I am not quitting RuneScape. I am not retiring. I am simply quitting my addiction and sadly, my writing of this blog. I of course will be on RuneScape mainly in the times of updates just to check them out, because the BTS’s always get me urging to see what the new updates will be like. Also in the times that I will be on, I am going to do nothing but Farming. The small amount of times I’ll be on will leave plenty of time for trees and fruit trees to go. So in the minimal amount of time I’m on, I’ll go check all my trees, say a word or two to some friends, then be off. Now, I’m sure you are wondering my reason for this.
On Monday, June 28th, 2010, I left for Church Camp, called Camp Whatever. That’s explains my absence for this past week. I stepped onto the tour bus not knowing what the following week had in store for me. I just lazily expected to go to a Church Camp, sing and worship, and listen to a speaker and there be nothing special about it. But oh was I completely wrong!
It was on Monday night, the first night, did I forever become changed. The Speaker, Chris Lovell, spoke to us about the word commitment and how we, as Christians, need to be committed to God in all we do. Well, that totally spoke to me. So that night, I re-committed my life to Christ and am now living all for him. I know RuneScape is getting in the way of my relationship with Him. The time I spend on RuneScape could be used to maybe read my Bible, have a quiet time, share Him to others, or pray to him. So I’m going to put God first. I am going to wake up, do my quiet time, have a time with just Him and I together, share the Gospel, then whatever time I have left, will be spent on RuneScape, that is now not known as an addiction to me.
There are a couple quotes that I found absolutely remarkable at Camp Whatever. There was one example that Chris spoke about. Here it is: “Not sharing Christ with someone is like watching someone walk out onto a busy street and then just watching them get hit by a car and dying.” That absolutely spoke to me. But it’s so true! We as Christians have become so afraid of someone’s reaction to what we have to say about Christ to them that we stand back and don’t tell them. We just let them live their unGodly life and let them walk straight into Hell and perish. It’s our jobs as Christians to spread the word of God and save those people’s lives from Hell so that they can have an Eternal life in Heaven.
Also, there was another quote from a video we watch of an atheist speaking. I can’t remember his name but here’s what he had to say: “You have to hate someone so much not to tell them about Christ.” Wow. My jaw completely dropped the moment I heard that and then when our pastor spoke about it. That quote is just so true, too. It’s ridiculous now that I think about it how I can’t even share the Word of God with simply one of my friends. I should share it with a strong passion to them and help them live a life in God. As one of the songs we sang while we were there said: “We were not saved to be silent. Stir up a passion inside us.”
As you can tell, I’m so excited for God! Every time I think about Him and sharing His word, I get so pumped up about it. So if there is anyone who is out there reading this, I want you to know that God is alive and is doing great things and is the only way a human-being can live a complete life, through Him. So if there is anyone who is out there who wants to know more, catch up with me when I am online on RuneScape or reply a comment on this. Because I would love to help anyone out there who would like to come and know Christ.
So right now I have sold all my bank pretty much, except for all my stackers to make sure I never forget how my bank was organized. I loaded up 70M cash. I couldn’t afford to buy all the palms and payments needed for 99 Farming with 70M. So I then checked out papayas. I could do it! So I bought 14k pineapples and 1,400 papaya trees. I’m only planting 50 saplings at a time just in case something happens to their price or whatever… Thanks Coopee for the pointer! My goal is to get on once a day, do a Farming run, check all my trees, converse with friends, then get off.
But ya know, I might even find more time to play on RuneScape after I’ve gotten all my wonderful, Godly plans for the day complete :) so this is not a post of quitting, bur rather a post telling you of my cut down on playing time. I am totally committed to Christ now, so the playing time needs to be cut down. I leave you with a screen-shot of the last of my levels before my blog comes to an end. I will leave my blog up, just not post.
