media thrives on news

Of people who deceive

Gluttons who devour

Innocent and naive…

The miserable scum

Who’ve fallen from grace

Corrupt con artists conscienceless

…There’s no deficiency of thieves ~

Proverbs 28:19, Where there is no vision, the people perish… (King James Version)

Psalm 49:20, People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beasts that perish. (NIV)

Psalm 53:4, Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on God. (New International Version)

by “man”, I mean humans
