The Red Elves, or Red Gnomes, lived at the North Pole with Father Christmas in the Letters from Father Christmas. They were first mentioned in a letter written on 30 November, 1932. They were sent for by Father Christmas in 1932, and helped him and the North Polar Bear capture many Goblins that threatened the North Pole and Father Christmas himself. The next year they fought a big battle against the Goblins, where many Red Elves got hurt. After that unfortunate battle, they received magic sparklers to keep the Goblins at bay, and permanently moved to Father Christmas’ Cliff House to help him sort the gifts for the kids and protect the North Pole. They spoke a Quenya dialect called “Arctic”and one of them, Ilbereth, became Father Christmas’s secretary in the later letters

Oh my, another outfit so soon! The new Jingle outfit from Yule festival is very cute, so I got inspired again. On top of that, I wanted to make a tribute to an outfit from The Starry Mantle, who many years ago made her own version of the Red Elf, but for a female character. While the Letters from Father Christmas are not part of the Middle Earth legendarium, there are still some connections with the rest of the mythology, especially the earliest drafts. Merry Yule all!

It is cold in the mountains of Ered Luin, even more so when winter comes. Nature goes to sleep, creatures of land hide in their holes and caves, and creatures of air in their nests. Everything is covered in a snow white mantle and sounds themselves are muffled as if surrounded by cotton. This is the right time for this elf to start her task. The snow masked the heavy hoof-falls of her horse, and both steed and rider are dressed to camouflage themselves in the landscape. Tones of white and navy color the elf’s wintry clothes, the soft footfalls barely make noise as she tosses white feathers around her. The feathers she knows will be collected by the birds at dawn, and used to insulate their nests from the cold. An odd task, some might think but one that for her is quite important

Heyoooo! It’s been some months, but I finally got inspiration again for an outfit thanks to the latest beta on Bullroarer for the upcoming Kingdoms of Harad expansion. The items I used here are level 160 gear, I am not sure where they will be available as on the test server they are bought from a handy npc, while similar to the Kinta gear that can be obtained questing in Legacy of Morgoth or doing the latest raid, the pieces here have a different color scheme, that personally I see better on a sinda/falathrim elf than an avar. Speaking of, lotro’s version of the Avari, the Kintai, will also receive new gear coming KoH, so I hopefully shall be inspired again to make other outfits, not just elf but haradic ones too

Hobbits love to eat as we all know, breakfast, first and second, elevenses, lunch, tea, dinner, midnight snack, but what to eat… in between these main meal courses? Well, in order to not be too full and have space for the main courses, something light yet appetizing like… apples! This hobbit lass is waiting for supper and what better snack than an apple snatched from Gaffer’s Appledores? His apple trees are the best in the Shire growing sweet and crunchy red apples, she loves picking them so much that she dressed for an apple picking trip in the same shade of both fruit and trees, her cloak can be useful as picnic tablecloth and of course, a wide brimmed hat to keep the sun heat away

hello everyone! It has been a minute and inspiration has been at an all time low, but the new Farmer’s Faire rewards sparked an idea finally. The clothes are simple and die well, very versatile for all races but… come on, they are absolutely perfect for hobbits 😀 the one thing I’ll never use is the horse because it has the tablecloth caparison and I think it looks boring

head: Apple-picker’s hat, Farmer’s faire reward
shoulders: Scarf of a Snowy Evening, olive dye, Yule fest reward
chest: Apple-picker’s dress, red dye, Farmer’s faire reward
back: Cloak of the perfect picnic, olive dye, Farmer’s faire reward

Imloth Melui is a valley in Lossarnach, Gondor. Some of the most beautiful roses grew in Imloth Melui and people from all the realm often travelled to the capital of Lossarnach to see the flowers and the blossoms of the fruit trees. One such person is this gondorian lady, who decided to dress for a stroll in the gardens wearing a light gown with matching cloak all in flowery patterns and colors reminiscent of the prettiest roses in Middle Earth. Just like a rose is a simple yet extremely elegant flower, so she chose very few items for her attire, but just as elegant.

There is not much to say about this outfit since it really is so simple, but I love how a couple of very old items like to coak and hat can pair so well with the brand new dress and scarf. Spring has sprung in the real world as well, I hope wherever you live, lots of beautiful flowers and good weather come your way!

head: Iornaith’s Ward, red dye, quest reward from Archet
shoulders: Mantle of the Snowy Evening, ashenslades green, yule festival reward
chest: Long-sleeved Dress of Budding Spring, red dye, spring festival reward
back: Trellis-weave cloak, red dye, spring festival reward

The Falathrim were the shoreland Elves of the western shores of the Middle-earth who took Círdan as their lord from the beginning. They dwelt mainly in the ancient havens of Eglarest and Brithombar of the Falas, and their last home on Middle-earth before finally leaving for the Undying Lands was the Grey Havens (from Tolkien Gateway).
They were Teleri who stayed in Middle Earth at the time of the Great March, and they are now also known as Sindar, Grey Elves. This elf is one of them, an inhabitant of the Falas who loves to take long walks by the shoreline, gaze westward, wondering what his kin on the other side of the sea is doing. Mithlond is now his home, he lives a carpenter’s life building Cirdan’s ships and he can be seen wearing colors typical of a so called “sea elf”. His hood, tunic and boots sport a swirly pattern representing the waves, in a pastel blue with dark grey accents, because he is also that: a “grey” elf, one of those who stayed. He finds that those two colors combined fit his mood most of the time.

Happy New Year! 2025 whew, it’ll be 12 years of outfits ny now, I feel old like an elf XD I may not post as frequently as I once did, but I still enjoy lotro for the most part, cosmetics included; to start the new year I decided to repurpose the recent yule cosmetics we got because… well because the swirly patterns on tunic and hood do remind me of waves. The tunic has a snowflake on the back but any cloak can hide it, plus I think this color combo is absolutely lovely. And those shoulders, I finally got a use for them! Been collecting dust in my vault for ages. See y’all in the new year!
