So I’ve been stuffing around for a week or so, trying to make mongoengine play nice with forms that can dynamically be selected depending on what category of item the user has chosen.
That way, I can get all items, regardless of type/category, into the same collection so search will be easy.
Dealing with Aptana, Virtualenv, Python and Django can be an absurd mess.
You’re final product should look something like this:
Setting up the VM :
1. Downloaded VirtualBox.
2. Downloaded Ubuntu ( ubuntu-11.10-desktop-amd64 ).
3. Created a new virtual machine and installed Ubuntu. Rather painless, virtual box was very handy.
After doing some deep Googling I’ve decided the technology stack I’ll use to support an e-commerce website I have in mind. This is the list and some quick notes on why I made these choices:
