New Beginnings is now available on Amazon.
I hope you enjoy reading the story of how Matt and Jill met, and I hope there’s enough twists to keep you engaged to the end.
I often look at happy couples and assume they were always like that, but sometimes it isn’t the case. Not everyone meets the love of their life, starts dating them immediately and it’s happily ever after. Sometimes one – or both – of them doesn’t express their interest at all (in my own recentish past, a girl let me know she’d fancied me since she was 17. I’d even been at her 18th birthday party. By the time she made a play, she was 29 and I was, uhum, older. The point is, she was beautiful and I never thought I stood a chance – I also wasn’t single when we met – so nothing ever happened… Until it did in 2020). And there’s other times one half of a couple will confide how rocky things were at the beginning that you’re shocked they even made it. How many of us are keeping secrets of our friends’ early infidelities from their current spouses? Some people have a kiss, a fling or more because they didn’t expect the relationship to evolve into anything serious. And when it does, they don’t look so great in hindsight. Yet somehow their relationships prevail.
What appears on the surface isn’t always revealing what’s underneath, and that’s the purpose of this new book in the context of the wider series.
Matt and Jill have never been normal, so New Beginnings was never going to be a normal guy meets girl, guy gets girl story. Instead, we learn more about their pasts that help explain the people they become in the later books. Some blanks are filled in at last. Other questions are asked. And further hints at mysteries are dropped that’ll soon be answered in The Unburdened Cuckold.
If you go to the Matt and Jill Prequels series page on Amazon, you’ll see the books have been renumbered to reflect New Beginnings’ place as the chronological first book in the series.
I hope you all enjoy this newest addition to the Vaughniverse.
Yours, VT
